The NEW TN THREAD: Trojan MMs, T-shirt matches, Bawse Battles, Evo qualifiers, LETS GO!

This helped immensely with kdash when you have to cancel out the first hit of his dp into qcb B (x 2). for DC combo string…takes getting used to. Sort of like sf4 negative edge but…not exactly. Its like churning cake icing…

Yeah, it is definitely fun to attempt to learn that game again. It really is awesome once you actually get into the match.

OH SNAP - CALLED OUT!

@O: GG in the MM man … I definitely wasn’t playing like myself but happens. Good stuff with Guile, I can tell you’ve been practicing lately. Your spacing is getting WAYYYY better and you seem a lot more patient on wakeup since you only hit me with like three reversals the entire set. And yes it IS better to take the throw than eat 330 damage lol - only took you 4 times to learn that. But overall good job … I need to get a new stick so I can actually play again. Till next time homie - and you know there will be!

@Tim: GGs in AE. I feel much better playing against Bison for some reason - I’m not getting discouraged as much, nor am I just letting you do whatever you want all the time anymore. But, still a tough matchup. I’m sorry I don’t tech like everyone else so you can hit me with your CH bullshit lol … I like how in one setup you waited like 10 frames before you did the CH setup because of how late I was teching … that was hilarious.

Can I get a headcount from everyone in Clarksville/Knoxville/Mid TN/Cookeville who are planning on going to Bawse Battles June 2 in Memphis?

You already kno I’m there man.

I’m going of course.

A couple of my MTNG guys were talking about going after I slapped them with the logo, but I personally will not be in attendance. I also cannot confirm concrete at this time that they will be going.

Like I said mang, K’ ain’t easy. I’ve considered saying “Fuck 'em” Plenty of times, but for some reason I keep going back to him. I also considered playing EX Iori again, because it seems the general consensus of which Iori is stronger and more HXC has shifted in EX’s favor… But then I decided I just like Claw way more.

Main problem for most people isn’t exactly hitting a nice combo or an HD, it’s the hit confirms in the first place, and then getting full damage. Once you can hit an HD off a low B, you become alot more dangerous. Practice that If you haven’t. Certain characters like Shen really need it to be fully dangerous.

Flymike- If you didn’t already know ( I thought you did ) I am moneymatching you. I guess at MBB? Haven’t decided exactly what I wanna play, but I’m thinking $30, first to 5. If you want to play for more we can.<3

@Arson or Bishop

So I’m doing Claw Iori’s HD Combo where he in the corner he loops qcb B, DP C and for some reason command grab likes to come out sometimes. How do I stop this do I need to go neutral between the HD cancels or something?

Only game that makes sense is Kang. SF would be way unfair to Mike and Tek way unfair to you. You could both play cross blindfolded or something but even then Mike wont play that game.

I’m set to go!

Ya I’m for sure in.

While he’s blindfolded just have him give the stick to Woot. Andy will never know.

Re: Sev and Hiryu good stuff last night guys. Y’all are both really good I’m just hard on myself because I don’t think I’m doing nearly as well as I should. I still feel I make really bad desicions esp. at close range or under pressure. Like what you said about grapplers, I don’t know if I’m overthinking it or just not thinking enough. Perfect example when I was playing against Zohta (Gief player) in Arkansas I was thinking “there is no way I’ll get SPD’d 3 times in a row”. And then I did. So I thought “well this guy doesn’t respect me at all” and I got hit by dumb shit like meaty lariat trying to get out. At that point do I try to move or block and bait something unsafe like greenhand or air grab? This is when I ALWAYS seem to guess wrong.

As it stands I’m like #10 in Memphis in this game which is not where I want to be. Nothing personal…the game is still fun to me anyways. Even when I’m acting all serious, it’s like a weird love-hate thing. Must be how the MvC2 vets felt lol.

Played tekken online (laggy as crap) beat the first guy i fought and he sent me that i cheated with lag. Ahhhh i love salty tears lol

Yo, I really don’t like how you putting words in bold. So I’ll do $20. I don’t trust your RR ass.

I’ll do a SF4 MM. I haven’t practiced since beginning of Super so I’m too ignorant to be afraid of anything besides AE Yun or any 2012 Bison or Ryu shit that I haven’t seen.

This would work, until afterwards when
notices a little neon vomit stain on Woot’s hand. Then Woot yells, “Yea I did it, it was me. When else am I gonna play?! Huh? No one plays! Hey…you can’t walk a mile in my shoes. You think you know me?!”

Then he turns on MvC3 and grabs Arson’s hand and forcefully places it on the stick. Then he picks Zero and holds Arson’s finger down on the button charging shots until his finger snaps out of it’s socket. Arson screams in pain, “EEEEIGH! You son of a…motherfucker…AAAAGH…you’re insane!” Then Woot says, “You like that huh? How does it feel? I’ve destroyed the nerves in my hands long ago. So if you don’t know my story…DON’T JUDGE ME!”

Then he runs out of the venue and down the street until he’s out of sight.

Yeah mang just clean up the input. It does like to come out, but if you let it go to neutral it won’t come out. If you go from back of the QCB to the Forward of the DP motion cleanly you shouldn’t get it either.

Yeah all of that shit is going to happen.

And yes, I meant King money match. 20 is fine.

Try not to think about it in terms of " this player doesn’t respect me because he did X 3 times in a row". Take out the personal aspect of so and so doesn’t respect me. Its just about being in situations where you have to make a read. Perfect example Josh and I are playing Kang he is Clark and gets the KD in the corner. On three wake ups in a row I jump and he air grabs me. I do it a fourth time anyway cause I “know” Josh wont expect it a 4th time, sure enough he cmd grabs and I punish. Thats really all those situations are, making “educated” guesses based on player tendency, statistics as you perceive them and luck. Lastly try not to get mentally broken when you are grabbed twice or whatever, that usually means the other player is in your head and your being frustrated only makes it easier for them to read you

It’s not guessing wrong all the time … once they throw you twice (or even three times) they are setting you up, because they KNOW the next time you are going to want to get out - it’s called conditioning your opponent. It’s the EXACT same principle when I decide to go for a frame trap vs a throw with Cody. You condition them to do one thing - and if you keep doing it enough, instinctively (usually) they will do the opposite, so knowing that information - I’ll do a frame trap instead and they will eat it.

Also - see what Sev said.

If I can hitch a ride with someone, I’m going.

GGs to Woot, Sev, and Hiryu at Fight Night last night!

@Woot - That was the most retarded fun set I’ve played with you yet. Magneto “unblockable” tri-jump mixups are so stupid. LOL

@Sev - God I suck so bad at KOF. I don’t even think I’ll do that well in the RR now  All of your Andy issues are just in your head man. He’s a very good and safe character with all the tools to victory. He’s one of my old mains from KOF 12 so I can show you some stuff next time we play. GGs

@Hiryu - You certainly have the right idea when it comes to Tekken. Just gotta work on your basic punishment and loosen up the bread meaning don’t be afraid to take a risk here and there. Most hopkicks are only punishable by 1,2s

@Squabb- I will teach you the art of Miguel. I have so much shit with him it’s ridiculous. You chose the right character to learn my friend.

@Jas - You rage quit. Come on dude…
