The Nintendo Switch Thread! - Deadly Premonition 2: Blessing in Disguise 7/10 - Paper Mario: The Origami King 7/17

I don’t know if they’d need the original team just to adapt a port for the Switch. It’s not like they need to completely re-develop the entire game.

Also Nagoshi is a big deal at SEGA now thanks to the continued successes of Yakuza, he’d probably be able to get together some of the old band if Nintendo was willing the cooperate once again.

Now that I’ve seen this trailer I’m actually kinda hype for this. Hopefully it won’t be a $40-50 digital title like LostSphere and I am Setsuna are. Otherwise I’m going have to wait until it’s on-sale

If it is Tokyo RPG Factory, it is definitely going to be digital only outside of Japan at least.

I have no issues with it being digital. I have issues with the potential price point.

It’s been confirmed to be digital-only in the west. With some luck the Japanese version will have English text, just like I am Setsuna.

Here is a interesting Metrovania that getting a Switch release

Also if someone wants a physical copy

Definitely trying to sell the missus on getting a switch for sure, especially for SMM2.

Anyone know if the Joycons can be wielded comfortably with one hand?

Joycons In sideways Game pad mode, meh.
But the Pro controller is great, and there some decent 3rd party options.

reason I ask is the missus has only one hand, her other arm is amputated at the elbow.

Depends on the game, some games lets you use the Joycon like a Wii Remote.
But overall?

Left handed? use the base of the thumb to use the analog stick, and the tip of the thumb for the 4 action buttons. Right hand? not sure.

So if I import a game do I need a Japanese Switch account if they need to be updated or patched?

Thinking about importing Chocobo Mystery Dungeon. But like…I know it’s likely that I do have to make a second account and that it’s probably super super simple but I don’t want to make a secondary account for a single game. That’s insanely dumb to me.

I made a 2nd account when I got my Switch.

its quite common to get a 2nd account for eStore games.

Not positive but I will say a non NA cart gets you no gold points and I think Nintendo’s official stance is that it isn’t guaranteed depending on the game and publisher.

I’ve never made a secondary foreign account for any eshop on any system. There’s never been anything I want badly enough to do so. There still isn’t really.

I just hate the idea of paying $40 for a digital title. Like $25 is pretty much where I top out.

So far in got some of the Sega Ages stuff months early. The game defaults to your system’s language settings

There is no point to make a second account on Switch. You just change the country in your profile and next time you login it will be in the shop of the country you changed to. I did this to get Hollow Knight on the Mexican eShop for half price of the US shop. Then I just changed it back to USA after I purchased it.

I have European and Japanese PSN accounts because they get demos and stuff that we don’t always get over here.

You do want to make a 2nd account as changing accounts screws over stuff. Such as your bonus gold gets wiped. And certain digital games can get locked out if the right acount gets an region change.
But you can set your primary account as a parent

The whole 50 cents or so worth of gold coins I may lose isn’t a big deal and the convenience of 1 account is worth the chump change.

Had her try the demo of Breath of the Wild at Fry’s since we’re out of town. With the Joycons together, she was able to control Link and do attacks, but couldn’t move the camera. If I get a Switch today (chances are pretty fucking high at this point), I’m immediately looking at copping a Pro controller.

I’d say maybe wait until E3 week. Sometimes companies partner with retailers during E3 for hardware sales or bundles.

Smart man. It’s a really good controller. Outside of the handful of times I’ve played my switch undocked I’ve never used my Joycons. Pro controller since day 1.
