Maybe at some point some company will go back and give The Matrix the proper game it deserves. I want that or a really good John Wick game. I’ll take both if possible.
Trying to call them now and it keeps hanging up when it says “Please listen to the following options…”
Think I’m going to roll by their (U.S.) headquarters since I’m pretty close to it.
EDIT: Got through right after I posted this. Game is downloading now. All is well.
got my game last night near the cutoff time and my Bayo 1 code worked (YAY!). Never played either game but I already love them. right now im waiting for Immortal Redneck, which comes out next week I think. That one is a rougue-like FPS game with Gyro aiming, something DOOM didnt have. Which means Im most likely going to buy that when it comes out.
Thankfully I had a working code for my copy of Bayo.
Apparently Rodin gives hints about what Bayo has been up too after Bayo 2 if you use certain amiibos
As long as the code doesn’t start with the letters URPH, your code will work. Mine URPH’d. It seems to be the copies from Amazon that had that code.
I’m all good now. Bayonetta: Never Leave Home Without Her.
sheeeeeit, I forgot how tough the “Fairness” enemies were, man… those are the big dog-like angels… some of their attacks are basically immediate damage with something silly maybe 0.0002 seconds of startup animation…and of course, I’m still not at the point where the Grace & Glory duo show up, which I think most fans agree are 2 of the more memorable enemies for how ridiculous they are…yeahhhh some younger generations that are playing this for the first time might be tempted to throw a controller/joycon on occasion
*currently on part 1…and I have her wearing the Princess Peach costume, of course.
Ugh. Walmart moves back the shipment date AGAIN! So instead of getting it this Tuesday I’ll be getting it this Thursday.
2 days usually wouldn’t be a big deal to me but they already failed on promising release day delivery to me, pushing it back until Tuesday and now this.
Fucking Walmart.
I’m just going to go to GameStop tomorrow after Black Panther and grab a copy.
Yeah. Already seeing the complaints (and praises) for the first game kicking people asses around the 'net. I think having your movement and attacks not tied to huge start-up/recovery is throwing people off. Which is always the case since a lot of the ‘hard’ games usually restrict you in some way so you have to take things slower, where here you are given just about free reign to cancel anything, but the enemies are designed to keep pace with it.
Grace and Glory seem to be the “difficulty spikes” which isn’t a surprise.
Still don’t get the complaints about the “insta-death QTEs” and After Burner and Space Harrier homages. Bayo2 has more ‘gimmicky’ sections than the first, but the first Bayo gets docked for having two, lol.
EDIT: Seeing A TON more talk about Dodge Off-set and linking to Yoshesque’s Off-set video this time as well which is also awesome, since that’s the ‘secret sauce’ for this series, so that’s very cool. Even first timers (going by their words) are bringing it up more than in the past, when I’ve seen Bayonetta come up as a topic, gives me hope for the future.
Good shit Tecmo Koei
Im now leaning even more to buying this game again
Item card shop is a definite welcomed addition
Well, yeah the instant-death QTE is indeed one of the only things that annoyed the crap out of me in Bayonetta. That first one (*I think it’s the first-- where you’ve been running on walls to escape lava, then have to jump from a falling building or something) has such a slim frame of time to react… that if it is your first time playing it, you WILL die unless you happen to have Wolverine-level reaction time (and I fully realize most gamers probably like to brag they *are *actually on that level that they could Matrix-dodge bullets in real life if they had to…yeah ok, guys :get_outta_here: ). Inside the same second you see “Y” or whatever pop up on the screen…it is already too late to press the button, and that’s some cheap bullshit, imo  Basically, it’s a “better guess right in about 0.03 of a second” or death situation for the first-time seeing that.
Yeah, Bayonetta 1 had some cheap QTE events that more than once made it impossible for a clean level run if you were off, fuck the spinning church. Glad they toned it down in the sequel.
The first QTE in it was the one at the end with the Golem (?) at the end of Chapter 1, where it required you to do Up + Jump. After that I was just prepared for them. Someone at that other forum, broke down how they P* used color coding and sound effects to know which ones to look for, since the game was originally designed for the 360 exclusively so it made more sense on that controller. The user handle looked familiar and I think it’s the same guy who used to post really useful info on Miiverse when it came to the P* games on Wii U.
I liked that I had to pay attention to the game even when playing. I like the fast QTEs in the Yakuza:Kiwami as well so I know I’m an outlier on those sorts of things though. Wouldn’t mind seeing Bayo3 do away with QTEs altogether, honestly. I don’t do them at the end of Climax finishers either unless it’s absolutely required, for the most part.
On another note: I hope the change the sound effects and add more oomph to them in Bayo3. In 2 there’s a certain character’s guns that have an eargasmic boom to them when holding down P or K that’s just so satisfying, but if you use the shoot button, the gun sounds like a pea shooter, lol. Not sure what is up with that.
Think I’m going to double-dip on the MM collection for Switch as well. I ended up getting the first one digital and the second one on a disc for the PS4, so it’s hilarious that I’ll (at some point) have the first one on physical, with the second as a download on another system.
Kind of interested in this
Coming out in October. Encylopedia on Mario stuff all the way up to Super Mario 3D World.
Contemplating ordering it or whether I should hope that my comic shop gets one in.
Uh hey about this, DOOM just received a patch a couple of hours ago that has added gyro aiming as a control option.

Apparently it also fixes some audio and menu issues among other changes but the official patch notes aren’t out yet.
Just finished my first (of many) playthrough of Bayonetta and just watched a few cut scenes near the end since it had been forever since I’ve seen them. My first playthrough of the 360 version was when I watched them which was about a year after it had been released (skipped them on the Wii U) and forgot a lot. It was good refresher and answered, story wise, where Bayonetta 3 is going to go. Crazy looking at it again after Bayonetta 2 and seeing the 3 announcement.
Gonna hit up Tag Climax in 2 later on and just start going ham, haha.
Really glad Doom has gyro controls but I think I’ll just stick with the PS4 version. I’m curious how well they are implemented. Gyro was fantastic in Splatoon and BotW, but had a game like Gravity Rush, didn’t have Gyro near as smooth. Still cool to see, but not sure I can get down with graphical and performance. downgrade.
