They changed the analog stick to white (lame), and adjusted a couple of minor things. That thing is packing 96 MB of RAM though. That’s damn near X360, that’s insane.
That some seriously fugly design. Looks like a prototype with all of the ill-fitting parts. Needs a matte finish, too
I was going to buy a replacement for my DS lite this Christmas holiday. However, I got sidetracked by the DSIxl limited edition red/black Mario version. I bought that shit on impulse and I should be ashamed of myself. Despite the low expectations I had for the system, it managed to impress me somewhat.
At least I got free Mario Kart.
Thankfully the DS I just bought from a friend is a DS Lite. I had a DSi but I did not like it because I kept getting that GBA cartridge itch. Kept wanting to play games like Bomberman Tournament, Superstar Saga, Golden Sun 1 and 2, Robopon, Demikids, Sword of Mana and the GBA pokemon (especially FRLG)
DSlite will be fine until the 3DS. I can’t wait for Kingdom Hearts 3D.
I realized I don’t own a single GBA cartridge anymore, so I could buy a DSI without any inconvenience to myself. I sold my GBA and all the games when I discovered the wonders of VBA. Speaking of FRLG I wonder whatever happened to Lorelei. I liked her better than that psychic guy from GSC/HGSS.
The actual news was hand-held gaming becoming the future of the gaming industry.

There’s a thread on gaf about the battery life on the system. I don’t know if it’s true or not because the website won’t even load but I hope it isn’t. 3-5 hours for 3DS games and 3.5 hrs to charge. If that’s true that is not cool…and could probably severely cut into sales of this initial model of the system…There’s probably going to be a good chunk of people who will wait on a ‘lite’ version of this…Even I’m considering it.

Sakurai completely redeemed Konami’s presentation. Kid Icarus looks quite interesting.
yeah I read that on engadget and it immediately made me think about waiting, and this was after a friend of mine who went played it at Nintendo World was raving about it. I really want it, but that battery life sucks and I’m sure it has a finite amount of charges after which the battery life will only get worse. I only hope the games I’m most hype for aren’t launch titles…
There’s speculation that the life that’s been presented is the 3DS at full power (brightness all the way up, wifi on, 3d on full, etc) which I hope that’s the case. After watching the Kid Icarus presentation yesterday it boosted my hype back up but nowhere near what it was before. So I’m already predicting that what I may end up doing is buying the damn thing and then for once in my life actually trade the system in and get the upgraded version. Reason I know that is because I’m sure…once they show a trailer for OOT 3DS it’ll probably end up breaking me…even more so with MK3DS.
It’s kinda sad to because the battery life on the DS was one of the pillars that made the system a money machine. I would have thought Nintendo could have easily have seen that even if they couldn’t see what makes cinnamon toast crunch taste great.

March is going to be an expensive month too much stuff coming out that month.
yeah man, long trips are nothing as long as I have my DS with me. Every time we went on a field trip somewhere in Japan, there would be multiple groups of people playing massive games of MKDS. soo much fuckin fun. and then me and 3 friends started Final Fantasy CC on DS, and we were hooked on that for a long time too. though I’ll probably do the same, buy it on launch and trade it in. I’m kinda bummed because my GF just bought me an XL last May for a graduation/early bday gift.
I won’t be able to enjoy the 3D effect from the 3DS because I only have one functioning eye. All the 3DS hype makes me kind of sad knowing this.
It is so very “ABOUT GATDAM TIME!!!” that there was a new Kid Icarus.
I wonder if we’ll get a Medusa “Sweet-spot” again?
As I see it.
What really killed my once mad hype for the 3DS was the lack of dual analog. Why?
Simple, it makes games that require the use of analog(like Kids Icarus) impossible to play for a south paw like me. So disappointed that Miyamoto didn’t bother finding a solution to it, considering he was once a left(switched all of a sudden during the late DS and early wii era).
Heads up guys Ghost Trick is coming out this week on NDS!
