The Nintendo Switch Thread! - Deadly Premonition 2: Blessing in Disguise 7/10 - Paper Mario: The Origami King 7/17

I ordered a micro SD card from amazon (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B073JY5T7T/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_aLWHAb3AW4AYA)

Is there anything I need to do to it once I get it in order for the switch to recognize it or do I just pop it in and it recognizes it? I have no idea about these kinda things which is why I’m asking

That’s the same one I have in my Switch. You don’t have to do anything other than pop it in. The Switch will handle the formatting.

If you ever want to manage the SD card go to System Settings > Data Management. There you can change whether to save screenshots and clips on the SD card or internal system storage. You can also quick archive your games. This deletes the game software, but keeps all your save files.

The Switch always keeps save data on the internal 32GB storage. Any future games you download will go to the SD card. If you want to put your older games on the SD card, you have to archive them first, then re-download them. Unfortunaltey, Nintendo doesn’t let you do a straight transfer from internal storage to SD card.

Good to know. Thanks.

I Don’t trust Walmart to deliver anything but annoyance. Amazon had the 23/25th date as they were sold out of their supply already
I rather wait for weeks then to step foot into a walmart.

More proof Nintendo don’t know how the internet works.

Got mine the DL code for Bayo doesn’t work, so it’s just Bayo2 today. Already talked to Nintendo and have to do a few things for it but haven’t received the e-mail from them yet…

Bayo2 runs like a dream so far. The difficulty names are changed from the Wii U release to the more standard Easy, Normal, Hard. Starting on Hard.

Yeah apparently the invalid code for bayo one isn’t an issolated incident. It’s been all over. Some people are lucky to have their codes work but most aren’t so lucky. Call Nintendo. They should be able to get a new code for you.

I guess some of you guys don’t live and/or work near a game-selling store…? I still don’t get the appeal of ordering something as opposed to just dropping by a place to actually get it, usually within a matter of minutes. Anyway, I was going to wait until after work but I couldn’t help myself…got mine on lunch hour today.
…see, the awesome thing about portable gaming—I got the game and was able to start it up while sitting at a certain intersection with notoriously long red light… then on my afternoon break at work, there I am in the game already kicking the ass of sooo many angels in style with my honey Bayo.

Whatever other country that was got a slightly better deal though… I’d MUCH rather have had both games on carts… I’m downloading part 1 right now and the estimated time when it started = 3 hours, 29 minutes

The nearest Best Buy to me is almost an hour drive. Nearest GameStop is even farther. There is a Walmart down the street from my house but it’s a smaller store and their stock is barely up to date. Their gaming section of their electronics is abysmal. Thus why I order online 99% of the time. I also just hate interacting with people. It’s my job for 40 hours a week to interact with people. I get tired of interacting with people. I just want to shop at my leisure online

Also amazon prime nets me 20% off any new game and release day delivery (usually) Where as only Best Buy can even come close because of their Gamer Club program. That said, I don’t like going to Best Buy cause their customer service is usually shit and their employees are lazy.

I think I am going to look into the Asian English language version as “I heard” it comes with Bayo 1 on the game card

Because it’s much easier to go to work, come home and have a game sitting on my porch or in my house. It saves me 20-30 minutes of time going to a store to get the same damn thing. Plus I don’t have to deal with actual people and asked 50 questions about preordering games (at Gamestop) or about service plans for a fucking game (at Best Buy) or dealing with Walmart clientele and employees. Oh and all games are 20% off at launch on amazon since I have prime.

I’m lucky to have Best Buy right near the crib. It’s easy to just stop in on the way home from work. Plus I have rewards and shit with them, so it’s worth it. I also like to go look at the flatscreens and other cool shit. My wife hates going there with me.

sheeeeeit, this intro sequence on the first Bayonetta, man…it’s still one of the greatest ever. It’s tough to pay attention to the voice-over though because so much awesome shit is going on visually at the same time, along with this epic music blasting in the background, angels coming from all directions trying to beat up on Bayo and Jeanne… it’s legendary.

There’s plenty of game stores where I live. I have a gamestop and a few mom and pop stores within walking distance. I like ordering online as games are usually left in my mailbox and I love that convenience. I can come from work and it’s there waiting for me.

I’ve taken whatever trips I had to in order to physically pick up a game on release, whether it involved a 5 minute walk, a bus ride (or two), or getting a ride from someone. Now I just pick it up at work, but I always kinda enjoyed the “journey” to getting a game I was excited for.

…that’s also considering most places didn’t deliver to where I lived because they deemed it too dangerous lol

I do but because everything is so packed together with traffic and congestion seemingly all day and night. A ~10 minute trip can turn into a 30+ minute trip. I tried Amazon again because when I ordered Super Mario Odyssey from them, they delivered it on release day in the morning which saved me an extra commute and time. I’m all about that convenience.

Playing Celeste. I died 78 times but cleared chapter 1!

y’know, this is one of the fastest-growing collections I’ve had on a system… we’re just now approaching the 1-year mark of Switch and I already have 17 games for it…ohhhh it’s definitely good times every day with this…

*Cool thing-- the movie-clip feature works with Bayonetta, btw…so you could make clips of your finest moments to enjoy again and again later. Sheeeeeit, that feature should just be standard for all future console eras. I use it all the time on the Xbox 1 too… I still don’t have PS4 but I’d use it there as well…it’s fun to look back on some great moments or post them for your friends to check out…oh and that’s what Nintendo should do, but I doubt they would…make it so you can post clips and pics for people on your friend list to check out…*edit—eh, yeah most people would use the feature for posting to facebook or twitter but fuck all that nonsense. I can’t stand facebook at all, really…I realize that I’m sadly in the extreme minority on that opinion. I don’t give a fuck about using twitter either.

They had a system in place for that was great…aand decided to get rid of for this console. I miss miiverse…

ohooooo I forgot about Miiverse! I’ll admit I never used it though…

*As much as I love Bayonetta as a game franchise… I wouldn’t be as excited about being a movie… because a movie would not really be able to match the action we’ve already seen in the games…and gaming as a medium is the superior format for this type of thing anyway due to that element of interactivity.

sheeeeit…and in a roundabout way that reminds me of The Matrix —it’s a damn tragedy that NO ONE is currently trying to make a game off that. There was ***one ***half-ass looking game back in the GC/PS2/Xbox era…and some MMO if I recall that never even got started. That’s a damn shame, man. I was a big fan of those movies, but I think it would be even more entertaining as a “stylish-action”-focused game. Really, that’s gold there and nobody in this industry apparently realizes it… imagine the crazy antics and gameplay style of a DMC or Bayonetta…with a wildly popular franchise name like “THE MATRIX” on it…netting a good portion of sales on name alone. It’s insane that an IP like that to be just sitting around not making retarded amounts of money.
