Got my Vortex, Ignister, and my Rebellion today. So, I guess I’ll grab all 3 Lusters, and maybe grab a Xiangke and a Flare.
Changing the game is one thing. I think Magicians are overall a healthy way to do it. A few restrictions, slow to really get going but showcases the power of Pendulums. That was fine. There ain’t nothing fine about Post-BOSH PePe.
And now it looks like I going to Philly Regionals tomorrow…with Deskbots…

Went 7-3. 50th Place and secured my first ever Nats Invite.
Went to locals, went 3-1. Felt good. I picked up a Xiangke, Cowboy, Solemn Warning, Raigeki, and Blackrose Moonlight, and a Ghost Rare Flare Metal for less than 40.

Felt better than I expected. As long as you don’t get blown out in turns 1 and 2 you usually can set the game to your pace fairly quickly and return the favor. Obviously the deck will be much better in the future, but for now it did an admirable job. All my losses match wise…were due to getting blown out quickly more or less.
PePe Magicians
I lost against a ddd player. He had two swamp kings. I had one absolute and a skullcrobat. I negated the first attack, and I summoned odd eyes pendulum, however I had a meteor burst in the grave…I could of won next turn. I had a full scale and sky arc. I would pen summoned used xiangke and made rebellion. I felt so mad.
You have some real hate for a deck when you see someone play a card and they give you the match. Not the round. THE MATCH,
Fuck swamp king. Soul stealing P.O.S if you ask me. Either way, I need to play against more D/D/D. I may want to build the deck, but right now my focus is solely on Pepe. Once I get this freaking ticket out the way, I’m ready to go dumb.
Swamp King is the last thing you should be worried about. Makes it all the more hilarious that I had a couple opponents focus on that when, you know, I have a Continuous ROTA on the field and not one but two monsters in the deck that can do Fusion Summons themselves.
The slimes can do fusion stuff, as an odd eyes player, anything I can do to get rid of that or stop it? And running over some of the D/D/D monsters is painful. Only way I can think to do it is Drumrilla or OERD.
How is the match up vs Odd Eyes Magicians? What should I be looking to do as a Magician player? (note I do not have access to veiler or maxx c yet.)
Make Avian and hope? That’s about it. The easiest thing to do is to get rid of Gate. Gate is the easiest way I replenish my monsters and basically lean on the opponent. You cannot let Gate up if you’re not going to push for game. Too many of my opponents, ESPECIALLY the Scythe Control player, made the mistake of letting Gate live while actually having ways to get it off of the board. I can win without Gate but it’s certainly a LOT harder to do so.
As for the matchup…honestly I don’t know because I didn’t face a single OEM deck the entire day and no one I personally know plays it so I have no experience in the matchup. But honestly the matchup seems REALLY favorable for D/D/D’s. The reason I struggled with PePe Magicians was because they can OTK hard Turn 1 or 2 and set up massive boards. OEM is more methodical, usually being a Two Turn Deck unless opening godly. It gives me time to set up. I can clip your Rank 7s when they hit board so I don’t have to worry about them and I don’t float so Meteorburst doesn’t do anything to me specifically and all my monsters are bigger than yours especially with Witch. Making Vortex would probably help a lot and having clutch Rank 4s does as well.
Overall you have two options. Try to end the game early before D/D/Ds really get going (the preferred option) or hope you can control their consistent advantage (not as easy).

I added 3 Unicorn to my deck. I may still get an odd-eyes fusion and the mist valley apex avians.
Well the OCG is making it clear that they’re ending PePe once and for all. We only got to see 3 cards of their next ban list…and it’s Shock Master (way too late), Damage Juggler and Plushfire. Now that’s not enough to end the deck, mostly because by BOSH they’re more towards the Pals than the Mages but we’ll see what the rest of their list has in store.
As for releases…man, Blue-Eyes has completely lapped Red-Eyes once again. It feels like they have 20 cards of support in SHVI AND the Felgrand Structure is giving them a ton of indirect support. If you miss Big Dragons.dek, your time has come again.
We won’t see their ban list for quite some time though. Konami will give us time to play around with the deck. And I may play super quan tums or bls. Bls looks fun and kinda bullshitty. He’ll I may go run around and play the blue eyes. Here’s to me collecting blue eyes support again lol. Kaiser sea horse white stone of legends and who knows we may be able to splash dark paladin gigantic beat stick who gets 500 for every dragon in the grave and field? Yes please
