The battle scenes remind me of Namco X Capcom.
looks pretty cool. I hope it comes out here…
Looks pretty cool; I’m doutbful it will be released anywhere other than Japan, though.
Whoever is a fan of the Trauma Center series needs to play Under the Knife 2. I finished it the other day and it’s been awesome, only gripe with it is that I remember why the Wii’s control scheme is so much better, but you can make do.
Who else finds another DS redesign to be pointless? I just saw the rumor on Kotaku which they even agree is bogus but like why would Nintendo even bother? The actual system shell is pretty slim so only thing I can see them doing is beefing up like the wi-fi range and if they want to get three hookers on your dick at once cool they could add a microSD slot but that’s not really their thing.
I don’t see a new DS ever again at this point. A brand new system yeah but not another DS redesign. The dual screen nature of the system doesn’t leave it with much to go on unless you made like the top screen slide or something, big whoop.
Nah, they need to make the DS more ergonomically comfortable. My hands tend to cramp on them after playing for an hour and the corners dig into the base of your palms that hurt like a motherfucker.
If anything, a redesign will be a lot more comfortable, have a longer battery life, might have a new pictochat that can be used through the internet, probably weigh less, and perhaps even bluetooth connection so you can chat with friends instead of using a crappy wired headset they offer.
The DS has been out for four years and has been selling like crazy. I say there will be a redesign, but by 2010, there will be a DS successor. If so, that thing better have insane graphics because there is no excuse now that the PSP has shown that portable gaming doesn’t have to look like shit.
I don’t think it needs a redesign, but I can see how some people would like one. The lifespan of the GBA was what, 6 or so years? As Platinum said, the successor should be coming out within the next few years, so I think a redesign of a system that’s already selling like hotcakes is not necessary.
And Kotaku was really reaching with that rumor.
In other news, SE just announced 2 new Chocobo games for DS! One is a sequel to Chocobo Tales, which I heard was pretty good. The other is a DS port of the Chocobo Dungeon game for the Wii that came out yesterday. I heard that the Wii game was good as well, and this one is supposed to have some extras, like an extra job class (which you can vote on now, if you’re a japanese SE club member.
The GBA’s lifespan was like 4-5 years. It stopped getting (good) games a while after the DS came out. Even though Nintendo said the DS was not a replacement for the GBA when it first came out. About a redesign or new handheld though, I think Nintendo doesn’t really need to do it. DSL still sells like crazy around the world so no need for a redesign yet. There’s no need for a new handheld cause it looks like the DS still has potential that 3rd parties only started tapping into last year or so.
Yeah, I can’t see a DS successor for quite some time.
Anyway, a friend from work copped me a m3 card for my DS. Do you guys know shit about those or am I barking up the wrong tree?
I haven’t used an M3, but it should be similar to how SuperCards, R4’s work. .nds’ are the game files, .sav are your save file, put it on your memory card, away you go. Which M3 do you have, real, simply, lite?
There are plenty of people that should be able to help you with that M3 on this thread, RC.
Oh, and if your hands cramp up when playing, Platinum, you might want to get a Hori Play Stand. I have one and I love it.
Real, I believe. I got a bunch of random memory cards around I need to sell too. I have like 5 1 gig cards, a few 2 gigs, a four and I got an 8 to put in the m3.
But yeah, I always heard that hacking and whatnot with the ds is quite a bit easier than with a PSP. Any where I can get a crash course on how this stuff works?
That was for sure recorded in English and then dubbed over with Japanese I hope to see that commercial in North America.
Definitely a lot easier.

Wikipedia also has a good entry on DS homebrew.
RC,
I’m pretty sure all you need to do is drop the files on your card, and you’re good to go. None of that converting or putting it in a certain file structure.
I didn’t know that there was an Elebits sequel coming out for the DS. I was looking forward to the Wii one when it came out, but it was pretty disappointing. This looks good though.
The characters in Tales of Hearts have retarded names. But the game looks badass.

Is it just me, or did the GBA sprites look nicer? These are all blurry and shit.
fuck me
i just spent an hour in ffta2 doing that tower quest and fighting some grueling battles.
then i get to the top floor and get fucked before anyone on my team has a chance to move.asdfsagsfhehsa
^ woah, which quest is that?

That Herititor class allows her to equip ANY arms. ANY. That’s insane.

Dispatch can also be considered as awesome now. You can send out a team to fight for you and they get experience points, ability points and items. And look: 10 days and under. It’s like getting them back in one day!

Debating on what to do with Vann. He’d bring more pain if he knew how to use an Ultima or Double Weld.

those characters look like square characters during the FMV’s, which is weird for me. But the in game looks cool, and the battles look like some good old Tales fun. I’m hoping it comes out…
