Nice, I see from the second vid that her other mode is more powerful!
I faced him before, very good Akira player. It makes it great that you see a lot of good players online, scrubs are boring to fight against!

Eileen -> Yaso
Unfortunately, the 360 verison is the initial version C that the arcades received, meaning we can’t as of now. Hopefully though through downloadable content in the future, we’ll be able to mix and match just like the current Verison C of arcades, and wear all the whacky new items too.
Yeah that’d be cool
Is the Brady Games guide any good?
It’s really awesome to see so many people interested in this game finally. Hopefully online isn’t the only thing you’ll crave and you’ll look for players outside. I don’t know about you guys but maybe I’m just a lag magnet cause I haven’t had a fight yet where I can fuzzy, TE, and do my moves consistently. Hahahaa.
You’ve seriously been experiencing lag? I’ve played about 200 matches so far and haven’t had even a blip of lag. Maybe you need a better connection. That’s really weird.
Played several online matches at my friend’s, the lag is minimal for an xbox live game, but reaction fuzzy is definitely not possible. 1-2 frames of lag is quite enough to make it an impossibility, but it’s understandable, there’s no way around it.
That being said, I think it’s very good for what it is, and from what I’ve heard it’s the least-laggy 3D online fighter yet, so I think things will only get better. GGPO for VF6?
I had lag in about three or four matches this afternoon, and I think it was because I had a torrent going. Once I stopped it, the lag seemed to go away. Otherwise, I haven’t had any lag issues, played about 27 matches so far, I think? 6-21 or something? I suck.
For people stuck with the standard xbox controller, do you find the d-pad or stick better to fight with? I find the pad so mushy as to be useless, I get more consistency with the stick. But maybe I should switch…
can you fuzzy guard, and TE effectively?
I’m a bit of newb so… what are fuzzy guard and TE ?
TE = Throw escpe
Fuzzy Guard = holding guard, then tapping down (then neutral?) very quickly. If you do it right, you’ll duck long enough to avoid a throw and stand up in time to block fast mids.
The technique is used to defeat throw/attack mixup in certain situations.
[EDIT] In slightly disadvantaged situations (such as being hit by a PK), it’s better to fuzzy with a crouch dash (d/f, d/f) though I’m not sure on this one.
cool shit man i found that fuzzy guard out in training mode, at least i know im keeping up eventhough i dont look online for any tips
apparently tho im gonna have to check up that virtua fighter site, my friend recomended playing against a guy named Dai Bison who has a great El Blaze, he told me i should be checking the site out. we had some really good matches, I got a few excellents but he nearly caught up and had more wins. when i first started to play him I was thinking “whoa hold on let me adjust first”
hopefully i’ll find some other guys like him to race with, wish i had more time to play online though.
So far when I play in private rooms with friends from Colorado and California I can do everything I normally do. Though I’m not the best at fuzzy gaurding, I’m definitely able to TE just fine. When I play ranked matches, it’s kind of a mixed bag. I’d say about a 70/30 ratio of fine connections to not so great and horrible connections. I did notice most of the bad connections are coming from out of country players though, so I can cope with that.
what’s the timing on throw escapes- you do it before the grab , or when you notice being grabbed?
It’s not you. Even the very best connections have at least 2-3 frames of input lag. It’s good netcode but all this “no lag” talk is retarded. It’s just some people can adjust very quickly, others don’t.
Hell after playing a ton of online matches I forgot I was online, then I go offline and it’s like oh, my moves come out so much smoother now.
In VF5 you can do normal fuzzy guard at -5 because standard throws are slower at 12f. In VF4/Evo you can only do normal fuzzy at -1 (block P).
Going to a full crouch position takes 6 frames. You can shave off a frame if you input a crouch dash.
You can do a modified fuzzy guard in VF4/Evo at -2 (hit by PK). In VF5 it can be done at -6.
Throw escapes must be performed before the grab take place. The escape attempt must be done within the frames of the throw attempt.
I’m not sure if zero frame throws can be escaped.
I’ve had a (virtually) lag free experience thus far, and I can’t TE or do Fuzzy’s so I guess it works out.
ggs to you as well man…I switched up to Pai recently so we definitely have to get more matches in.
So I take it most of you guys are playing in ranked matches?
I don’t see many people online. But I only really play player matches so >_>
My gamertag is rythmic if anybody wants to get in some games. It would be nice to get in a nice set with somebody instead of one game then going BACK to lobby.
