The Nintendo DS thread v.2

DSi comes out in North America on April 5 for $169.99. Also, Rhythm Heaven comes out the same day (Rhythm Tengoku DS in Japan)

I gotta cop that DQ V even though I haven’t finished DQ IV.

Chair, check them PMs son!

Has anyone heard about the dsware for this thing? I don’t really care about the other features (camera and all) so the dsware would be the only reason for me to retire my ds lite.

Yeah, so far. I find myself replaying Apollo Justice since the Fire Emblem remake was an absolute disappointment. :\

DQ5 is not meh you pitiful losers. Then again I never seen the list, and not really care, if there is a game I like I’ll get it.

You got another 8 months before you can say that. I can only hope more good games are coming this way.

I am personally looking forward to FF: Rings of Fate.

I wonder if my bro sold his NDS, I ain’t giving him mine to satisfy his FF curbs :stuck_out_tongue:

ugh… some things never change. Do they finish their combos at least?

Perhaps.

  • You mean *Echos of Time. *Yes, yes it is! A definite purchase!

  • Come on! FE being bad?!

^^
The AI finishes their combos, they still suck though.

And the DS lineup is looking pretty strong imo. GTA, tons of stuff from Square-Enix, and a nice front from Atlus should give you plenty, especially if you like RPGs. If you don’t, then yeah, it’s pretty soft.

Didn’t Fire Emblem DS use sprites in the original trailer? Or am I going senile?

CAG is reporting that DQ V is $10 off at Toys R Us. So that would make it $30.

By the way, I like DQ V a lot, feels much better (to me) than DQ IV.

New Puzzle Quest is out

Just bought Bangai-O Spirits and I’m loving the hell out of it. :lovin:

If this deal applies to the Canadian stores as well, I know where I’m heading after work…

Picked it up yesterday. Some quick impressions…

You no longer choose a class; instead you choose your gender, and sadly, there’s only one avatar to choose. Also, the game completely depends on stylus controls now, but that’s OK since puzzle games work best on the DS. PQ autosaves your game like before, except now it’s noticeable, and for some reason, there’s some slight loading whenever the screen changes. I guess it’s because the game is huge now. There’s a lot more to do now, and the world map is massive. I totally expect this game to last *at least * 50 hours.

^Sweet, hope there is gonna be an ability similar to the one the Warrior had in the first game by turning red spheres into skulls >=)

Come on, you know that shit was way too broken. I haven’t come across anything broken yet, but I’m not far in the game.

I forgot to mention that the battles are faster paced, due to how much damage you can inflict now. Mines (this game’s version of skulls) come in various damage numbers as opposed to just 1 and 5. They also seem to appear frequently.

…but it was awesome! Especially when u fight Lichs :stuck_out_tongue:

I cant wait to play Dragon Quest 6, even though I head it didnt sell as well as DQ5 in japan.

DQ6 is supposed to be the best in the series, though. It was the rival to FF6 in Japan, but it never came out in America. I was hoping they’d keep the same sprite style as the SNES version, but it looks like they’re putting it in the same style as all the other DQ remakes.

But they gave it a good score. Are you implying that it isn’t a good game? Because…

So I’m really unsure of what you’re trying to say here. Are you just doing the “popular hate” on something because a site doesn’t agree with your tastes?

Yeah, lord knows that they’re “cunts” for not knowing about a niche game. Get the fuck over yourself.
