Review while playing:
I’m mixed on some of the changes to Phantasy Star Online’s latest entry. Okay, so Grinding development is more deeper in this game compared to Phantasy Star Zero’s predecessor, Phantasy Star Online. It becomes frustrating with the trigrinders. I’m also surprised that my mag can eat almost anything now. I fed it some shields because I feel as if the shield is the most useless weapon in the game. My mag’s defense was sufficed by it, which was cool. Back to the shield: How do I know if my character is getting the proper bonus after activating the Photon Art? there is no indication of it and I hardly see the difference. Unless if the shield doesn’t give off the defense bonus that I thought it would. I am currently seeing if there is a change of pace during tactic switching. Of course, it’s something I like seeing in a game if there is a difference. If I see Kai pushing front lines after I told him to stay back, the system is flawed. I had to read the instruction guide about some stuff in PS0 but I don’t mind it. Whatever makes the game enjoyable. Also, having the game allow you to sync PBs with the NPCs. Damn that’s cool!
Question: how do you replenish health outside of the field? Are there no medics around? I loathe using my healing stuff in a city. And when is everyone else on(like time)?

Have they set a date for dragon quest VI and IX?

I believe that the DSi LL has not yet been announced for US release, and the other two games have not yet had a confirmed release date.

I have this strange feeling that I’m about to beat Normal mode in Phantasy Star Zero soon. I beat the fifth boss or so last night and they are getting deeper into the story. I’ve finally mastered the Gunblade weapon and the HuMAR is at 25. I saw Blue RAPPIES 
i wish i didn’t hop on the dsp bandwagon and waited for the xl. but honestly, aren’t they released the same year? i get new technology and the jump, and paying to be the guy who gets it first, but i do honestly feel a little ripped. oh well. excited about the new dragon quest, my ds has been collecting dust for a few months.

Damn Spirit Tracks is pissing me off.
I’m stuck getting the tracks to the sand dungeon because of the stupid pan flute bullshit. If it isn’t the mic giving me problems, then it’s me not playing the notes at the right time, even though I think I am. I’m sure there was at least one other person here with the same problem.
Yea I had trouble getting the Ocean Temple to open, I have ZERO musical talent and it took me a good 3 hours (not all at once over the course of many days) to get those damn notes right :mad: and travel right now is super boring, I need to open up those “warp zones” :mad:
I finally got through Spirit tracks. If you hate the pan flute hero and train parts, wait till you get to the last boss -_-
The last song you have to do gives you no practice and you have 2 note jumping (when two notes aren’t next to each other), fucking pain in the ass.
And I seriously recommend saving up your shit for the Gold train set.
Another thing that annoyed me was the Pirate hideout minigame. That is until you get the bow of light then it’s way too fucking easy.
I’m considering getting the DSi XL when it comes out next year. Does anyone here have the Japanese model, because I have some questions:

How is it, ergonomically? Do the L and R buttons feel better? Is the D-pad bigger?

How do non-DSi games look on it with the larger screen? Do they use the whole screen or do they use the original resolution?
Anyone with a DSi know if those adapters for the micro sd cards work with it?
Add me to the problems people are having when it comes to Spirit Tracks. Can’t seem to ever get the pre-Fire Temple song right… taking so long

Dude don’t ever blow into game paks. This shit drives me insane whenever someone does this in front of me. The spit in your breath helps the game’s components rust and damage. Use canned airs instead, that’s what those are for.
