The New TN Thread: Fried Chicken and Tekken

Wow, seriously? That wasn’t even close to the main point of the post. I was simply pointing out that the main reason I get hit by it is because of the crazy fast meter building in the game, which was my example of why I think meter builds a little too fast for my tastes. I wasn’t complaining at all about the move or me getting hit by it too much.

The meter in the game is fine. I think like maybe once I’ve complained about the meter in the game. You get first hit, you get a free bar. That’s how it works.

I had no idea.

Glad I could help!

Ha, sorry. Meant to say that Brink has been fixed. 16 player multi, much less lag, and what levels have those stalemate chokepoints? But hey, you can continue playing your MK9.

Also, once again, Portal 2.

Basically any level that has a sharp corner is going to be a choke point in extraction. I’ve done it, it’s not fun. It runs the timer down pretty badly. And it’s still laggy, it’s like the shooter version of MVC3. But hey, you can continue playing your Portal 2…until you beat it lol (herp derp free dlc for portal 2).

Wait, there’s always a defender and an attacker in that game. How is it a stalemate if the defenders are running the clock out like they should be doing? There’s also more than one path to your objective especially with the free run system.

Also, already beat Portal 2, and playing it again good sir. Can’t wait to try to co-op on it though.

If you’re on offense, you will lose. So I guess if that map type comes up and you’re attacking, might as well go play portal 2. It’s not even a real free run system, its pretty half assed. Hold the bumper, do tricks.

Portal 2 really is a great game but first off there is no reason to play Brink if you own TF2 and if you need a good console shooter get crysis 2

what he said

Looking like Crysis 2 will be my choice for holding me over until the next big fps, going to try and snag it this weekend.

I’ve had Bulletstorm from Gamefly for over a month, and I just started it today. Definitely just a guilty pleasure game to play through once and be done with it. Fun for a shooter, and I hate shooters.

Man, MK’s training mode has to be one of the most inadequate I’ve come across. I want to practice setups but the options are so slim it proves very difficult.

I hope that’s in NRS’s pipeline for the next series of patches…

I quit playing bulletstorm once I realized it was a first person GoW. The controls are the same, bro-fives are there, graphics are the same, same company, shit it IS gears, just first person

Gears campaigns are always boring to me, and the boss battles are always lacking. Don’t remind me of that pile of shit final boss fight that GoW2 brought us. You just held down the hammer of dawn towards some giant monster, and you couldn’t tell what was going on.

At least in Bulletstorm, there’s been fun sections in every chapter (so far). Controlling that mecha Godzilla thing was interesting. On top of that, at least I have “goals” for killing generic enemies certain ways.

But yeah, it is FPS Gears.

Chris: We must play some VF5 even though Sega doesn’t want us to touch it. And yea MK9 training mode is garbage. You’re actually better off using another person to test shit in that game like me and Bishop do. LOL at them putting Tournament Mode in the game but Tom Brady doesn’t want to use it in tournaments. If Tom Brady was allowed to enter big tournaments, and with Subby no less, then I’m pretty sure he’d reconsider.

Brink is without a doubt the worse purchase I every made, day 1 midnight release at that. And the only people who tolerate it are fakers. The ones who only get one game a year and psyche themselves into believing it’s decent or has redeeming qualities. It doesn’t. Hyped game failed hard. End of story.

I myself was looking for a shooter, hell anything to play. It’s a drought in my opinion. And also in my opinion, games suck nowadays. I preordered Red Faction Armageddon which is so different than RF: Guerilla that it isn’t even funny. Whole community shunned it but we’re just going to have to love it for what it is. Unforgivable is that they totally scrapped competitive multiplayer, which was so epic and the main draw in Guerilla if you didn’t like the open-world style campaign all about destroying anything with the best physics engine this generation. Now Armageddon introduces aliens on mars, is a Pitch Black/Dead Space knockoff, linear, third-person, darker game but with godlike physics engine and destruction still intact. At the very least, this will still continue to be a huge stress reliever. But only multiplayer we got this time around is a 4p co-op horde mode called Infestation with diff objectives. I really hope they’re trolling us and there will be a competitive multiplayer mode somewhere down the line. I was on the fence overall, but recent reviews got me back on board to take the plunge June 7th.

P.S. I tried to appreciate Bulletstorm for what it was, and I do, but I couldn’t play it for more than 2 hours. Returned it same day and copped Borderlands again, which I also returned just because I knew I wouldn’t play through it again and PSN was down. And for some reason I refuse to buy Crysis 2.

P.S.S. Gears has always intrigued me. It’s like the only reason I’d consider un-boxing a 360. And I’d very much like to playthrough 1 and 2 before 3 comes out. If only I didn’t have a job I would right now.

yo mike. MWC needs to be the place of our Lion King money match. Mad hype son

Turns out that I’ll be in Murf tomorrow with GRam and Arson. You bring that shit to Pat’s. We’ll game. And drink. I think I still remember some Goh combos.

FLyMike: Tom (Bill) was only not allowed to enter the PDP tournament. That is it. Many people were not allowed to enter the PDP tournament, though. Anyone that worked on the game early and got paid for it, as well as Prima/PDP could not enter. I know he was allowed to enter the tournament that just passed in Chicago, so not sure why he wasn’t there…

Shin: No need to bring PS3, we only need 2 for Tekken and Arson is closer and has it covered, many thanks though for offering

I’m thinking of bringing an HD Remix setup to Hastings, as I am a big fan of the game and I feel it is underappreciated. Would anyone play if I brought it?
