My friend spoke with an official at Konami and here is a little excerpt from their conversation (not word for word):
“We were itching to put Wavering Eyes on the Ban list (not the adjusted list), because the hits we made were a bit heavy handed. We wanted to give them a chance to see what happens after YCS Atlanta.”
So, this new list won’t pop out for a hot minute. They want to look at the other tournament result tops first. Me thinks that this new list is going to nuke everyone BUT BA. However last night at locals a guy was trying to get rid of his BA deck. It had 1 Vergil, 2 Dante, Barbar, Graff, Cir, and Skarm, ulti Tour Guide. Damn near the entire deck outside of like Solemn Strikes and Warnings. He sold it for 75$. The dude selling it was getting mad that the guy didn’t want to buy it. Like, in all honesty I think the deck was hot, or dude really needed the money. I honestly could of swooped in and just talked him down to 50 and bought it, but I had a few reservations about it.
Monarchs will more than likely get hit, and Konami will probably target Pantheism first, and maybe Ether will get shot to 2.
E-tele will get hit to 1. Farmgirl has a high chance of going to 2 or 1 depending on how sadistic konami wants to be.
Luster will go up to 2. Joker is staying at 1. Monkeyboard will more than likely go to 2. Wavering Eyes will probably be banned or shot to 2. (In which case I’m picking up Pendulum Storm.
And I’m not buying Mystical Refpanel. It’s a 25 dollar card now. I’m not paying anywhere near that much for 1 card.
Also Saitsu, I know why you fucks with Deskbots. Deskbot 009 is on that otherworldly shit.
Well, Pals aren’t dead, they just aren’t as destructive as they used to be. I honestly feel sorry for people who spent $500+ to build the deck just to have Konami rip it out from under them. To me that seems counter intuitive. And I think it hurts the customer base. Like as someone who is new to yugioh competitively and trying to buy/trade cards and play in tournaments. That kind of makes me upset. Because now I have no idea what to do at this point. Spend even more money to try and stay up on things? Or do I just sell whats left of my deck for what little money it’s worth now and try to buil da new one? Cause I can’t build Kozmo, I’m not paying nearly 200 for 1 dark destroyer.
Dark Strike got Errata’d. It’s been at 3 for a while now.
But yeah, Pals aren’t dead but they were utterly stupid before. You don’t take 29 out of 32 tops at a YCS everyone expects you to be at because you’re only as strong as everything else. When even the mirror is lopsided, we have a problem.
What came out in Wing Raiders that helps Monarchs? And that deck is super busted , stopped playing it lol. I had to play correctly to win with Tier 5 nonsense. Not at all anymore.
Zefra Yang Zings are fun. I get to play up to 15 cards a turn when I combo out.(Mostly cantrips and stuff but still). My biggest disagreement about most decks I see is with so much filtering, why in the fuck are they not playing magical abductor to always have the correct scales and what’s up with zefra divine strike instead of something like a dark hole. The goal is zero interaction, banishing a pendulum that is your win condition is bad, and the only other trap in the deck is skill drain. It’s probably the closest thing I’ve seen to s combo deck.
Im ready for it. I only managed to grab 2 copies and its putting in work. E tele to 1 would make things more interesting since it opens up more variations with an already high variety deck.
Super Quantums. A lot more consistent and advantaged Tribute Engine that plays well with the rest of the deck. You run 2 Red Layer, 1 Blue Layer and Triple E-Tele. Use that along with the Vassals and you’re in for a great time.
And we have a new archetype called Metalphosis, they’re going to be pendulum based. Fire Attribute psychic monsters based off cyber-punk style anime. So I expect some GiTS and Akira int here. Hell…Metalphosis Driver IS Kaneda
