The Nintendo Switch Thread! - Deadly Premonition 2: Blessing in Disguise 7/10 - Paper Mario: The Origami King 7/17

I was expecting for the Switch version to be a port of the 3DS game. I think didn’t they would try to port the PS4 version.

Man, a port of the existing 3DS game on the Switch?
That would look like ass.

I’m fine with DQXI being delayed on the switch seeing as I had no intention to buy it on the switch. -shrug-

I’m glad I’ve gotten the chance to play Psyiko SHMUPs via the Switch. Gunbird and Zero Gunner were a lot of fun and I’ve just added Samurai Aces, Tengai and Dragon Blaze to my digital library.

Personally, I was hoping they do something with the PS4 style graphics but also the ability to switch to the retro 2D style graphics they put in the 3DS version as well.

That still might be the case but I get the feeling, and the fact that they are stating using an outdated UE is the main reason that they haven’t even shown it, seems like they are just going to do a quick dirty port with probably minimum thrills or additions.

I have about 30 hours into Xenoblade 2 and I’m not feeling this game. I don’t like the flow of combat at all. Even the jobber enemies have huge health pools that make battles drag even with all the combos I hit it with. The AI for your party can be dumb. I saw Nia and Tora charge at an enemy into a pool of acid and saw their life drain without a care. There’s no options to change their behavior or switch characters during combat. I’m not very far but I’m not motivated to continue playing it.

I preordered DKC the other day. Looking forward to checking that out on the Switch as I never played it on the Wii-U. It’ll be perfect to play on my flights to/from the Bahamas in May as well.

y’know, I’m so close to just buying Wonderful 101 if I can find it at this point… getting tired of waiting for a Switch port… I’ll try and hold out for E3 to see whatever they announce, but there was always a very low expectation of that getting ported in the first place, since it’s not as popular as the other WiiU games, sadly.

Bayonetta 2— 55 hours at this point, finished Infinite Climax difficulty… and I’m still playing and enjoying it every day. I’m doing the Witch Trials now…and the difficulty there ramps up to insane levels pretty quick… so far I’m at Witch Trials IV.

Platinum kind of teased something 101 related but not sure how that will pan out. I want more people to play that game so I’d be easily happy if it got ported.

Didn’t w101 use the Wii U pad mainly? (I owned the game but never played it). If so I don’t see it coming to the switch.

It did and it used it pretty well but I’m pretty confident that the game could be fixed to not be pad dependent. That and drawing the symbols was actually more efficient and dare I say easier using the right analog stick.

Bayo 2-- sheeeeeit, Witch Trials IV complete annnnd with a Platinum rank! Of course… I have no shame and was using the ridiculously OP Rosa. This 4th with trials goes on for a long ass time with several tough enemies… with Balder at the end of it… on to Witch Trials V then…

so much time on this… parts 1 and 2 have been ALL I’ve played on Switch since they were released on 2/16…

*oh and that theme for Balder is still one of the greatest boss themes of all time, man…

For all the different environment options they seem to be giving I hope Octopath Traveler has branching paths or endings to make experimentation worth it. It would be a waste if all one need do is bull rush through the game with token usage of the individual systems.

You’d think there would be 8 different endings. But there will likely only be one. Maybe 2.

Yeah, it will probably be two but I would prefer at least four with your rep having an influence as well. But it is easy to say that and not have to program all that so I will hope they just don’t fuck it up.

I bought Danmaku Unlimted 3 off the eShop. Holy balls is this a terrific SHMUP. Letting bullets graze you to up your score is a great risk/reward mechanic and I’m digging the different weapon/beam setups you can do.

I also bought Strikers 1945, Strikers 1945 II and And Aero Fighters 3. The Switch is turning into a SHMUP machine. Now if only we could get the Gradius games on this baby along with Ikaruga and Battle Garegga. Could use some CAVE love as well.
