Yeah it sounds like you are pretty much in the same boat as me at this point as far as upgrades. That ground one I have definitely seen that I can’t get into either. I really don’t want to google anything about this game or search for tips though because I feel if I know what to do and where to find upgrades it won’t quite as rewarding once I get it.
Ok today’s “Daily Challenge” in Dead Cells is literally impossible. I seriously doubt anyone can beat this shit.
You start off with of course…nothing…just a choice of a shitty blood sword that makes you take double damage… or a spear, which is actually a good, fast weapon that also launches a bomb.
You drop down into an area where there’s at least 5 or 6 of those wizard guys that shoot glowing magical projectiles every second…they’re all grouped in 1 spot. This actually wouldn’t be so bad except there’s also a huge golem-looking dude in the mix too. Golem Guy:
- Has a dashing punch.
- Some weird attack where he slams the ground which makes blocks come up…seemingly ALL the ground hurts you when he does this. You WILL take damage unless you happened to be jumping.
- If you manage to run past all this nonsense, Golem Guy also has shoots out some magical lightning bolt that seeks you out instantly…and teleports you back to him. Yeah, you’re snatched right back into the shit like he was Scorpion saying “get over here”. It doesn’t seem like this is avoidable at all.
- Keep in mind the wizard guys are launching those shots every second at ya.
- Also— there’s the green bugs that fly around and explode when they get close to you…for huge damage. Also… since daily challenge is like you starting fresh on another run—your HP is shit low…just a couple of hits and you’re done.
Ohoooooo and I almost forgot to mention that there’s one of those generator devices in this starting area that provides shields of perfect invincibility to the enemies! so yeah…sometimes you can’t even damage any of these guys BRUH. (and of course it’s located BEHIND this initial pack.)
NO WAY someone beats this…absolutely no way. I have not seen anything else in the game that is on par with this craziness.
Oh yeah…and his ground attack STUNS ya too! haha man this is some Battletoads-level shit here…it’s silly. So…if Golem Dude hits you with the ground attack then that’s it because you’re now stunned, and about to receive 2 or 3 fireballs from the wizard guys… or his dash punch…or the green flies that explode…and it’s all unavoidable of course if you got hit with the stunner.
*I did manage to kill the first Golem though just a minute ago…of course there’s other ones though.
Holy shit I made it past the first pack tho! aha! I actually killed the first pack of enemies…but died to an elite Golem though… I figured out something here… oh and the blood sword actually has more dps than the spear so I started taking a chance with that, even though you receive double damage.
I used to own Bayou Billy. That game was hot garbage. That is the kinda crap modern day Konami would put out. Even Captain N the Game Master brought up how hard that game was.
I’ve played just about every game in the Capcom Beat 'Em Up Bundle and Warriors of Fate really surprised me. All five characters fight differently and as fun as hacking away at fools is with a sword, knee dropping mofos with the brawlers is soooo good.
Still have not started my copy of Dead Cells. I had a ton of GameStop points saved up so I used that to pay for Octopath Travler.
Crash Trilogy is $20 today (on all consoles) so I’m gonna snag it for Switch today. It just seems like that game will be great for portability.
I liked the game, it just had absurd difficulty. You had beat em up, zapper, and driving stages. I often wonder how different things would be if they didn’t ratchet up the difficulty of US NES games due to game rentals. If we got the Japanese difficulty levels would our overall view of certain games change?
Dead Cells again----
hell yeah, I actually beat the Time Keeper boss for the first time earlier today… my setup was good but it was really because I had a ton of health and was able to just survive the shit and outlast that bitch…health was over 4000. Of course I had freezing capabilities… the ice bow. That is the shit, man… actually it’s top tier cheapness in just about any game when you have something that can totally immobilize the enemies and leave them wide open for whatever.
yeah, this is easily one of my favorite games of the year.
Splatoon 2 4.0 update is live
Been playing Mega Man 11 and been fun. Defeated half the robot masters already. I usually don’t use the special weapons in Mega Man games but the block dropper is a blast to use. It melts the mini-bosses.
I’ve got a dlc code the MM11 OST if anyone wants it. I’m just not sure how or where to redeem it? It tells me to go to GameStop.com/code for instructions but all it does it tell me how to redeem for x platform.
Well here is the code; if you can figure it out: more power to you and enjoy.
B145LBM652NFQ5S5
Claimed the code.
It’s a code you use to redeem on the eshop.
Nice. It seemed too long to be an eShop code to me and I didn’t think you could claim a music voucher on the eShop either. Either way: ENJOY!
I’ve taken down four Robot Masters so far in Mega Man 11. I am LOVING this Double Gear system. It is a much needed shot in the arm for classic Mega Man. My muscle memory for Mega Man games is something I constantly have to check at the door. It may very well be possible to finish MM11 without the DG system but it is pretty clear they want you to make use of it. I like how even the bosses have DG in them. Fuse Man’s DG powers were NUTS but he was fun to fight. Same with Blast Man, who, BTW has my favorite stage thus far. Capcom really knocked it out of the park with this one.
Just throwing this out there for people who play Splatoon. Don’t forget to choose sides for the trick or treat splatfest. Also make sure to check your news feed for some extra halloween gear.
This current Dead Cells run is a good one…got the “twin daggers III-L” with 2000 [3089] dps +150% damage, a good shield that gives me +300% for attacking right after parry and several other stats like “launches grenade”, my usual Phaser (that “flash step from Bleach” I love so much), the “Double Crossb-o-matic II++”… and my usual mutations +30% hp, +dps for being close to a deployed skill, and + dps for 15 seconds after killing an enemy… I beat Time Keeper pretty damn easily this time and I’m in High Peak Castle right now; just took a break.
With so much damage output this time and a huge health pool (6300+ HP), things are looking good right now
This is kind of a mini review or first impressions for “Super Mario Party”. I played like 3 hours with my brother today after work. Didn’t play online or single player.
Context: I actually don’t own a Switch, but my brother does and he came over with the game. We play Mario Party pretty frequently although it’s from 2-7. Played 8 probably once, in the minority and enjoyed 9 to a certain extent and never touched 10.
Mini Review: I had fun. The mini games do feel shorter than the other entries, but from what I played I thought they were pretty good (even the motion control ones) and a decent amount of the mini games are already unlocked. I really like the roster, personally I think it’s best out of the whole series. Only having 4 boards sucks and I know 2 of them are pretty small. The music game mode feels like 4 player Rhythm Heaven so I enjoyed that a lot.
Really my main issue is that I feel like this game is way too “friendly”, here some changes that I can remember from my head.
(remember that the last Mario Party I played frequently was 7 so if these changes were made in 8-10 then my bad)
Changes
- Stars are only 10 coins. (Think you start with 5 coins).
- You earn at least 2 coins every mini game, doesn’t matter if you lost.
- If you get a buddy they can add up to 4 to your dice roll and I don’t think they ever leave. You can get multiple buddies. Depending on what mini game, buddies can act as an extra life.
- Dice only goes up to 6.
- No land or go pass items.
- You get items pretty frequently, Only 5 coins for a Super Mushroom (Adds 5 to your dice roll).
- Character Dices are pretty good, also you get “buddies” dice if you get them. Wario’s seem to have the best one. -2 coins, -2 coins, rest of the dice is 6.
- Only 2 bonus stars at the end
- Mini games preview screen is vastly improved. Instead of the demo that’s showing it’s a practice session. Which I like a lot.
- AI is pretty easy. I played on Hard and they were still pretty easy.
Think that’s about it. To be honest I’m not sure if it’s worth $60 since it’s only really enjoyable if you play with other people and I’ve seen that online is pretty neutered. Personally I hope that Nintendo doesn’t do pay DLC and instead goes for free updates like Mario Aces and Splatoon.
A little too friendly, but still a enjoyable Mario Party.
I ended up getting to the Hand of the King this past weekend. I am now beating Time Keeper pretty damn easily with the double-o-matic weapon. That thing deals a lot of damage.
I finally got the damn Rune that breaks through the floor which let me finally get to the ancient sewers and face that boss the first time. I lost to him yesterday night the first time I faced him but hopefully today I have some time to get back to him and hopefully beat him. It’s a weird battle, but I believe I get the wall climb rune afterwards.
So, Starlink appeared on the ‘available soon’ tag on the eShop today. You know, one of those games that needs to download extra files of 15GB even if you buy it at retail. Turns out the game is 12.7GB when you download it from the eShop.
So the question here is: are they putting basically empty cartridges with a pre-build download code in those boxes or what?
With some publishers you never know.
I don’t see starlink having a very long shelf life. It’s a toys to life game which haven’t been relevant in almost 4 years.
Maybe if it gets great buzz, word of mouth and the Star Fox sections are on point. The game doesn’t require the toy stuff if what they say at E3 is true. It is there as a bonus and easy way to customize the ships.
