^ I’m guessing that both characters are wearing their new Costume E outfits.
Looks good. Too bad we won’t be able to get that on the 360. Here’s hoping for VF5 Evo on the 360.
Gonna be playing on Live for a bit today. I’m posting GG’s in the in the XBL VF5 GG’s thread.
Good stuff, I learned some new things.
HIGHER QUALITY VIDEO IN 3…

1…
Newest vids uploaded are from earlier, a Sarah mirror with Slide (ACTION KUNGFU) and some more from the dennis0201 set. Only highlight matches are posted because some matches are just… Unspectacular… I mean, some matches with Slide consist of us in each others faces, holding G, fuzzy guarding waiting for someone to twitch…
And i cant find the DVD with all the matches yet…
Whats up people. Im looking to play some new people in VF. Send me a friend request if yo wanna play. GT: Low Sweep
Nice quality vids coN. Only suggestion I have is labeling the online ones so that other viewers know that they’re being played online.
I labeled them in the tags… (ie. Live, Online, etc) So its all good…
this might be a noob ? cause I just got VF5 for my new ps3 last monday. I played VF4 evo and used brad, but in VF5 I like El blaze a lot, the question I have is how do i utilize Frame data in this game? I play 3rd strike and GG so Frames are not new to me but when it comes to 3D games I have no clue how to use the data. any help would be nice and yes I know the ps3 version is the older version but its all i got ATM.
Also one question for El Blaze. when is a good time to use his rocket discharge moves? a good strat with him would be nice. yes I went to VFDC and looked over his guide on it but It never mentioned when to use his rocket moves besides deja vu.
Use them after you hit an oppenent with your DM.
K+G hits high and sends them some distance on a counter hit. You can be bounced if they duck and hit you with a 2P.
K hits at mid and(to me) has farther range. Depending on what your oppenent does youi can go into another RD after the Drop kick hits.
down K hits low and can be follwed up with u/b P+K and a d/f K down attack.
If your brazen, you can go into RD while they are getting up and you know they are gonna rise with a mid attack and throw them right as the kick misses you.
Z!M about frame data.
Here is El Blaze command list/frame data. http://virtuafighter.com/commands/index.php
And here is a link to a frames guide. http://virtuafighter.com/view.php?section=vf4&file=vf4ft_frames_guide.html
some character wiki strats, like lion and kage, have a couple charts on what to do in advantage/disadvantage. You could use these as an example to figure out how it works.
and watch youtube matches, you can get el blaze strats from there. VF5Akira and Ogikage are two of the beste channels.
I just bought this game and am really liking it. I haven’t played the virtua fighter series since probably 2 and so I am pretty blown away on how technical this game has become. awesome stuff.
yeah, definitely good looking out running the tourney man, really good games. i flipped when i found out chief flash and his crew showed up, haha.
i got 7th right behind them, time to level up :nunchuck:
Online ranking battle? How do I sign up?
probably the best video for people to watch in this thread for vf fundamentals
mucho thank you to chief flash
Flash made another vid this morning going over advanced tactics featuring more on fuzzy guard and how beat it and nitaku situations. Plus some demonstrations on OM usage.

Great vid Frash/Shag.
I’m just, just starting VF5 and I need some advice on who to pick. I’ve tried out a few people, but who’s a good scrub character? Are there any?
I think all characters take a considerable amount of practice to be really good at. The game is very well balanced so in the end it comes down to your personal preference. I’m going with Lei-Fei and Kage but only because I like they’re style and nothing more. I’m still a scrub and keep putting this game on hold for others since it takes a LOT of practice.
If you try Lau or Lei Fei at the start, you’ll think they’re scrub characters cause you might steal some wins with them and ‘mashing’ buttons will make it look like you’re doing stuff. Once you learn about the game though, you’ll realize what you have to apply to those characters to make em work well and you’ll drop the thinking of them as being "Scrub character"s.
First suggestion. Play who interests you the most no matter what.
Second suggestion. If you’re ok with playing someone you don’t necessarily like, play a character with a basic moveset and decent amount of options to learn the system of the game. Characters I think of when I think of this would be Jacky, Lau, Jeffry, and Pai I guess. They’re all fairly cut and dry to begin out with, and most have a good amount options and will let you experience much of the system.
I tried out the Judo Zombie first, and he’s way tough to play as. I just tried out Jacky and he’s much faster, which I like (it’s not that I like fast characters…it’s just that I don’t like slow ones). I’m a way off from stealing wins, as I’m gonna spend many-an-hour offline before I play against somebody who isn’t a computer.
I’m trying out the different throws and Jacky’s hit-and-run moves (which I also like).
