The Nintendo Switch Thread! - Deadly Premonition 2: Blessing in Disguise 7/10 - Paper Mario: The Origami King 7/17

Maybe I sound harsh? Like I don’t think it’s a shit game, 3/10 and you’re a sucker if you buy it. I just think that Pokémon shouldn’t be so stagnant and bare bones.

I think Psyvariar is a really great practice game. It will really really fine tune your screen navigation skills and the exp reward system and how levels are unlocked is a great reward indicator for how well you are doing. You get immediate recognition of wether you are doing well or not based on how often you level up, earn invulnerable windows, and unlock levels. The game is always telling you how well you are doing.

We just disagree about what the game actually is I guess. That’s fine. Personally I’m pretty shocked by the amount of stuff there is to do even with half of the roster missing. The meat of these games to me has always been expirimenting with different teams against real players and tediously training Pokémon into the perfect killing machines, and I can still do that.

shrug

I would honestly be interested to see people’s responses to the game had the developers not said a single thing about its development process.

y’know, tolerating a Bethesda game for years really makes one appreciate the stability that ohhhh 99% of other major games have… like I was playing Diablo 3 for at least half the day yesterday…and in all that time—not ONE glitch or crash. I reflected on it for a moment… that game has never had a problem, actually…at least in my experience (which includes 1000+ hours at this point across multiple versions). Kingdoms of Amalur as well, with the 1 exception of a game-breaker glitch that can be easily avoided if you know about it in advance, of course. Bayonetta 1 and 2, any of the Nintendo 1st party games I’ve enjoyed, Vampyr [I’ve heard of some minor issues with that one but it’s been fine for me], etc. etc.

This was on my mind recently after being tempted to play my Skyrim character(s) again recently… it’s such a frustrating thing though, because of how great that game is otherwise… if only it was a more stable experience and had better combat…ohhh I would’ve loved it forever.

edit—ha, 1 big one I remembered from Skyrim just now— there’s one part where as part of the story you enter a certain cave/dungeon type of area, and the door locks behind you, then you have to fight some things…sometimes this glitches up and the door NEVER unlocks after. It cannot be opened at all, so you are just stuck in that area. So far, the only possible ways I’ve seen out of this are to go back a save or 2 and try this all again, or abuse another glitch to beat this one—by making your character clip thru the wall of the cave so you can get around the door that way. It’s oddly funny yet pathetic all at the same damn time… one of your only hopes is to abuse another glitch to beat a potentially game-breaking one. It’s fortunate I no longer need Elder Scrolls games to be a vampire in a game these days…there is finally some competition there.

Sw&Sh never forces Multi-player.
You have the option on Max Raids, where there ether 3 NPCs or 3 human players, and you don’t need to do any of the Max Raids to beat the game and the max Raids are optional.

Did you play the game?

Most games don’t get the Diamond and Pearl/ Gold and Silver Post game.

Then you should get pissed at every video game ever then. Don’t even play video games.

Right on

Like the PC version of RDR2? or the last few Ass Creed games?

Yeah, I’ve noticed. Like, the first time I played, I ended on level 70. My last few runs haven’t beem nearly as high. I catch myself trying to avoid the bullets when I need to graze them and take advantage of yhe invincibility period.

I Marked the NT series as the start of the downfall of the Megaman IP as a whole. Like the NT series started okay, but then they tried the unnecessary Pokemon style version angle and it spiraled down, and you see equally baffling stupid choices in other parts of the Megaman IP like Megaman X7 was straight awful.

Also NT lead to Star Force, which is the worst megaman entry of all time.

oh yeah, there was 1 Assassin Creed game from a few years ago that looked like an absolute disaster…but also in a funny way; that glitch with people’s faces disappearing was hilariously terrifying; imagine the nightmares some kids may have had from seeing that. Fortunately, I have never been a fan of those games though. AC: Origins is really the only one to really jump out at me; I might still buy that some day…ancient Egypt is definitely a period in history that is interesting to me; I always figured there was some cool gaming ideas just waiting to happen with that.
I am interested in Red Dead 2 but only on console though. ha, I have a Steam account but I haven’t played a game on PC in quite some time…a couple of years, actually…last thing I played was Kingdoms of Amalur; another game I love so much I bought multiple versions…haha, all 3, actually. My character on the PC version was still a newbie at the start of the game though…which reminds me; it was surprising my laptop could even run that.

Went ahead and scooped My friend Pedro, Bastion, Shantae Half genie hero, Horizon Chase Turbo, Disgaea 1 and 5, Rocket League and Ori and the Blind Forest.

yeah, I’ve settled on Ori & the Blind Forest for sure…

Blade II (funny thing is I never even heard of the first game) is really fun so far; it’s an even more action-focused arpg sort of thing, if that makes sense to ya…they don’t mess around…you just start an area and in 1 second there’s enemies go wild on with the combos…and oh yes, they count the combos like it’s a more “stylish action” sort of thing. ha, I always love that…here it is in action:

Anybody play witcher 3 on switch? I hear its ok in handheld, im just wondering how bad it is on adult hands

If you got a hard time holding on to the switch as you have big hands, try the Hori Split Pad Pro for the switch. It’s Joycon replacements that replace both left and right sides with something that looks and feels like someone cut a Pro controller in half.

Oh ok. I’ll give it a look. My hands aren’t that big but im getting old so the awkward button placement makes my shit start to cramp after like 45 minutes
