Would love to play TTT2 but I feel like I got burnt way too bad with Tekken 6. MidTN people shitting their pants over it and saying they’ll play it then only playing fucking SF4. Bought and rebought that a sad amount of times with the hope of people playing it.
I will promise you, in THE sexiest way possible, I will play you in TTT2 on Live, in person, fight night, whatever if you will play. Can’t speak for anyone else, but fuck it man. Video games.
Wish I could have came down for games saturday. Had to work, and couldn’t afford to give up my shift.
I’ve hardly touched AE since I’ve had no one to play after Zeth moved to Nashville. Still playing marvel, quite a bit actually. I’ve even suffered through some xbl matches.
I’d like to make it down to every fight night, but it’s just not been possible… and honestly, i’ll be lucky to make it down twice before king of the bling.
Good news is, I’m starting a new job soon. Should have the money to come down often, I just need to get settled in, get my first check, and plan my work schedules so I will be off tuesdays. This month will be hell, but it’ll be worth it.
If I can come up Tuesday, I’ll play tekken, it looks really fun.
Though I don’t know how to play it yet.
LOL, I don’t hate the game, I just don’t like the fact that no one can really say that to do with each character because the moveset is so crazy and it’s hard to remember everything, too much schoolwork when I just want to play the game. The problem is you can’t just get “good” by playing the game, you need to know frames and get used to “getting hit” all the time…
Graham, the problem is not even that, there ARE people that play Tekken, the issue is the scenes are different and the Capcom people and the Tekken people don’t see eye to eye for some reason…
I mean, honestly, there were THREE different Tekken gatherings in Middle Tennessee Friday, and the only person to make it out to the tourney was Dimo. If the game is just to be played casually, that’s fine, but the reason the scene won’t develop here is because of the players not wanting it to develop. Because of that it’s forcing us to change a lot of things about King of the Bling because it just seems no one cares enough about TTT2 for tourneys and “Game Galaxy” gatherings at the very least. If I see people at Play N Trade and that new Murfreesboro place when they have tourneys and they KNOW about Game Galaxy they’re getting called out, lol
All I know is, don’t complain that there is no scene when you want to stay home, play it online, and not come to the tournaments or gatherings…you have an arcade/game place that is not profitable that I re-opened in this mall spot against my better judgment so the area has a place for tournaments and gaming and it won’t be here forever…so support the place =)
As good as Dimo is he will admit that he can’t help you with most of your own characters…there’s a lot of training on your own and Tekken Zaibatsu stuff…
It’s tough to make it out to tourneys and gatherings this month in general and a lot of people really live far away, and it’s understandable, the problem isn’t just limited to this one tourney, MWC had the same issues with 40+ people backing out simultaneously the same weekend; we just can’t afford much more tournaments where people don’t show up, so hopefully King of the Bling has decent numbers with all of the extra cash.
Caught up on thread.
Work is killing me.
Play new Tekken.
Sev call me, maybe.
…not a joke, holler at me man.
Arson: The only person that can get the word out on these tournaments is Richard; my schedule is completely booked. Basically he has been bombarding threads with King of the Bling ( I think ) but I just have zero time to dedicate for it. I can provide the venue, extra money, and even run the brackets but I can’t promote…let him know SPECIFICALLY what he has to do for Eventhubs, as lack of promotion is the biggest issue we have…
Milln has been trying as much as he can to get people out; his tournaments with ZERO SRK advertising do better than ours, and this was not a typical tournament for him, his is usually at the end of the month but our scene is scattered amongst 90 miles of players on all sides, so it’s getting tougher and tougher to get people to come out but I think this is affecting EVERY scene right now, not just ours.
Want to know how I learned Tekken? … I learned how to do ONE full BnB combo (even if its not the most damaging), learned a few (and by few I mean ~4) one-two combinations (mixing up high and low), learned what a bind was, and half-ass learned how to stand up and tech throws. After learning that it’s all mixing and matching shit in the game, and just TRYING things while you play.
I understand I’m not super awesome at Tekken, but you don’t have to know your characters entire move set to be decent/good at the game, like you think. I mean shit, I don’t even know a single follow up or combo with Miguel’s 2nd stance (in fact, I don’t even know the name of it). Also, movement is very important, and apparently what I do in movement is considered “good and wtf” to FlyMike and Sev and really all I’m doing is what** feels right**. Should I sidestep here? Sure. Should I just lie here for a second then stand straight up? Sure.
I’ve honestly been in training mode with Tekken TWICE and it was to learn a BnB and a few one-two combinations. Other then that, I’ve learned more by getting my ass handed to me and just TRYING shit. You will learn how to move, or you will continue to get your ass handed to you. You will learn how to half ass tech throws, or you will be thrown all day. You will soon learn different variations (whether it be wall, or whatever) of your own BnB just from playing and trying things. So don’t complain about the move set when you can use only 30% of it and still be decent/good at the game and have fun.
Facebook helps a lot - especially if you are friends with a lot of the surrounding states players. Post in the threads of surrounding states maybe once every two weeks helps too.
Milln took my tournament virginity, and he was not gentle. What an ass.
GGs to everybody, though. I’mma keep practicing and hopefully not choke so hard next time.
Hey guys, I made a general Facebook group for fighting game players in Middle TN as I was thinking not everybody that likes fighters is interested in posting and chasing people down on forums
This is for anybody that plays, has played, or shows any interest in playing fighting games in the area. If you know somebody that want’s to get into fighters, invite them! Anybody is welcome to join, and I’m encouraging you guys to spread this to other forums (Dustloop, TekkenZaibatsu, 8wayrun, etc). Check it out!
I really like this game, but at the same time really hate it. It ALMOST seems like more random 1-touch kills then Marvel, lol.
I need to look up some videos, a big problem, at least of mine, is once i get grounded. It seems like i can’t move or get up without getting punished and not be able to do shit about it.
Join the Facebook group I made and set up some casuals man, practice!
Just joined a few minutes ago. I’m not giving up.
Awesome, I encourage you all to join up and start finding you some training partners
Shit, son… I’m desperate enough I might even play it. I don’t know how good Bryan and Hwoarang are, but that’s who I’m looking at. If you Jason and Dimo keep playing, I know Pat will play any game just like me, but unlike me he is actually good at everything he touches. He could play T6, I remember. Dunno if he cares about TTT2 but we could have a decent scene if everyone that plays it came around. I can think of at least 9 people that play or would play if there was a scene. Only reason I don’t care about it is because we have no scene for it, but right now IMO we have no scene for anything in MIdTN other than persona, which will probably a focus for me for a while.
Also how’s TTT2 online? Are throws still a problem in netplay?
I’ve only played a few matches online so far, and it seems to be pretty good. I only had one lag spike playing Jason on release night, smooth since
Well, I guess I’ll start since I know FlyMike plays Zafina and this is what helps me most:
FlyMike, what are 5 techniques/combos you do that change stances in the middle of things and are safe? This is all I ever do:
1
1, 2
Down Towards 1
1 + 2 B!, Down Towards 1 into some combo that I can’t explain
Back 1 + 2
that’s all I got. LOL…well, i have more, but you have seen me play that game, I don’t know much about her and I want more stuff and I can’t remember it all.
And I need Nina help too
From what I remember during my Tekken run in my teens, Bryan was always really good at all levels of play and he’s a blast to watch. He does a ton of damage and is super tricky to boot, having a useful unblockable in previous games.
Bryan is still good as always. I can tell you that for a fact since I main him in TTT2.

TTT2 is good online.
