Haunted Mansion is kicking my ass something fierce now. I think I know the next puzzle for it. It’s the Supper at Midnight puzzle where three skeletons come out when you activate the clock inside the statue.
I came across one skeleton in the upside down section, but I don’t remember it being there before I got the Dragon talisman. Unless it was there and it respawned? @purbeast
I don’t recall the details but I do remember a lot of backtracking back to the mansion. I don’t want to spoil anything in case you aren’t there yet, but there is a weapon you get that makes backtracking a lot less painful. I remember using it a lot at the haunted mansion. There was a lot of stuff to unlock at the mansion and I just remember not being able to get to a lot of parts until multiple trips back there.
Ok yeah—Cuphead on Switch, man… visually, this looks PERFECT, man…holy shit…I’m not noticing any visual differences from the Xb1 version; the only thing is the loading already pointed out earlier, and that seems to only be noticeably long at the start of the game before the tutorial part. It’s also much quicker once a stage has started and you’re reloading to start over after the (inevitable, haha…game is hard as hell) deaths.
So far I’ve made it past that first flying stage where you fight the strange woman that transforms into things. (Hilda Berg) The art design in this game is truly on another level… I can’t say enough good things about it…they perfectly nailed that “1930s cartoon” look in every possible regard, from the way the characters move, to their reactions, the animations on everything, the colors, the “old film” look to it, the sounds and the way the characters speak, etc. I remember someone in a review or youtube vid said it best----It’s like if video games existed back then, this is exactly how they would look, sound and animate.
Got it. On some bullshit. It was where Peplogoo was and you need to be the snake to do it. I was positive I did the thing I needed to do before, but I pressed a button and bam. Now I have it as an assist and just going through parts I couldn’t before.
Ugh…lol.
Concerning Cuphead. I feel in an alternate universe where the Saturn was successful outside of Japan, this is how 2D games would’ve gone on to look.
A double post about Monster Boy’s Haunted Mansion. That boss fight and lead just before it was pretty damn epic. Definitely the highlight of the game so far.
Map say I’m 86.2% done but it feels like there could be more game to it or I’m near the ending.
Spending money to get the secrets to show up on the map but I get there and it’s still not clear on HOW to get inside the area, which I dig. Really awesome game!
Yeah I ended up buying all of the hints and yes, it’s fun to try and figure out where the hell the chests actually are even after you know the area. A lot of them are not obvious at all.
I take back when I said about looking up stuff. There were like 2-3 chests I looked up. One of them is like a scavenger hunt and no way I would have ever figured that one out. But that is NOTHING compared to the cork.
Yeah, I put my “g4m3r pride” aside, lol, when I bought the hints, haha, and it still presented a challenge, so that was good stuff
I believe I figured out what needs to be done for the cork, but could still be off. I’d spoiler tag it, but I’m on mobile. I’ll update this post about what I think it could be, later.
So I just found out (yesterday) that you can turn the lamps on and off in Lupia. Once I find out how to it for the cork it 's a done wrap. I’m guessing you turn the lamps near the cork, off, and that will let you pop it? But the lights have to be turned off first.
It’s like they’re taking everything that made fire emblem fun and challenging out of fire emblem. I mean, they have since Awakening but this is pretty silly.
Currently collecting gold equipment pieces. I have the sword, armor and (I think) boots. Went back and did the challenge in the castle where the you have to reflect, block and dodge. Finished that up finally, but I wish I didn’t forget that the Switch had record functions. That was mean challenge, haha!
Can’t say I’m too surprised about that. The fact that they got it pressed down on the system and it runs and looks as good as it does is enough black magic. Did you buy it? Still trying to find out who they outsourced it too.
I feel like Starlink is now leaning heavily into anthropomorphic characters now. But new content seems ok, may pick it up if I can find one with the Star Fox amiibo cheap again.
