The newest Castlevania game... is a FIGHTING game!

Oh the rosters already been confirmed?

=\

Don’t worry. Simon Belmont still looks like this officially in the canon.

What, don’t look at me… Ayomi Kojima’s redesigns overturn everything ever since Symphony of the Night.

They even used that version of Simon Belmont in Dream Mix TV, he’s there on the right. So that’s a gigantic tip off that Konami is sticking to that design for the mainstream Castlevania universe. Just like they stuck with Ayomi Kojima’s Alucard, Dracula, Richter, Maria, etc. over all previous versions.

Um yeah I’ll take biker bondage boy from Judgement over fur coat fruit boy any day… Um… no hormone?

I like Kojima’s art, but on the whole, I don’t like her redesign of Simon. He looks too much like Poison from Final Fight. :wtf:

man, we need some richter action here (specially that now we have the dracula x remake in psp) unleast that they dont want more than 2 whipe weilders.

on another note, the music in the trailer sounds really good, im sure that i will end buying the ost if this turns well

i preffer the desings of kojima, they fit in the castlevania world so well, and the redising of simon its fine, maybe too much metro sexual, but looks better compared to the previous desings imo

Richter please…

I’m a little worried about the camera system, I don’t know whether that’s 1P or 2P gameplay in the videos, but it always seems to favour a particular character in certain situations. When I look at it, it reminds me of Soul Calibur and I think “awesome!” But then that camera swings round and I instantly feel like it would better if it was somewhat fixed like a normal 3D fighter.

the camera reminds me the saint seiya games or the zoe 2nd runner one, maybe konami is only showing 1p fights, who knows

yea richter did have a shoryuken and a dash but alucard had a buch of badass spells.:wgrin:

“DORK METAMORPHOSIS”

I’m a little disappointed in this supposed complete roster I have to say. Where are all the guys from the DS and GBA games?

I was SUPER surprised that Rich wasn’t included in this game. Simon and Trevor are my faves, but I’d still have loved to have seen Richter there too. It would have been cool to have a couple whip wielders but have them all play completely differently.

I like her stuff too, but there’s a certain “sameness” to her character designs that has started to wear on me. Granted that appeared a bit in the old school games, but it changed. I’m glad Masaki is doing the art for OoE. Now if we could only get Yamane to compose some good music (I have a feeling she has been ordered to dumb down her stuff, but if not, she needs to GO!)

Funny because I’ve gotten the vibe that IGA didn’t really want to make Judgment, but that it was more of an order from the suits at Konami. Some of the stuff he says in defense of it makes me think he’s doing it because he has to.

i know what you mean, i noticed the same problem too, this is very common in the people who are self-thaught artists, still i love her style

I actually really like her non-CV art. She has this one piece of this guy who looks like Alucard, but half of him is skeletal. She combines beauty and ugliness in a very interesting way.

I wish she’d done the art for this game though, because some of Obata’s designs are horrid. How do you come out with a game based on “fanservice” and not have the characters designed in a way that fans know who they are? They aren’t even going to have alternate costumes.

lol, i belive that the main problem here its for who is the fan service, its clear that the desings are deliverate been made for the actual japanese taste, apparently what is “in” now is the lolis and the andros and shotas (i know that the kojima art is something like an andros but its really better), and not for the western taste, maybe in the future we will see a castlevania fg with the art of kojima or maybe with something better who knows

Which is ironic because Castlevania has ALWAYS done better in the West than it has in the east. They’re just trying to appeal to otaku kids.

I’d say honestly that they’re trying to appeal to the younger crowd again with it.

i’d say death note was such a success that a thousand fanboys will go out and buy this game even if the designs suck

I’ll take a potato chip…AND EAT IT.

…um wow. its really different from any fighting game i played.

Ok 1st take out the power up and random punching bag
and think it might be a playable 3D fighter

other wise stick to getting TVC for a Wii fighter

Never played Power Stone? You missed out, it was pretty well done for such a simple game.

Glad to see some Cornell love, I seem to be the only person I know of who enjoyed Legacy of Darkness. Then again, I kind of enjoyed Superman 64, so what do I know? As for the designs, I think they’re all kind of off, but I can live with them.

+1

And just in case you doubt it:
