Haven’t had a chance to play it yet but I have Etrian Odyssey II and Rondo of Swords ready, just need to buy DS when I get my next paycheck.
Totally fucking hyped to play Odyssey, I LOVED the first one and I hear the second does everythign better.

oh wow so other people play izuna as well…I just beat Takushiki, meaning I have one more story-related dungeon to go…I’ve been using the Shingan blade but I like the Hayate ability a lot so I’m gonna try to find a good claw…I haven’t played a roguelike game for years, this is definitely crack cocaine. I might even put the original rogue on my DS if it exists out there via homebrew.
Damn that sucks, having to wait those extra days good times are ahead though, that’s the only bright side. :bgrin:
Guitar Hero got a 9.0 from IGN. If Activision actually pulls this off, I may rush that shit down.
Anybody get Space Invaders Extreme or thinking about buying it? I might pick it up this week when I get my GC from Best Buy for being a valued RZ customer (If I don’t get one, bitches will fry!!!)
Hot DAMN that’s a good review. But then again, I don’t much trust IGN.
can’t spell ignorant without ign
For sure:tup:
I’ve waited a year and a half for this game, so a few more days won’t be all that bad.
I’ll wait til Famitsu does theirs.
'Cuz Famitsu’s MUCH more trustworthy than IGN.
I’m really scared to try that DS Guitar Hero… it looks really awkward to hold.
NSS. They’ve been around the block longer, too.
A RAFFLE TICKET SYSTEM FOR FFTA-2’s LOCAL DS PLAY?
…surely there must be more. Anyway, looks like your friends gave it good reviews so far. 9/10 and 4.5 out of 5.
So for some reason, I’ve taken an interest in Dragon Quest; it’s probably due to all the new media being released from Japan concerning the remakes.
Can anyone recommend which titles are good? I’ve heard V is the best of the series by popular belief.
I’ve never actually really played V or VI, but I’ve played all of the rest, and beaten all of those except VII. I liked VIII, but I really loved DQ III’s job system. Dragon Quest IV is really, really good though, so pick that up when it comes out here. The first one was good for its time, but I think you’d go crazy if you play it now… its slower paced.
Yeah, III’s job system appeals to me big time. I guess it’s really between IV, V, and IX when they’re released for the DS; although, I’m going to buy an old-school game as opposed to a new one, just to get the feel for the game and be more excited for a new incarnation, so to speak.
Thanks for the recommendation; I’ll try it out when it released. As a fan of DQ, what is it really that attracts you to it? I’ve never played one before, so perhaps their’s something I’m missing. I loved Earthbound, and it seems to have similar mechanics.
Finally got a new Red/Black DSlite so I’m going to play the shit out of Rondo of Swords and Etrian Odyssey II
Hoho, DQ started it all, with the game mechanics, story-telling, everything’s easy to follow. DQ is the granddad of all RPGs, if you don’t like DQ you don’t like RPGs. Everything about DQ is mesmerizing, it has a charm, a quirk, a style that many RPGs try to capture but can’t. If you loved Earthbound, then DQ is your religion.
DQJ monster hunter is pretty cool. It actually held my attention long enough for me to finish it.
I actually thought Etrian Odyssey II was terrible. I really wanted to play it too, but the game just kept smacking me away and yelling “No! You will not play me!”
Now I’m playing through the older gem, portrit of ruin.
And yet it got a 6.0 from Gamespot. Also, FFTA2 got a 9.0 from IGN, yet Gamespot gave it a 7.0.
Moral of the story: you can’t really trust reviewers when they all have contradictory viewpoints. I’m not saying the games are bad (they’re probably good, I haven’t played them yet, so I wouldn’t know); it’s just that not all gamers (anywhere from paid reviewers to the average kid next door) view games the same way.
Yes, this a pile of obvious, but still.
I seriously need a new game or two for my DS. I had beat Ninja Gaiden DS about 2 months ago in about 4 and a half hours and I had no will to actually play through Head Ninja mode (all it seemed to do was throw more enemies at me, thus making battles longer instead of harder), so I stopped playing. After beating Phantom Hourglass earlier this month, I haven’t really played my DS since.
Why the fuck is nobody talking about Space Invaders Extreme? Everything I heard about has been awesome so far. I’m definitely gonna pick this up since it’s $20!
