yeah when playing with friends that ALLWAYS use a risning attack just back up alittle then use a move that charges if you time it well enough youll hit them on wake up. works to a degree.
Those were really fun matches, I thought I was going to be wondering XBL for hours trying to find someone who knew how to tech roll. You’ve got some of the basics down bro, just keep working on it and make sure to at least try to get the combos when you see em. Vanessa does some sweet damage.
Also regarding rising attacks, I think I won over like 30 matches STRAIGHT just KILLING people who:
#1 Can’t tech roll
#2 ALWAYS rising attack
#3 spam strings and sweeps
I mean if people can’t tech roll, jump on them every time or do an OTG combo like Akira AS3. Chances are they’ll get pissed and if for some reason they knock you down be sure to tech roll as they’ll probably try to jump on you, when they whiff the jump hit em with your best launcher.
If people ALWAYS tech roll just use your longest range combo start to punish them, there other ways of course but this one is the easiet and will get your opponent to stop doing that garbage quickly.
EX: Sarah and Jacky 4K+G, just nail em with it every time they whiff a wake up kick. Then proceed to combo (P>2KK for sarah, P>9K+G for jacky, but those are just general combos). You’ll take a good amount of life and put him back on the ground to either jump on him, pressure if he does tech roll, and combo him if he does a wake up kick again.
People who spam strings are pretty easy to kill too. Like here are some moves that kill PPP bullshit for some characters.

The others also have them I just can’t remember off the top of my head. But yeah nobody can spam anything in this game for long cause the system just provides you valid answers.

But at least scrubs don’t have the higher advantage, they can easily be taken down.
I did played a good Eileen player online and I tend to see a lot of good Lau players recently.
What are some good tactics for Goh?
I’ve converted myself into a scrubby Kage-Maru player from the awful Lei-Fei I was. Oh well, I’m having some fun with Kage and considering playing Jeffry (since he stole my name, even if he spells it wrong)

Actually I’ve seen tons of Jackys online and I use him quite a bit myself. Most Jackys I’ve faced like to spam the pp and kk combos, so they’re easy to kill. There aren’t many good ones out there that I’ve seen so far. I agree with the El Blaze/ Jeffry thing and yes, there aren’t that many good Akira players online either. The online timing is a big issue though, so maybe not all of them are scrubby. Akira is really tricky to use online. I mostly use him offline just so I won’t develop bad habits and mess up my timing, but I played someone fairly close to my neighborhood online today and it was decent.
Play against Konjou Akira’s Akira.

Hey man, I have a ton more respect for your record than these whack MCs who clearly arn’t good at the game, and keep DCing before htey lose just to save face lol. Isn’t ANY shame in online records so long as their legit. Besides, it’s just online, we can’t take it that seriously, even if the connections are wonderful.

I haven’t played a virtua fighter game seriously in nearly a decade now however so I am pretty scrubby.
ok, so I just played a few playermatch games and got my butt kicked a bit. One question.
Is there really no way to rematch and keep playing the same person when playing online? All three people I played after the game was over the only options to pick were to go back to playermatch screen or give them a review 
that is pretty shoddy.
Create a private match and invite someone, then you can rematch all you want.

The only thing I can’t believe less than that we’re going through the Hyper Fighting loss drop thing again is that people can retain any sort of pride when their loss total is completely buffeted by dropping. It just doesn’t make sense on any level whatsoever.
This sucks, can’t play this till next year. Through some slight unfortunate events I spent all my money and won’t have any more till next year since I have to earn up for the next semester of college. I’ll probably try to get some matches going at my friends house but I really don’t like losing just cause I can’t really practice at home. Losing outside of that doesn’t really bother me (Makes me want to try harder). And VF5 is IMO by far the most even 3D fighter in terms of tiers, gonna try to get good with Kagemaru and Lei fei once I finally get it around March or so.
