I just got a DS. Came with Pokemon Platinum, and Viewtiful Joe. It’s pretty fun. I’ve put my ass to sleep like 4 times on the can already.
I’ll have to travel a lot soon, so I got me some Chrono Trigger.
I never had it for SNES, started playing it once on an emulator, but for some reason stopped playing. Now is the time…
Also, new Ace Attorney(Or Ace Prosecutor) must be mine.
Just finished dawn of sorrow. Great game. I’d really like to play the other two ds castlevania games- anyone care to tell me how they compare?
I’ve only played Portrait of Ruin after finishing Dawn of Sorrow. I thought it was pretty awesome. I wasn’t hardcore enough to take full advantage of the 2 character system though. (You’re supposed to use the stylus simultaneously to direct your secondary character at other enemies)
It’s pretty much the same game though, except for the 2 characters at the same time thing.
Make sure to play Julius mode; it’s worth it.
The other two games are good, especially Order of Ecclesia. The latter is more challenging and has more outdoor areas.
The 2 other ones are GREAT. Order of Ecclesia will punish you for being stupid. Like 4 hits in a boss battle and you’re dead.
can you give me a bit more info about Julius mode? How does it differ from the main game (other than the obvious)? Are the level structures different, is there a substantially different script and order of events; different weapons etc? Can you attack with anything other than his weapons? (I presume there is no use of souls or an equivalent?)
Let me just say this: if you’re a fan of Castlevania 3, then you’ll enjoy Dawn of Sorrow’s Julius mode. Waaaay better than Aria of Sorrow’s version. Story is different but very minimal, maps are the same, but the final boss is totally new.
Mario and Luigi 3 is the DS’s best game of 2009. It has like two minor blemishes (a couple of irritating yet mandatory minigames). The rest of the game is solid gold.
Sands of Destruction is laughably ridiculous in every way.
Dr. B upgraded his Y button attacks like a champion BUT THAT DIDN’T SAVE HIM, FLESHBAGS. B STRIKES THE SIDES OF HIS GHOST CAGE WITH 55-HIT COMBOS DAY AND NIGHT. HIS STAMINA IS ADMIRABLE BUT FOOLISH. SOON HIS POWER WILL FEED THE HIVE MIND LIKE CHEESE FEEDS A CHEESE-LOVING MIND.

Picked up and played some Glory of Hercules, pretty good game for being on the DS, seems complex from the limitied amount of playing I did on it with the battles and the like.
finally ace attorney is out today (got a text from gamestop saying its out today anyway) so gonna grab that later. can’t wait
