Treasure’s Best, #11.
I tink alot of the fun to be had with this Bangai-O is 1) if you have people to play with and 2) if you share stage creations with.
The Treasure stages are suppose to be like the sorta main stages, after you beat them there’s supposed to be a ghetto ending. They seem to be the best planned out in general as well with good variety and most of them aren’t too easy. Or at least can be quite hard when trying to get better scores/times.
The Puzzle stages, DAMN THESE THINGS ARE FUCK HARD. Some of em anyway.
The Other stages are all kinda filler-ish and I don’t have much fun with em.
Don’t dash, just shoot the blocks individually and make your progress slowly
Also, you can hit blocks directly diagnal of you.
It’s actually incredibly easy once you know this.
Commando is Teken vs. Virtual Fighter material. Better yet, it’s Vii-Fung material. China will be all over it.
- …well, Fire Emblem DS won’t allow me to go online. This saddens me.
doesnt work dood… the destroyable blocks dont form a straight path to the goal… once u destroy the first 4 you are buried and left with no option but to dash…
unless I’m overlooking a special trick to shoot and move diagonally??
EDIT:
I looked the solution up on gamefaqs message board… it’s another case of weapon choices.
Bounce gun can hit blocks diagonally, use that and u’ll be like Mr Driller
FUCK, Fire Emblem’s out in Japan?! August 7, it was, it seems. When do you guys think the American release will be? Any word? I mean, I could import…but fuck, I want it in English.
How does multiplayer in Bangai work? Is it co-op through stages or is it a free for all battle?
not sure where else to post this but has anyone played metroid fusion or metroid zero mission for gba? I’ve been thinking of playing one of them. I just got a gba micro and I want to know which one is the better one to get.
I’ve played Metroid Fusion and it’s pretty enjoyable. It’s not really open area exploration because it tells you where to go and restricts you to those areas, but overall a good game.
Co-op.
Speaking of BO Spirits, after playing for an hour or so today I’ve come to the conclusion that this is actually a fun game, much like how Gunstar Super Heroes was a fun game. It wasn’t better than or even equal to Gunstar Heroes but it was still a great game in its own right. BO Spirits is like that too. A nice touch is the sprite flicker tear right when you do a maximum EX move surrounded on all sides by enemy fire and the game freezes, like it has to calculate what happens next, and then it goes into the slowdown. That’s so bad ass.
FFTA2GR. i’m 80+ hours logged, but i only completed 153 quests and half the book. Probably because i’m walking through the game instead of rushing it. The writing is fantastic.
oh and Hume: Fighter/Parivir - Dual Wield/Boncrusher = win.
yeah yeah, Blue Mages are “t3hHAx”, but i don’t want to grind to make one. Grinding takes away fun. If it can’t be done while playing the game normally, then i see no point in achieving it, unless the final boss is fucktardly hard then it might be justified.
Other than that, i’ll stick to a Seeq Ranger with Item Lore/Mirror Items and spam X-Potions, tyvm.
i just beat ffta-2 last night after half-assing it for a few months (two days of insomnia = nothing better to do…). ~42 hours, 120 missions completed, final party was pretty shitty compared to the builds you all were doing but whatever.
now i can play sfiv without feeling like i’m neglecting something.
i want to get close to 400 quests as possible. i’ll probably burn out before then.
I’ll be doing all 400 missions. There will be nothing else to do on my lunch breaks plus I wanna have the best builds possible.
how can you have lunch breaks in your room? Since you’re trapped inside it.
and the best build possible is: full team of Chocobo Knights.
nah, i’m just kidding. CK are a garbage gimmick class.
Hrmm…both these quotes are strange to me. I am at 46 hours and haver almost 200 missions done. Gauging the Grimoire, I’ve written through about 75% of the book, so I am guessing I am near the end. But, I am not going for that. I want all 400 missions before beating the game. I found the quickest way to level up is to dispatch. To whomever gave me the advice on how to dispatch: God bless you.
I lean towards Cannonry and Fusiler myself because they can turtle like crazy and dish out some nice damage/debuffs. I am trying to master every skill, but I really hate the bazaar store because I sit for like 10 minutes debating on which items to make. It’s real annoying, actually.
I want to finish Phoenix Wright 2 first before starting FFTA-2, but all this FFTA-2 talk wants me to get started on it already.
-
FFTA-2 isn’t much of an obligation. Just do it.
-
I’ll take the same route, and complete all quests, since FFTA-2 has a more forgiving system. I don’t have to feel bad if I don’t finish a quest.
-
Redoing quests helps means for grinding. Well, the ones that have you fighting. I use some of the Bangaa Bugle quests to help my struggling lower levels to catch up.
-
I redid the last battle with a crappier class setup, and Debuff Resistance 4, and I still beat Illua senseless. DR 5 makes you immune to virtually everything Shoel throws at the party.
-
btw: anyone having difficulty with the Rancher’s Request - Yellow quest needs to wait in the Targ Wood for the Faerie monsters to appear. They have a ripe, yellow chocobo just waiting to be captured by a chocobo knight.
-
I might have to stop playing Fire Emblem DS since the multiplayer is definitely for Japanese residents only.
Ok now I’m really liking Bangai-O. You really have to throw away the notion of how the originals were played. This one is EX Spam Fest 9000. Bounce+Break for the win. Oh and much love to the shield and bat!
For those interested in downloading custom Bangai-O stages, here’s a few links:
Japanese Publisher ESP’s site. Click on “Special”, which leads first to their map contest page, with download links to the top entries (Ikaruga stage!). Also check out the “Stage Download” link on the left sidebar for more stages.
Dengeki’s second set of stage downloads. Not sure where the first set is, but you can probably find it with some Google searching.
ScHlAuChii’s YouTube channel. Apparently this guy is a professional level designer (or something), his levels are brutal hard (be sure to equip reflect), but still fun, in a masochistic sort of way.
I was trapped in my room, until I realized I needed to go to work.
When I get home, I don’t leave my room though lol. Moogles are a gimmick race
I do want to get my hands on a Fusiler, but the only moogle I have in my clan now is the bard one. The Bazaar sucks sometimes, I just do auctions if I wanna get my hands on something good. Sometimes I may luck up and get just the item I need.
I can’t even do that quest because I don’t have the requirements or something.
Is FE:DS out already or is it the JP version?
