The New Yu-Gi-Oh Thread: Construct Joins Stratos in the Halfway House

Jesus.

Hey wait, I have a Summoner’s Art. Lightly played, but still tourney legal. I’m gonna keep it until they come out. o.o

You could probably get $30+ for it if you trade/sell it off at Sneaks November 1st.

I’m about to follow yu gi oh like the stock market. I need extra cash because my job is cutting my hours again

Using yugioh to make money is both good and bad. Good is your profit margin, if timed correctly, could be insane. I just sold 2 summoner arts for $45.

The bad is sometimes investing in certain cards and then that card loses the hype, your stuck with it and trying anyway to move them. And timing is very hard on some cards and reprints are always random.

Yeah but if you’re smart it usually isn’t too tough. Sometimes though, certain reprints can be BRUTAL (see Mega Pack 2014).

I mean, at this point we have to assume Konami’s doing a Mega Pack every year. So basically every year is gonna have a core set full of reprints so you have to take that into account. Dracossack and Excite Knight went from wallet nightmares…to 20 and 30 dollars respectively in the space of one reprint. Downerd Magician went from 15-20 dollars to FOUR dollars.

So you really have to be cautious now when investing into new sets. You have to make immediate dividends but it can pay off. Look at me. Got Dante when it was only around $25. Ended up getting rid of it or $60 of value the very next week (of course now it’s around 80-90 and can only go up. I can see it hitting 100 post NECH).

But I have a very trusted resource to help.

http://yugiohprices.com/

This site will save you everything. Keeps track of prices on multiple sources and every rarity you can think of. You can set alerts for when a card raises above or drops below a certain price. If you want to get mildly serious about Yugioh card prices, use this resource. It’s RIDICULOUSLY helpful, even to find deals.

AND IT’S OFFICIAL!

Explains why it wasn’t limited.

I’m just gonna hope my El Shaddoll Construct doesn’t get reprinted before I can trade it.

Then trade it now if you’re that worried. I don’t see it being touched until the next Mega Pack though.

Different Dimension Ground is so good. Seeing people treat this card like the Maxx ‘C’ challenge instead of ending their turn is great.

Yeah DDG is a great card, wish it were reprinted so I could have some for my side.

Anyway, had a great day today. Won locals with my return to Raccoons, traded for Dante with cards I didn’t really need. Just great.

HERO’s Strike confirmed for 1/30.

Get your Kamen Rider on.

Popping in to ask.
Did you guys mess around with Ghostricks? I’ve been playing around on DN with them and thought I’d share a Shaddoll/Ghostrick deck.

The main idea is to protect Ghostrick doll.

Flip summon Doll. Effect activates.
Use Transmodify >SS Shaddoll Hedgehog.
Normal summon Junk Synchron >SS Doll. End Phase Doll effect sets everything (Doesnt start a chain link)
SS Jiang.

Then you could set up for Neko/Winda lock down.
You could also drop Stein and run Spoiled Princess for more searching and throw in better cards. (Vanity, less ass extra deck.)

Things to mention. Ghostrick Scare doesnt activate Shaddoll flip effects.
But you could throw in Shaddoll Hound to further speed up Doll’s eff.
Since flipped face-up isnt the same as FLIP: effects.

Well it’s certainly interesting.

Mixing decks is really good this format sin’ it?

Well it helps that Shaddolls and Burning Abyss tend to get full value when in tandem with something else. That might change for Burning Abyss in two weeks though. Shaddolls will still need the help.

Qliphorts are fucking unstoppable. Their boss monster doesn’t allow you to play Yugioh once it comes out. (Apoqliphort Killer)

Like for real, if Qliphorts are going to be in the meta, they might as well bring shockmaster back.

The only way for qliphorts to lose is if the opponent flips vanity’s first.

I hate how vanity’s is a staple now and how it stops people from playing yugioh. I understand it’s kind of easy getting rid of it but a well timed vanity’s is soul crushing.

While Qlips are crazy, they have weaknesses actually.

For one, they’re free to Time-Space Trap Hole.

Their main weakness though is their overreliance on Qliphort Tool (and Pendulums in general). Stop them from keeping Tool out and you’ll definitely do well.

The biggest issue is needing to deal with Tool, Skill Drain, and Vanity’s Emptiness. 3 MST usually isn’t enough to stop all of them so you’re going to have to work on that.

Me, I’m lucky, I play Raccoons. If I go first and draw OS, Qlips are gonna have a bad time. Nat Beast steamrolls them unless they have Drain (and even then, that gives me time). I also have a natural out to Killer if it ever comes to dealing with it. Then Games 2 and 3, you side in the Fairy Winds and the Twisters, even Cursed Seal if you want to go that route.

But honestly, a decent amount of decks do have answers. Shaddolls are screwed though. Most of their answers were left in the OCG. Burning Abyss should make Qlips their bitch though. 3 PWWB, 3 Raigeki Break, Qlips never get to play and they don’t suffer against Skill Drain terribly much.

There are a lot more weaknesses for Qlips than it looks like at first glance.

Play decks that have trouble against other parts of the meta, or lose to Qliphorts. It really puts you in an odd predicament.
