Yeah that is probably Capcom’s thoughts on it as well. They really don’t have to give a damn about DMC2 and where it fits, as long as they can keep making games that make money it is fine. I mean way too many franchises jump through hoops to justify what only a small percentage of fans care about.

Yea, Nintendo and Zelda’s timeline issues come to mind. It’s very clear, to me anyway, Nintendo didn’t have any kind of timeline in mind when making these games. They where basically having a Final Fantasy mindset where each game is basically it’s own thing with references to older games. It’s clear the fans came up with this timeline thing and care about it a lot more then Nintendo ever did.
A big part of botws lore development was putting it so far in the future Nintendo doesn’t have to worry about it, and can even argue it as a merging or inevitable outcome of the timelines.
Basically Nintendo jumping through hoops to explain and deal with something they never cared much about but the fans did heh.

I am anti Zelda timeline. I still stand by the idea of them being their own games. Nods to other games to me felt more like these games can be different dimension/alt universes.

my copy of Moero Chronicle Hyper is on it’s way from Limited Run. That’s probably gonna be saved for display, since I bought the game as part of the Idea Factory Bundle on Fanatical. I want to find an alternate cover booklet with that panty-hunting thingy that @Stuart_Hayden mentioned and put the cover art away for safekeeping.
