Didn’t know it was that much trouble. But yeah, I could just buy new one first.
Although I wonder if I asked them to let me transfer things after the transaction would they be ok with it?

Nope, as not everything is on the SD card, and some files are only accessible on the system it was made on.
Now if you had a Switch stolen and you got a new system, Nintendo’s support can help out but thats it
Yes, but digital purchases are tied to the account that made them, and the account is machine bound with the exception of a transfer.
so the SD card is used for storing games, DLC, and game saves for the most part? Do I have that right?
Idk how much these will help. But hopefully they do help.
When does the new model come out?
I too would do that as long as I can transfer my stuff to the new one. I have wanted to buy one of those extender battery packs and they are like $40 or so, so paying an extra $60 to just get it integrated would be well worth it.
Doesn’t GS just give you like 75% of the trade in value if you take cash? So like if you purchased the new console, then traded in the old one after the transfer stuff, you would not get the full $200 in cash right?
new model is out now apparently and is slowly making it’s way into retail.
Also, GS recently made a change reg: trade in credit for consoles. You get the same amount either way.
Hmmm shit okay well if it’s confirmed that GS has the new models, I may do that shit myself too.
EDIT:
Looks like it’s a temp thing until 8/11.
When I traded up for my N3DSXL, the GameStop employee let me take the new one home for a system transfer and then retroactively applied the trade in value when I brought the old one in. I told him up front what I wanted to do and he was totally cool with it.
Edit: To be clear, I paid full price up front, but he credited the trade in amount directly to my debit card.
Yeah. Our store did that a lot too.
It makes sense. I have a feeling that GS probably makes more profit off of selling used gear than new.
Before the think geek acquisition almost all of GameStop’s profit was from used products and in-store offerings like warranties.
It’s why the “circle of life” program was pushed so hard on employees and they were punished for not following it or meeting the criteria’s set by corporate.
Too bad there a little law to prevent that in my area.
if I want to trade in to Game Stop any thing that is a mobile electronics device, we both got to fill out a form for the police. It supposed to stop illegal selling of stolen Phones, but how the law is worded it applies to all mobile electronics.
they do something similar here in Texas. Anything like that gets it’s serial number if it has one entered into a state database that LEOs have access to. Same thing for pawn shops.
Grandia Collection HD launches on 8/16
so, with the preliminary results from the donation center and all of that; I did decide a potential way on how I may end up doing things if I’m allowed to return and donate. If that ends up being the case, I’m probably gonna end up going all-digital and getting a 400gb MicroSD card to start out with.
Really seems to me like you’re trying to borrow from Peter to pay Paul on this Switch dude.
the missus is a absolute miser when it comes to money, especially since her employer gave her access to Dave Ramsey’s materials.
We have 10k in the bank, it’s not gonna break us.
Then i dont get this need to jump through hoops and donate plasma for a video game console. Thats fucking silly imo.
But you do you man.
