The Nintendo DS thread v.2

  • Try Clubhouse Games! You’re getting more bang for your buck(like 42 games)! It should have that there, a 2 player mode, as well as a waaay better GUI to boot!

Glory Days 2 is out this month (hopefully).

What the fuck is up with these Megaman rpgs? Just bring out Advent ffs.

I hope Worms 2 has wfc. It’ll be a complete fuck up if it doesn’t.

Puzzle Quest is too good.
RPG + puzzle game, sounds weird but it is so much fun and addictive. It is being ported to almost every system it seems with versions for ds and psp out now.
Here is a link to a pc demo if anyone wants to try it. http://www.gamedaily.com/canvases/gd/_a/download-puzzle-quest-demo/20070315101009990002
ds obviously isn’t going to have the same quality graphically, but the gameplay is solid.

Puzzle Quest is orgasmic, but it has the cheapest AI ever. Somehow, they end up being luckier than you. Still addictive. And hell, I think it could even be played competitively.

So I guess they won’t transfer the file over…

interesting, but im looking for something Chessmaster-esque. i basically want the equivalent of whatever that is on the DS, which so far looks like none exists.

YellowS4: what’s shach? is it a real game or just another attempt at witty SRKcasm?

Nope, they didn’t transfer anything. I’m glad I stopped playing shortly after I first bought it. Just from playing last night, I already made it further in the game than I had on my original copy.

The japanese version is out. That’s never stopped you before

Has anyone picked up Hoshigami DS yet? From what I read about the PsOne version, it blew ass, but maybe this one is a suitable tactics game.

This man speaks truth. The only thing is, I’m wondering why it was kept very low key when AW is such a huge property in the US.

That, and I hope that Tag Battles are excluded. The whole concept of moving twice in one turn was very poorly conceived. . .there’s a reason why Eagle’s COP in AW1 had massive atk/def penalties and why his SCOP bar is so long in AW2/AWDS. Moving twice in one turn is inherently broken.

No, I actually heard it’s still really hard and not even fun. But that’s only what I heard. I’ll still give it a go.

I’m thinking about getting DS or a PSP for my birthday (yesterday). I want a DS because everybody says it has a great library of games (and somewhat of a superiority over the PSP). I want a PSP because of it’s multimedia capabilities and most of the games aren’t bad (I also have a UMD lying around of Ghost in the Shell that I got in a Ninja Scrolls DVD for free a few weeks ago).

My 23 year-old cousin in Baltimore said he was going to give me his PSP when he got it back from his girlfriend in summer of 06 (he gives most of his stuff away if he doesn’t like it). Now a year later he finally has it and the bastard now said that he was selling it to one of his friends:sad:. He already has the money too! That’s why I now have a choice and most gamers hate choices when it comes to hardware.

Depends on what kind of games you want to play. PSP has some really good titles that are coming out soon, and some solid stuff right now. FFT and the remake Castlevania are on the horizon, and the Megaman remake/MGS: PO/Lumines are all titles out now that are reasonably decent.

For the DS, you have more nonconventional quirky stuff. Elite Beat Agents is fun (basically DDR for your hands), Advance Wars is amazing, Kirby: Canvas Curse is extremely innovative, and Animal Crossing is strangely addictive. New Super Mario was pretty crappy, though.

I have both

Modded psp gives DS a run for it’s money

But I still wub my DS a lot more.

Think of 2 games that you must play on both systems.

Which ever ones grab you most is the system you need to pick up.

I thought about getting it, but I read the same thing from just about every place I checked. Hell, I even read that the touch controls were poorly implemented or something like that. Not like it matters since my strategy RPG game is weak and I would probably never make it through since it’s supposed to be difficult.

Dragon Quest Heroes: Rocket Slime owns all things; past, present and future.

Happy belated birthday.

I own a DS, and sometimes I wish I had a PSP instead. The PSP doesn’t have many games, but now you can play PSX games on it. Chrono Cross? FFVII? Legend of Dragoon? The millions of other games that aren’t JRPGs that I can’t think of right now?

Emulation works great on the PSP too. SNES emulation is only a bit decent on the DS.
