So for some reason, I’ve taken an interest in Dragon Quest; it’s probably due to all the new media being released from Japan concerning the remakes.

Can anyone recommend which titles are good? I’ve heard V is the best of the series by popular belief.

Hoho, DQ started it all, with the game mechanics, story-telling, everything’s easy to follow. DQ is the granddad of all RPGs, if you don’t like DQ you don’t like RPGs. Everything about DQ is mesmerizing, it has a charm, a quirk, a style that many RPGs try to capture but can’t. If you loved Earthbound, then DQ is your religion.

Incidentally, I finished Revenant Wings last night; I really enjoyed that game. I;ll probably play it again shortly.

It’s bitchin’! The aesthetics and music are sweet. The gameplay is new and innovative. SIE is to Space Invaders what Contra 4 is to Contra.

ASH is addictive. The battle system takes some getting used to, but afterwards, it’s almost dead simple. Hard to say I can put it down outside of that and Advance Wars. Rondo of Swords isn’t even getting played while I’m on this. Hard to say what I’ll do now. I could just wait for it to come to America, or Play-Asia it for next-to-nothing. Damn…tough choice.

Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan and Moero! Nekketsu Rhythm Damashii: Osu! Tatakae! Ouendan 2 are the greatest DS games of all time. Elite Beat Agents gets honorable mention but are nowhere near the greatness of the original Japanese series.

Rondo of Swords…IS HARD. Oh man this game is unforgiving. Sure you could beat a level with casualties but then they’d be weaker in the next battle so even though they dont’ die it doesn’t really matter. Plus it’s very werid getting used to such a different system.

It’s frustrating, but it makes you want to play it.

Kirby Super Star Ultra and Mystery Case Files:MillionHeir announced for US release!

Kirby Super Star? Ultra for Nintendo DS, launching Sept. 29, re-imagines one of the most beloved Kirby games of all time. I’m both ecstatic that Kirby Super Star is being remade and absolutely FURIOUS that it’s going to a portable system. Half of the fun of the original Super Star was same-screen co-op.

Still, that’s a definite purchase.
