The Nintendo DS thread v.2

For anyone that has R. Tengoku Gold; umm what games can u play from the very begging?
Only one I can access is where you have to throw this pole between 2 square blocks.

I am very surprised nobody is talking about this game btw…

the game is awesome, but not as good as the first one, and definitely shares the same problems as it IMO. i.e. gets old fast

regardless still definitely worth the experience, I highly recommend everybody check this game out.

if u havent heard of this game…

anyway to answer your question, every time u beat a stage a new one opens… so to unlock the next one u gotta beat the one you are on now… and so forth and so forth

welp, i got my r4ds a few days ago, and i am very happy with it. i’ve been playing castlevania: dawn of sorrow, phoenix wright, new super mario bros, ffta2, and brain age 2. ffta2 and castlevania are uber fun ;D

now i’m kind of getting interested in playing/running some homebrew stuff on my ds, any recommendations?

did anyone play bangai-o spirits? im hearing its the bee’s knee’s

whoa, i just looked up some screens for that game, looks nuts. i’m gonna try it out right now.

Bangai-O is digital crack and should only be played with the intent of losing as much track of time as humanly possible. One HELL of a great game.

Holy sh1et! That Survey no. 265 was nuts! What a challenge! I swear I had to pull some Shikamaru crap just to conjure the needed strategy! This quest took me so many times to do. What the hell are monsters doing knowing Martial Arts skills? Cross-counter on a dragon-like character?

Still playing Space Invaders Extreme, but not as much as FFTA-2 and Word Coach.

I love bangai-o spirits, it fucking rocks. Of course, the original is in my top 5 games of all time, so I may be a little biased.

I could use some feedback on this before I actually buy my DS. Basically, I’m heavily considering buying one, but I really don’t know when I’d play it. I’m a college student, walk 90% of places, rarely take the bus. If I’m not usually taking long trips, is it really worth the 100+ dollar purchase? Do you guys actually find yourselves choosing to play your DS over your other consoles?

new Fire Emblem pretty fun, at least it looks prettier than the others

Honestly, it’s probably my most played console, and I would consider it the console of this generation. A shitload of games, and I even play it at home with the PS3 and Wii collecting dust.

I’m thinking that’s about the size of things, and then I think of September, October and November. There’s so much shit coming out in those 3 months I won’t know what to spend my money on, so I don’t know whether to save it or not.

It’s definitely worth it. Especially when you think that for another 50 dollars you own the rest of the DS games then yeah…

Piracy is bad mmkay. Buy Castlevania games.

well said.

So, my fellow DS owners…where the hell is Elite Beat Agents 2?

  • There seems to be even more thief characteristics. The moggle one is a lot more evasive and faster, but the human one appears to be stronger. I actually got Ninja job pretty late, like mission 60ish. It’s because of the freaking bazar, I couldn’t make enough thief swords for the job and never got the right items until very late. Adelle makes a pretty good ninja though, I wouldn’t dare leave her in that nerfed class.

  • A lot of moogle jobs seem too gimmicky for my liking. Grias are much better.

  • Grias need more credit. Seeq are suppose to be stronger than bangaa but bangaa are powerhouses in this game. I only use a Seeq in my clan because I wanted to try out new stuff

  • Nope I haven’t found those yet. I think there’s a good chance you’ll win them off a Auction though.

Next DS game I’m looking forward to getting. :stuck_out_tongue:

i’m in the same boat as you, never being in a position where i’m going to be waiting or sitting to go somewhere and needing something to do, yet i’m playing my DS a lot. i play it on the crapper, when it’s late and i want to just lay out on my bed, take it out on my porch and enjoy the weather, in addition to just playing it in sessions throughout the day. i won’t go so far as to say my ps3 is collecting dust, but my DS is definitely getting more burn than my ps3 and pc. it’s great because you can just plop down and play it for 20 minutes, or you can get into something really addicting and 3 hours have passed.

i just played bangai-o…wtf am i playing? ahahah

Based on you guys’ opinions, I will probably be picking up a DS tomorrow if I can get to a gamestop.

if you’re looking to pinch pennies, you can look into getting a refurb. that’s what i got, and it’s practically pristine. both screens were pretty much flawless, no scratches on either, the outside had no scratches or marks.
