Two thumbs up
Wrecking Crew and Donkey Kong 3 are this months NES games.
3 and a half thumbs up.
NSO’s NES Game library is getting a Rewind feature in the July 17th update
Super weird they didn’t unveil this at E3 or for the fall direct
Edit: HAY! it’s got a real d-pad!
Edit II Turbo: Release date is 9/20. $199.99 price point.
Edit III: 3rd Strike: I wonder if they tried to increase the battery life?
September is going to a fucking amazing month for gaming.
Edit 4 Ultra Edition: Limited Edition Pokémon Sword and Shield Switch Lite announced on the Switch’s home page. It won’t embed though so I linked their twitter.
Edit 5 Arcade Edition: There are pages for the Switch Lite on Best Buy but the ability to preorder them has yet to go live.

They are going to sell a shit ton of these during the holiday.
For sure. I think that’s the idea. I think there’s going to be holiday bundles for each model. Aside from Pokémon I’m thinking Luigi’s Mansion 3 being their holiday bundled game. I can’t think of any other game they’d do it with. Maybe MUA3 or Links Awakening?
Doesn’t matter, tbh. It’s going to sell like gangbusters regardless. It’s a really good alternative. Looks a lot more sturdy too.
If the lite has improved battery life I’ll pick it up. I don’t mind using it the Switch I already have as a dedicated home console.
So basically it is a 25% improvement on demanding games.
I don’t see the point. It’s basically the same thing with less features for less money. 2DS reloaded.
Also good luck trying to educate casual consumers about this thing and why you can’t hook it up to the TV like the ads have been telling you for two years now.
Kinda the point?
It’s like you didnt even watch the trailer.
Explaining the difference between the models isn’t fucking rocket science. You dont even need to dumb it down. It’s as simple as saying “The Lite Model doesn’t connect to TV or have detachable controllers. It’s a pure handheld experience.” Which is as easy to undertsand as explaining that the 2DS is the same as 3DS but without the 3d function.
The increase isn’t significant enough. I’ll pass.
I didn’t watch it and neither will parents who buy this for Christmas or those people who gave a bad rating on amazon to every Professor Layton game on 3DS because it didn’t work on their DS.
It’s easy to see this from our perspective. But most people won’t.
Personally I don’t care. I was afraid they’d announce a Switch Pro, which thankfully they didn’t. Switch Lite I can safely ignore.
Then why even say anything?
I wonder why? That is weird.
If the controllers are hard set I would expect so.
Unlikely, battery tech is the one thing that has not been able to keep up.
Still the Switch Mini looks cool, wonder if they are going to do any other colors than State Grey, Baby Power Blue and Yellow later down the line. Hopefully no more pastel colors.
I personally like all the bright colors. Brighter colors; especially pastel give off a vibe of said thing being more inviting. It’s also catches the eye.
That ice is so thin, it might as well crack by just looking at it.
For colors that “pop at you” I like Neon colors more. Pastels tend to be too muted for me.
Like the Powder blue is fine, if they did a green and a orange could be cool too, but I am wondering why pastel yellow out of all the shades of yellow out there. And I doubt pastel pink would be a seller.
We probability see themed Switch Lite’s in the future.
I also want Nintendo to consider doing transparent colors again, like remember the Funtastic Color Series for the N64, they also did some cool transparent colors for the GB Color and GBA.
I like muted colors for my devices. I don’t like for my electronics to pop or stand out in any way. I want them to blend in.
