The Nintendo DS thread v.2

Well, given that your tight for cash maybe you should search for it over the internet and invest in a supercard/m3/r2 or whatever. Buy the games you like, delete the ones you don’t. This has been saving me a lot of money lately.

lol i was unemployed (approx. 6 months ago)

i have a legit job now.

thanks for looking out though.

quick question about the ds lite battery. i’m under the assumption that it’s your run of the mill lith-ion battery, and i know that when you leave it plugged it when it’s fully charged too much, it hurts the battery life, and lowers the total power capacity. what i want to know is, does it hurt the battery to plug in my ds while i’m playing it, when it’s low or full charged?

I believe lithium-ion batteries do not get damaged when they’re left charging.

i had a cell phone a couple years ago that i would leave charged all the time, and after about a couple months, it wouldn’t charge anymore. i’d get like a couple hours of idle time before it would just die, and i was told it was because i left it in the charger for extended periods of time, even though it was full.

Lithium-ion batteries can lose up to 20% of permanent capacity per year. It’s just the nature of the chemistry.

so as far as leaving my DS plugged in for any amount of time in any state, that should just be normal in how it affects the battery?

Suikoden on DS? Oh yes: http://gamekyo.com/news28766_suikoden-ds-new-images.html

New Castlevania OoE trailer.

That looks amazing. Hopefully they didn’t show everything in that trailer.

Goddamn, Shanoa is a beast.

I can’t see the trailer at work, but I hear its amazing. I’m kind of glad I’m skipping out on the trailer though just so I can be more amazed when I actually play the game. They’re shooting for a halloween release, right?

I finally finished Dragon Quest Monsters: Joker. It was pretty good, but I can’t wait for a proper Dragon Quest game to come out (DQIV next month!). Going to move on to TWEWY I think…

Who’s excited about Rock Revolution DS?

…what what now?

i never dispatch any of my units for any quests. I like to play each quest, just for the writing. that’s probably why it’s taking me so long.

oh, and can someone explain to me the “MVP” system? my Moogle Fusilier is one. Charm/Stop Shot FTW.

  • MVP just makes your character more successful with dispatch quests. MVP status, in combat, is rewarded to a character who displays excellent skills on the playing field. The character has to hit every single bad guy, or assists other members of the team, simultaneously. As well as hit the most. Almost every turn of the MVP character has to be a support or an attack action. Smash Gauge helps out, too. You can hit virtually everyone.

New DS Genso Suikoden

Got to admit, never gave Suikoden much of a chance last generation but this is looking nice.

Anyone pick up Bangai-O Spirits? Looks interesting.

Its fun, but a little crazy. The tutorial is the only thing that has dialogue and closest thing to a story mode as you’re going to get, and its only 17 levels or something like that. But it doesn’t matter. The gameplay is really fun once you get used to the controls, and the 100+ other levels that are on the cart are challenging and pretty diverse. I haven’t checked out the custom stages made by other people yet, but if you can get into the gameplay (which isn’t too hard), then this game will last you a while.

Has a tier list been created for FFTA-2 yet? I’m still pretty early in the game (average lvl is 27) and basically stuck with a party consisting of a Paladin/Dragoon/Gladiator/Elementalist (was a powered up White Mage)/Black Mage/Green Mage. Maybe I’m too old school for my own good? Any insight would be appreciated.
