Is this game dead…?
Possibly?
It got the largest turnout of any SNK game at Final Round.
We also have had tournaments for it in the last couple of months in NC that are bigger than most SNK majors.
If NGBC’s dead, then so’s everything else in SNK land.
If you instead mean that it’s ‘dead’ in the sense that nothing really new has been discovered and that the game has failed to evolve significantly over the past year…then yeah, I might agree with that.
I still think there’s too much stuff about this game that isn’t completely understood.
I wanna play this game seriously here in the Socal area, but till the moment I havent found any good player at this game that lives close to me
Its all about XI, 2002 and the just added 98UM here in Los Angeles area.
Boo boo for me and for my hope in finding good comp in NGBC.
Agreed.
I’ll rep this game hella, of that there is no doubt. It’s my single favorite game still, but Brawl’s creepin’ up on it. It’s CREEPIN’!
You’ll get all the comp you want at EVO World. Look at me? You think I have comp in this game or like anything SNK around me???
Nope…hence I go to Mexico to get my KOF fix…:woot:
I know how you feel. There’s basically no one who plays fighters near me in South Carolina, add the fact that this is an SNK game and there really is no one else. Either way you just gotta’ keep practicing and try to introduce more people to the game; that’s what I’m doing and I’m close to turning some people onto it. I’m still scrubby, but I’m trying .
is this game going to get played at C3, im hoping so
There will Be GCFS.
Seriously, even if we have to hijack a T.V ahead of time we will make this happen.
The only problem i foresee is whether someone has the JPN version for purists. Being a recent U.S release convert, i hope it doesn’t derail having NGBC at C3 by not having the import version.
They are playing NGBC at a Greensboro NC tourney May 10th. Check tourney listings. That’s one hour North of Charlotte.
If you wanna play the US version you cant use the Dragon level because it slows down or another level I believe so keep that in mind…
But sure if you are playing casuals does it matter?
But for a tournament the purists are right…the JPN version ONLY…that is unless you wanna reset the game everytime you are on the Dragon level…
Yeah, I see where you are coming from. I guess i was still in the mindset of exposing some people to the game and casuals, Not caring about the necessity of the glitch proof version for tournament use. Since there are alot of us who have just gotten a hold of the U.S release and struggle to find other players in their areas. I never considered the glitches in the U.S version as dealbreakers . I guess this means that i need two copies, one for home(U.S release), one for office (JPN Ver for tourneys).
is there anything else wrong with the US release?
Certain stages other than the Dragon stage lag heavily. Basically any stage with a 3-D background is lag city.
I know the NC scene is pretty big in NGBC, but I’m in no way tourney level in the game. I have been trying to turn some people onto the game (as well as other fighters) who live in the same town as I do or close to it. Thanks for the heads up though .
It’s basically that stage and the one which has a bear smacking around a tire (but curiously, that stage has no lag in its’ alternate version, where there is no bear).
Moral of the story: Bears are evil. :arazz:
You’re a Colbert fan, I bet.
Trust me, there are a few people who enter those tournies who aren’t tourney level either, like myself.
Yeah the US lags on more than just on the dragon level. It’s almost every stage it seemed, and certain in-game effects would cause random slow down as well (some weird things didn’t seem to work the same either).
Japanese only for tournaments.
I am, but I actually wasn’t thinking about him when I wrote that post. Guess I have Colbert-ism written into my DNA. :wgrin:
