I think BA will dominate this format…Nekroz still good imo despite the hit
Does anyone still use Spiritual Beasts after the initial hype and the dragons being banned?
Just wondering cause I’m still having a blast pulling off the combos with them. Even doing more sac-y plays with Chaos Zone or Ghost Orge(Yuki) synchros.
Was messing around with Phantom of Chaos as a tech card. Stupid good with giving you a free search from Ulit-Hawks eff or Ulti-Gaiapelio negates.
Or even just makes Ulti-Gaia easier to summon on top of stupid amounts of searching.
Haven’t messed around with Trishula. But I dont think it’ll be hard to summon in the deck.
Well…Ritual Beasts took 2 Spots in the Top 8 at Nationals and are one of the favorites along with Qliphorts to win Worlds so…yeah.
I havent been keeping up with whats been topping.
Though I couldnt imagine the deck placing low. The bricks are bad at times. But I was just wondering cause every match I tried playing in DevPro has been nothing but Qliphorts, BA, U.A, Nekros, Shadoll and Stellarknights.
It’s not a popular deck because the plays are a pain to remember for most.
But yeah, it’s been having strong showings.
I would have to wonder why konami doesn’t make Yu Gi Oh a service? What keeps many people from getting into the game is the ridiculous cost of, lets be honets, pointless cards. You spend 100 dollars on a card in one set and its banned next set.
YGOpro always strikes me as a missed opportunity from Konami. Last time they did that they made you buy all of the packs and decks individually which was bullshit. Why can’t they have something like YGOpro with all of the cards in the game available, where they give you the option to change the set, use anime cards, change the number of draws you can have, and make a deck of any card you like? All they would have to do is put it behind a paywall as a service. Paying for individual cards in Yu gi oh is always a risk because of the nature of card game sets. If they make it a service like YGOpro and make it cost like say 10$ a month for continued use, they could make some serious money and expand the community.
This is konami though, and they are retarded.
Why would they bother? They make continual money as they are now, and trying to get into the online business only means they actually have to run up against Hearthstone which you can play for absolutely free.
At that point they’d actually have to hope that people LIKED the game enough to pay for it online rather than play Hearthstone where you can play for free. It’d actually be stupid.
In theory it sounds great, everyone only has to pay $10 to get everything and you can play everyone you want using absolutely anything you want. Reality works a lot differently.
But let me ask this, are you advocating to outright eliminate the physical card game for the service?
I wouldn’t have them eliminate the offline game because the offline cards have something that the online card games don’t and that’s the value of each individual card. Card game fanatics will continue to buy those regardless and offline championships will probably also remain offline. I am talking about expanding their options.
The online card game can have lots of popularity online. You say they will have to compete with HearthStone, but I think that Yu Gi Oh has lots of things going for it that the hearthstone game doesn’t.
The first is that Hearthstone, like offline yu gi oh, costs lots of money to be good at. Hearthstone’s cards are essentially worthless however as they either can’t be resold to my knowledge at least. The way i proposed Yu Gi Oh be paid for was a flat rate that got you everything per month. I am sure consumers would see that as a better option than what hearthstone has you do, even if it is free.
I don’t know exactly how well it would do but it sounds like a good idea to me. It can’t cost that much money to buy some servers and test it out at least.
Except, Hearthstone only requires money to be good at if you desire to play the expensive decks, like Yugioh. However in Hearthstone, cheap decks do very well and do see play often in ranked and in competition. Both Zoolock and Shockadin require nothing but a bit of grind early on to really complete (if you focus on them) and both are often seen in Legend Ranks and in a player’s stable during tournaments. Same with things like Face/Midrange Hunter, and even Tempo/Mech Mage. Price only really starts killing you when you want to play Control Warrior, Handlock, Freeze Mage or Druid decks. Plus once you get truly good at the game you never need to pay a cent even if you want the expensive stuff as Arena runs and Daily rewards will essentially foot the bill for anything you want. That’s one of the allures of Hearthstone. You can pay if you want, but if you get good, you’ll never need to.
Plus, Dueling Network exists as it is now. Obviously Konami isn’t making money from it but there’s a reason they haven’t shut it down. It’s the same reason why Capcom generally lets things like GGPO and Fightcade do what they do knowing that most people don’t actually pay for the legitimate ROMs of the games they support. You could shut them down and offer your own service at a price. But you have to endure the backlash of who you just shut out, along with paying for everything to make your own service.
Also another obvious reason for both companies, free exposure. They could shut the free stuff down easily…but they’d rather keep them around. And it benefits Konami far more than it benefits Capcom on that front. You see most people who play on DN, also play the physical card game. They use it to gauge exactly what they want to play, and moreover what they want to invest in. It actually helps drive money already. On top of that, it’s a source for those who’ve been out of the game a while to jump in and start playing. Once they learn and get their feet wet again? They feel confident and start playing the physical card game again.
To throw another thing in, it benefits the hype for their TCG Exclusives. People might not be sold on TCG Exclusives normally, but with DN around it allows people to play with them (or at least some of them) for a couple of weeks before the set. People who were already naturally hyped about Kozmos due to the concept (Star Wars + Wizard of Oz) are now even more hyped because of how they play. That’s more money Konami makes there. All of this…without having to pay a single extra cent out of their pocket.
The new set coming out, Clash of Rebellion, should I pre order 2 boxes? Or should I wait for the Master of Pendulumn structure deck?
The new set has potential to be a huge money set. Kozmos, Aromage, Mistaken Arrest, new mirror force (which is better than og mirror force), and the new archfiend pendelum.
Add to the fact the red eyes stuff and igknight stuff shouldn’t be too hard to get rid of, I say this set seems pretty damn good.
I was shocked that Chicken Race is only a common. Makes it easier for me to build.
Well I just pre-ordered 2 boxes of the set. I feel more at ease. I’m getting my feet wet for the first time. This is my first time buying boxes. So, I hate to say this, but I will be relying on you lot to help me out. I’m rather new at buying/selling/trading cards. So I’ll do a video of my pulls for you guys when I get my boxes. And well…just let me know what I’m actually sitting on.
Yeah, it’s a pretty good money set. One of the few where you can argue all the Secret Rares are actually good (feelings about Tatsunoko may vary)
I got your back Zeon. Just let me know.
Well, as such, since you guys are srk fam. Anything I’m not using for magispecters or clownblade/Odd Eyes decks I’m going to give you guys first crack at.
Well, since you’re making both of those I’ll give you some heads up.
Grab the Dracoslayers and Archfiend Eccentrick. Those should be your immediate first targets.
Also good news, Trickclown by some miracle is common…and not short printed.
Which Dracoslayers would I be looking to grab? Prominence? OR all 3 of them?
All of them. The Tuner and the Synchro this set, and the Xyz next set. They’re staples…and the only way the Mirror ever gets anywhere.
Seriously, the Majespecter mirror is one of the most stupid mirrors I’ve ever seen.
Zeon, if I were you I would really push all igknight stuff you pull as fast as possible. The deck isnt that good but there is a good amount of people who want to build it. It wont take long for people to realize its not good.
It helps that they have an Ultra too.
Also…Chicken Game, Short Print. Hurray…
If that keybeetle lock was still allowed, id jump on the igknight train. Now its just easy money to grab early on.
And I already got a playset of Chicken Game reserved cause I know at least half the players at my locals give away commons. I have the full deck ready too.
Im wondering if any secret here has the potential to break $50+.
