The NEW TN THREAD: Trojan MMs, T-shirt matches, Bawse Battles, Evo qualifiers, LETS GO!

Lolol look at this nigga’s av a few times while you read his post.

Yeah I’ve thought about doing that but Mature’s HD combos seem pretty weak compared to the rest of the characters I’m picking up. Not like I use HD now anyway but I’m definitely putting EX Kyo first for now. I wish there was a bit more online comp though. There’s so many characters I have no idea what to do against, leading to me almost losing to 2 people at Final Round who I KNOW I could’ve beaten a lot more soundly. I’m still annoyed I lost to Dieminion in KoF…

GGs to Wootsick…quick question on Heihachi…what do I have to block high and what do I have to block low and what does that weird kick overhead do for properties? Sometimes it hit through 360s and lariats and what exactly can you do besides counter that leads to combo?

His chop is an overhead attack that crushes high (it beat lariat alot) and goes through throws and is +2 on block. It’s basically one of the best normals in the game and links into big damage.

His leg movement isn’t an overhead but more like Makoto’s far stand heavy kick it moves his hurtbox WAY back to counter pokes and throws.

I don’t use lows often, sometimes if I use his target combo and I see you in blockstun I’ll use the low target combo to reset the situation for another high/low mixup, but most of his combos start off highs. But all of his crouching kicks are low and when he steps forward and hits your shins its low.

His defensive options are just basically using the counter if someone is doing the walk forward LP’s. Counter loses to jumps and late throws or moves.

His reversal dragon punch looking thing is safe on block and has invincibility for most of it untill a few frames before it hits, kinda like Rose’s EX spiral in AE.

Poshib: I think it’s the 5 on 5 TN team not the Memphis team that is the concern…if we just pick a ton of people then no one has a chance to get in on that action…Sev just beat Jacob here but it was hella close…I think for competition’s sake 3 spots vs Alabama should be chosen by Round Robin play. No one doubts you’ll win that Round Robin but everyone wants a chance to play, that’s all. The respect of the matter is allowing people to come in and play for the spot but I’m not the one deciding on the 5 vs 5 rules va Alabama, everyone has to come to an agreement, all I am doing is running the Middle TN one and going from there to get our 5 vs your 5…

Awesome thank you…I don’t really know much about high/lows so this helps me against him…some of his stuff looked like it was hitting Low so it was a bit confusing at first…

@Mike

Look mane don’t hate on Asuka. I used to play her a long time ago when there was a arcade here and I didn’t know what the FGC was lol. Respect!

So who’s hosting tonight. Or will I be forced to play online multiplayer or single player games???

5v5s are about VICTORY. Not about people just “getting to play”. That’s what casuals are for. There is no need for a Round Robin for spots when we already know who our best players are. All-Star teams aren’t made up of people who just “want to get in on the action”. They’re made up of the best players of the regions to compete and win.

However Round Robins are fair and actually on a larger scale determine who are TRULY the most consistent players who win. Also we may beat the hell out of X player who beats the hell out of Y player but Y player may beat the shit out of you and Round Robins account for that, bracket play won’t.

I do agree on the fact that I don’t think a Round Robin in KOF wouldn’t really change much though

So apparently…where I stand in KOF around here(TN) is questionable? Alright…bring on the Round Robin.

Tbh, that’s what I thought a state 5v5 was. Victory, and the 5 current best people in that state. You can prob add all these variables, but I think it’s understood. While I know that people get better all the time, come on now. And everyone that’s a factor has pretty much played everyone already except Bishop vs Jacob (I got $20 on the REAL Takuma > Mr.Karate lol) but both of them should be on squad unless Pat just rapes Jake now from tourney. If Sev won a Nashville tourney, and if Rell, Marcus, Bishop have all placed top at these KoF tournies that have included Nash, then…come on. I said maybe have 2 Nash spots because I knew people would probably catch feelings, but I didn’t think folks would really be serious about this “wanna play” stuff.

Lol shit I was the dude that originally DECLARED a 5v5 to Bama in their own thread, and I still think I can beat any of you fucks on a good day, but I’m not about to demand a RR to decide that Bishop or Sev is more polished, focused, clutch, or stronger than me. Regardless how many casuals I win. This is silly. You guys know what’s up.

@ Robert: Nigga I’m not hating lol. I been using Asuka since DR, and in plenty T6 MMs. She was my secondary for a good while. I like her, but she IS dry. This is the whole reason that the best players besides the pedos use her. Just solid, dry goodness. Even with her more creative stuff she’s still just straightforward. TTT2 gave her some crunk cancels, but she’s still a box of saltine crackers. And that’s not a bad thing.

@ Adrian: Fuck you nigga. I tried to play you last weekend and you were playing ACV and shit. Getting blown off by something big. Fuck you.

I mean just look at the RR we had for AE some months back before office battles, there wasn’t too much question who was going to be on the team but it made everyone feel better for having it justified.

I don’t care either way, if we just wanna run with who we know, f*** your feelings let’s go.

I’ve been saying TN KoF team should be Marcus, Rell, Bishop, Sev, and Jake off top just for the record.

Alright guys here are my thoughts on the teams and formats. I know Jason already posted up MidTN stuff but I’ve been having some discussions with folks and getting good feedback, so I want to get some more here.

I REALLY feel like there shouldn’t be any mixing of formats. We should do either a Round Robin OR just select the teams via a vote. I agree with arguments on both sides, but I really feel like if you have players that next to no one would dispute having a spot on the team, why play for it? I feel like having the players fight it out only proves who the better player is THAT DAY, not necessarily who the better player for the team would be. I agree that if we DO play, Round Robin should be the format without question. Cale also made a good point that even players that aren’t planning on going to Memphis should be encouraged to enter because it just serves to further prove who the better players are in a variety of matchups.

Let’s get into the specific teams:

TN vs. AL KoF - Now. Is anyone here really going to dispute that this team should be Marcus, Rell, Bishop, Sev, and JFord? I mean REALLY? That one is pretty cut and dry.

Memphis vs. Nashville AE - Same scenario - would anyone dispute this team being myself, Pat, Jake, Eddie, and say Phil based on his recent tourney wins/placings?

Memphis vs. Nashville KoF - This one is a toss up for MidTN. Memphis’ team I imagine will be almost identical minus Jake.

I am taking several factors into consideration - CONSISTENT tourney wins/placings, characters/matchups, player tendencies, all of it. If these players have already proven themselves in these areas, why spend time and energy trying to coordinate round robins to have them play it out?

I don’t want to come across as elitist or a dick here. I know everyone wants a shot to represent their city/state. I just feel like the players that have worked hard and done well should be given a little recognition. I’m not against playing it out, nor am I afraid to in the slightest. I just lean towards Bishop’s mindset - you assemble the STRONGEST players you have access to and put together the best team you can.

All that being said I like the discussion and these events are going to be beyond crunk. Let me know what you guys think.

Tekken 6 re-bought.

Tried to play me in what? Where? You just asked me how ACV was. You didn’t say you wanted to play anything? I spent most of the weekend looking for (and not finding) people to play. Because apparently I my schedule conflicts with everybody else’s. I’m never off at the same time as anybody who’s hosting.

All that text and not a single syllable about the NeoMemphis Vs UltraNashville Tekken 5v5? And after FlyMike himself decreed that it needed to happen? For shame.

Memphis squad final member would be Herb. He’s been on my ass too much lately to fake the funk or WASTE TIME PLAYING HIM IN A RR WHEN I JUST PLAYED HIM A DAY AGO AND GOT SCRAPED.

You fools see how I keep it real? No love lost.

Because I looked in the obvious dictionary under the word Round Robin and it said, A way for people to verify assbeatings and then say, “Oh.”

Be strong. It’ll be another day YUH GOTTA HOLD ON…

I’m comfortable with that Kang squad N-Jilla just posted.

I’m also comfortable with replacing myself with anyone that feels they deserve a spot on the AE team, if the rest of the team respects the decision to fill my spot with someone else. No harm no foul. I just want us to do well as a whole.

I’m just comfortable…

*goes shopping for warm-ups made from the finest of materials… online

@ Adrian: You a goddamn lie you wretched Vega slaw! I was asking you about ACV because I was bored then I asked was Ernie still alive and if you knew what if anything was going down. I guess it’s just beneath you to say, “We can play” like old days before the DLC. You’ve changed. That blue shirt has made you a totally different person.

@ Abe: Nobody was focused on that anyway. If I know I’m not cut for a state team in one game atm, I’d be eager to take my frustrations out in a team event for another game.

AKA…train hard for TEKKEN TOILET BOWL 5v5. Fuck a RR to die the same way you died yesterday to the same person.

Sigh…this is the diff between then and now. And why niggas had numbers to show rank. All the negativity and drama that whole system brought upon us, it still stopped UofM players from demanding that they hold a Hunger Games to represent all of TN in GG at FR. God, why won’t you come down from the heavens with a golden glove and slap people sometimes…
