Whats better?
FAST RMX or Redout?
So I just started playing Isaac Afterbirth. I will say even though it was out on other platforms, and I’m sure I would have enjoyed it on said platforms, I am happy I waited until the switch version. This game just flat out feels better to play certain games on, also I hear from a technical standpoint it outperforms the steam and PS4 with regards to framerate drops and screen lock ups. Now onto the actually game.
Its a whole lot of fun. Basically its a throwback dungeon crawler with an insane amount of depth that takes forever to uncover. Ever new game is a new instance or seed that is an 8 digit code that can be inputted to start the same one again, otherwise its a random set of 6 levels (each with its own boss) until the final. The game is pretty tough, haven’t finished one yet but I also don’t completely understand how the game works, but every time I play I make progress. My advice to anyone starting the game is continue and play and die until you get to a seed that gives you some op shit right at the jump, save that seed code and work on that to learn the mechanics, level up your shop through donations ect ect. My son and I have been working on one for a few hours here and there, almost got it down. Not going to get into it anymore if no one has the game but I’d say buy that shit in a heart beat if you like dungeon crawlers.
I can’t honestly say anything about Fast or Redout but I’ve heard more things about Fast than I have for Redout. Mostly because I believe Redout is mostly on PC.
Digital Foundry has an analysis on Fast RMX if you want to check it out

Did anyone catch the yooka laylee reviews? seems sorta mixed between bad and ok.
The overall criticisms revolve around the idea that it is literally a copy of 90s style platformers and that includes the bad stuff. Apparently there is one level that is just straight up awful.
I still kind of want to play it because i love banjo kazooie, but if the game is apparently very frustrating (the camera was mentioned as being problematic) then i dunno.
If people are still looking for a switch I’d check walmarts. I work at one and we’ve been getting consistent restocked for about a week. I ended up picking up one for my sister and brother in law on Monday since they were sold out everywhere where they live.
What I ended up doing was order a Switch from Gamestop.
It’s in not keep on stock in their brick and mortar stores or online, what you do is preorder a bundle at their store and the switch is ether shipped to you or the store you ordered from for pick up.
It’s a partial effort to stop scalpers from buying up all the switch consoles and flipping them on eBay for gross overcharges.
if for whatever reason your switch starts giving you a dns network error just simply restart the console and that will fix the issue.
no idea why it happens but it just happened to me.
Anyone know what time the Nintendo Store updates? Just curious when GEM will be on there tomorrow.
Is there any news about the Blazblue game for the Switch? Haven’t heard anything for months.
Doesn’t seem to me that a Blazblue Central Fiction port or a enhanced version is out of the realm of possibility and that would be a instant buy.
Thanks I just checked the website and saw it. I’m at work until 2ish then heading to the gym then I’ll be home.
Has anyone ever purchased a game from the eshop from a computer? I’m just curious how that will work - will I just get home and it will auto download it or something?
EDIT:
Just chatted with them on the website and this is their response.
So I’m just gonna purchase it now and it’ll be on my Switch when I get home - easy enough!
EDIT 2:
Okay maybe the chat was wrong because after I purchased, I got this message.
Still not a big deal though.
Yeah happened to me too, I assumed because I had reset my connection through my ISP.
So here are some thoughts on graceful explosion machine:
The game is solid. Lots of fun, very straight forward. People who like arcade style games will definitely have fun with it. You’re rewarded for being flashy and buttonsy.
It doesn’t look as good when docked. It’s meant to be played on the switch screen. It doesn’t look bad at all when docked, its just it doesn’t scale so well.
Its kind of the perfect game to play on a plane or something. Whenever you need to kill time, and want something to pick up and play, its good.
I have only played the first 2 levels in portable mode. I was trying to get high score on level 1 but only got to rank 11. I’m sure it’s not 11 anymore.
I’m going to try it either tonight or tomorrow with the pro controller. I feel this game will definitely be better with the pro controller because the analog sticks have more throw distance. I noticed the short throw distance messed me up a little bit in portable mode. I didn’t even think about graphics though so it’ll be interesting to see it on my 120" screen.
I like it though. I love the music and style of it and the basic gameplay. I like trying to go back and get high scores. It reminds me of geometry wars 3 where they made it have actual levels where you had to figure out how to get high scores on them.
it reminds me of geometry wars as well. its a cool simple flashy arcade game that gets progressively harder.
Damn GEM is pretty fucking hard. A lot harder than I thought it would be. I only played for like 30 more minutes but it’s pretty damn fun. I love the theme/style/music of the game.
I really need to learn how to read the meter though because that kept screwing me and I died thinking I had stuff left when I didn’t.
Mr. Shifty is getting released next week apparently.
yeah its pretty challenging once you beat the first few levels. you gotta use every weapon, all the time
Here’s a big Famitsu interview with Takahashi and Koizumi: http://nintendoeverything.com/nintendo-talks-switch-origins-creation-going-with-one-screen-name-online-play-january-event-much-more/
Picked up a pro controller yesterday. This thing feels awesome.
