on the bright side it slows the game down a bit, no more turn 1 unbreakable board set ups…for now. we can actually interact and play yugioh again, but decks like D/D/Ds get fucking shrecked by this so hard.
D/Ds are hurt less than ABCs I’d say. D/D’s have enough flexibility to make new builds to play around this issue. We might actually have to play a Pendulum game now. It’ll be extremely weird, but I think they’ll pull through.
ABCs are just annihilated though. Unless they open Soul Charge, it’s all but impossible to open Turn 1 Dragon Buster.
It’s basically just like Synchro monsters, just without Level requirements.
A Link 3 monster will usually require 3 monsters, Link 2, two monsters and so on and sometimes they’ll have stricter requirements (like Missus Radiant needing Earths).
Also, a Link Monster (assuming it fulfills the material requirement, a vanilla can’t be used for one that needs effect monsters) can add its own Link cost to help pay for a new one.
What I mean is, well for Decode Talker…
It’s a LINK 3 that requires 2+ Effect monsters.
Under normal circumstances, you’d need 3 Effect Monsters. But if you use a LINK 2 monster, it’s considered two materials so you can use a LINK 2 Effect monster, and any other effect monster.
kozmos, monarchs(holy shit they can possibly get domain set up before u get a chance to do shit lol), and any other fast deck that doesnt rely on extra deck alot.
of course this is all just early speculation, the way people build their decks will change.
