Emulation is how Nintendo got the VC working on the Wii, 3DS and Wii U, it’s how the Nes and SNES works on the switch, all the ACA and Neo Geo games in the switch, all the mini classic consoles work on emulation, and most if the game collections that use 8 but and 16 but games work, and all the M2 Sega Ages ports work on the switch, ps4 and Xbox.
It’s how Xbox one BC works, and how Ps3 and Ps2 bc with PS1 works
Also rom sites is how Nintendo got back the bulk of their NES and SNES library back, as they had zero archives from back then. Minus the notes and sketches individual employees keep

You can talk about emulators here. It’s fine. Roms is a touchy subject I would avoid.

You can even admit roms exist, just dont tell people you have any or where to find them.
Unless they are legally acquired.
Like you can buy legal roms to the Amiga hardware

You can also make them yourself if you know how. My PS2 library is backed up in iso format by myself personally. Same with my PS1 library.
Emulators are fine because reverse engineering isn’t illigal.

I bought the OG metal slug on the switch. I played it and it even had the damn arcade slow downs. Shits pretty painful to play tbh lol
They emulated that shit flaws in tact and everything it seems.

The slowdowns on Metal Slug is 100% authentic to original Neo Geo MVS and AES hardware.
It’s the original game that’s like that.

Yea i know. But when it happens every 20secs its pretty off putting. I mean i get it from a purist standpoint but hopefully the newer ones run better.

I wouldn’t mind an optimized version of Metal Slug 1. That’s games performance kills a lot of the fun or desire to even try to 1cc it. There’s a reason most Metal Slug conversations start with MS2.
MS2 is worst for slow downs
The d-pad on the Hori Split Pad Pro is great, even better than the one on the Fighting Commander. My hands still get tired after 30 mins of play though, thats why I prefer playing in tabletop. Its just too bad that the d-pad on the Lite sucks too.
A hacked PS Vita with a SD2Vita adapter is the ultimate handheld.
