@ Josh: Lol, TZ has been horrible since T6 came out.
@ Jason: No prob. Forgot you asked about combos but that stuff is largely the same as BR. As for Nina, you’re talking about her staple from most launches:
df+3,2~u, ss+1~f, ws+1, 2, dash, 1+4 b!
Or
df+3,2~u, ss+1~b, u/f+4, 1, dash, 1+4 b!
2nd combo has always been her most used for damage of u/f+4. But you can use first 1 for the carry of ws+1 into FLAPS if you want to flap before bound. Nina can always flap after bound too. Flapping is a whole other thing for another day lol. It’s hard as shit but was a must to master for Nina players. Maybe not so much in TTT2 now, but still. Dont worry about that now though.
@ Sev: Lol! Nah man I ain’t shit. Just trying to be helpful. Speaking of Gene, I haven’t heard from in TTT2. Yet…
@ Graham: I’m going to tell you right now, that same as T6, everyone is “good”. Drag was great in T6. Top 10 or 12 in most opinion. And he’s only gotten better. Feng is one of the best characters in the game again now like his former self from 5. Still retains all his options, but now has the damage making him very scary plus beefy new moves. Wang/Feng is my B squad but I haven’t put much time at all into them. Just know what works, new stuff, etc.
To all of you, just play who you like. Seriously. This scene as a whole, besides a few people, isn’t strong enough to where tiers have any bearing whatsoever on outcome of matches. That being said, team dynamics stuff does have an effect to an extent. Some players have a main and then they pick up a TOOL character for the sole fact of strengthening their mains combos. Other players use characters with natural synergy like quick Netsu regeneration(Rage when partner gets mad you’re getting ass kicked), special tag grabs, winposes, etc. Others may pick a character that compliments their main by compensating for their main’s weaknesses or whatever. That’s fine. Thing is, that when that main is getting rocked, if they have not fully learned their tool character or ultilize them to the fullest extent, then it’s just a liability. Play who you like. My team is Gan/Zaf. ZERO synergy whatsoever! But I know both charas in and out and I do have combos, setups, etc. with them both. But even moreso than that, I can utilize each individually in those crucial moments where it’s 1on1. In that regard, I force them to work for me.
Also don’t forget, each character has taggable launchers, moves, grabs, etc. When you tag these, you begin taking your opponent’s red health. So obviously, you should tag out of moves at nearly every opportunity except for in certain situations. Some characters do have better combos with certain characters than others. Some characters actually have taggable stuff that they are able to do more damage from by themselves, believe it or not. But no red health will be taken. All that damage can possibly be regenerated. Tag Assaults are cool and damaging. But they also regenerate red health for opponent. You can have a sexy tag combo that is depleting red health but as soon as you b! into TA, you start giving red health back. In a way, it can be counter-productive, but not if you can manage it or strategize these situations.
Furthermore, in TTT2, damage scaling is weird. Sometimes doing seemingly less equals more. I have combos that look 10x amazing than the ones I do now, are longer and involve more shit, but actually end up doing less damage. You don’t have to have lengthy shit after launch. Sometimes b! early allows you to connect stronger TAs and enders. This will have to be experimentation on you all’s part. Also variate combos as neccessary if wall is near or to carry near wall.
Shortening combos to bait a Tag Crash is a whole other deal but I don’t wait to cram too much here. For now, just pick WHOEVER you like. FUCK all the dumb shit. If you want to pick up a character just because they have something with another character, and you’re ass with tool character, then you’ll be ASS. Simple as that.
