The Nintendo Switch Thread! - Deadly Premonition 2: Blessing in Disguise 7/10 - Paper Mario: The Origami King 7/17

Bout to pick up my pro controller today. Seems some gamestops got them in stock last week.

I think the Pro Controller is the best controller on the market, like for any console. It just feels perfect.

I hadn’t played PS4 since I got my Switch, and I played Uncharted 4 again last night, and man, the PS4 controller feels like shit now. I mean it’s always been the worst of the major consoles, but damn it just felt horrible. The control in Uncharted 4 isn’t the greatest either, but the looseness of the analogs and the placement is just awful.

ive been 99% switch since it came out. i played ps4 for like 10 minutes and was like ehhh.

but yeah, i actually cant stand the ps4 pad. id take the dog ear setup on switch over ps4

I’ve barely touched my Switch. I don’t really like Breath of the Wild so I don’t have a reason to play it. None of the eshop titles interest me either. It’s pretty much a dead system to me until Mario kart 8 deluxe, arms (maybe?) and splatoon 2.

I don’t regret buying it at launch though. So there’s that.

Love the fact that this pro controller comes with a charge cable. Only briefly touched it when I took it out of the box and messed with the button so don’t know how it feels to play quite yet. Mostly planning to use it for MK8 but I’ll probably try it out on BotW.

Zelda is the only Wii U port I will be purchasing on the Switch.

Wii U ports I will buy
Mk8 Deluxe
Smash 4 Deluxe
Hurdle Warriors
Bayonetta 2
Super Mario 3d world

if Bayo 2 was to get ported I’d buy it again purely on the hope of trying to support a sequel happening.

You mean it’s a Switch Port . :wgrin:

So preview embargo for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe seems to be up. It’s been revealed that they now included an extra level to Powersliding/driftin in giving pink sparks

watch the vid around :35

Interesting, still not sure if I’ll pick it up though. It’s probably gonna be 60$ right? I think the only MK I’m interested in spending 60$ to play on the switch right now would be Double Dash. God I hope they bring those tight ass controls back.

Interesting choice, yeah. Doubt I’ll pick it up though, I’ve played it to death on WiiU and never really liked battle mode in the older games.

I think Redout shouldn’t be too far off, so with that and RMX I already have two decent racing games for the system anyway.

Edit: is he driving in 200ccm? Maybe it’s exclusive to that mode.

Amazon prime price for Mario Kart 8 deluxe is $47.99 + free release day ship by the way.

I can confirm that, Prime users get a $11.89 discount for ordering Mario Kart 8 Deluxe on Amazon.

There is a similar discount on other switch games, such as the Switch version of Puyo Puyo Tetris is $8 off.

The Switch version of Mario Kart 8 includes content from all the DLC of the Wii U version plus some Switch exclusives.
Like the Splatoon Inklings are playable characters.

The original Mario Kart on the SNES had a perfect Battle Mode.

Prime has had the 20% off for amazon prime members for like over a year now. It’s not exclusive to these Switch games, it’s any new release.

And the last good Mario Kart game was the SNES one. It’s been complete trash since then. The game has had 0 sense of speed since back then and takes no skill to be good at.

Thank you Sir Buzz Killington.

I doubt you ever played any of the Mario Kart games, except for maybe Toad’s Pikeway on the N64, fuck that track.

You also missed the point of Mario Kart, it was never about the sense of speed. Its more Hanna Barbera’s Wacky Races than the actual show Hanna Barbera’s Wacky Races but substitute the generic Hanna Barbera characters for Mario Bros (and later other Nintendo) characters.

You obviously never played Double Dash, the BEST mk game ever. 8 is good for it’s level of polish and it’s online play, but the controls and skill curve of DD is superior hands down.

Actually Double Dash was the one Mario Kart game I didn’t play.

I did like every Mario Kart game except for the N64 version (I was off put by that game for a long time, and it was not till very recently I learned to appreciate the game for what it is).
I even liked Mario Kart: Super Circuit for the GBA, the most under rated Kart game in the franchise.

MK8 is really good, but, I mean. I’ve got it on the Weeoo, and I stopped playing it a while ago. Spending another 50-60 bucks on it WOULD guilt me into playing it for a while again, and I’d likely enjoy it, but enhhhhh…

Im probably in the minority of people that thought double dash was the weakest entry.
