Really, if anyone doesn’t believe my match record, just watch the stream. Every match I played ended up on it but two: my win against Cedric W and loss against Raekwon.

No, you’re not getting away from this. You made a very serious accusation, and you need to tell me who you are and what evidence you have to prove your claim.
I wasn’t at this event, but you guys are funny accusing Duckie of “cheating” to get 3rd. I mean, that’s as low as I have ever heard…
In order to “completely” rig a bracket you have to have a person GUARANTEE they can get through an entire bracket beating people they are SUPPOSED to beat.
Even with that said and done, a PROPER bracket is flipped upside down in certain sections of each tournament.
Again, this is if you KNOW how to run a bracket.
Unfortunately as you guys can see from every tournament you are in that seedings are done differently by different people.
If there is an issue with “seeds” then you can’t complain about people “placing” well in tournaments.
Let’s be honest here. We all know that tournaments don’t necessarily show the better players except for 1st and 2nd. The only TRUE 100% bonafide way to do this is to have a round robin for every single tournament which you know will not happen.
Duckie got 3rd. Congrats go to him for doing this ESPECIALLY since you guys were talking mad shit about him. Is he better than all of the Memphis players? No. Did he place higher than them this tournament? Yes. he deserves props. Is he better than you guys thought he was? Yes he is.
I’m not really sure why there is do much drama going on over there all the time and you know, maybe since I don’t live there and it’s none of my business, I shouldn’t be posting, but I know a hell of a lot about brackets and I know from just seeing a lot of you guys talk there are TONS and TONS of excuses about almost everything imaginable, from lag, to characters, to rigged brackets, I mean look at yourselves for a second?
And I am being 100% serious here…do you ever really see myself or Jacob complain about anything besides going at people posting stuff on here that are complaining about everything we mentioned?
The bottom line is there are easy brackets and there are hard brackets. If you don’t like the way a tournament is run, then don’t go to that specific one anymore. There are a LOT of tournament organizers that can’t run brackets or know how to cycle through tournaments and seed properly. Yes you should seed properly, but NO you can’t EXPECT to be COMPLETELY separated from everyone, because then you are trying to situated based on what WHO YOU think are the better players…and we all know upsets happen.
The only “true” method is separating people by region and seeding top 4 unless you have a ton of good players in pools and have to separate that way which can be very very difficult. It took me 4 hours to get pools separated for MK and region and top player seeding was a pain to deal with.
Finishing up rant madness, a lot of you guys are still very new to this scene. Duckie got 3rd, congrats go out to him. He had to WIN his matches to get 3rd. He EARNED this, so you need to RECOGNIZE and RESPECT that. It’s so petty to complain about a fellow player in your area getting 3rd. You should be happy for him.
Didn’t you guys mention other tournaments had brackets awkward in your eyes as well? How would SSF4 affect Duckie in that sense?
I’ve seen Boom Cube win tournaments and go 0-2, then get 3rd. I’ve seen Eddie go 0-2, get second, go 1-2, get 3rd, etc. I’ve seen Richard go 0-2, and 1-2 and get 3rd a couple of times. What does this mean? They placed in their respective spots in their tournaments, that’s it.
I just think accusing him of asking the TO to stack brackets is pretty hilarious though. He still has to win, LOL. Would you guys have said this if he didn’t get 3rd? Goodness.
There will ALWAYS be tournament with harder brackets. Heck, I was put out of pools in CVS2 the two times I entered at EVO because of my bracket but got top 25 in 3s which I am much worse at??? LOL…I mean, you can’t control that, but if you don’t like what happened at the tournament, don’t go back, simple as that…
No matter how you wanna see it Duckie, not even Nashville can help you out of this one. I was watching those brackets closely since they were all kinds of fucked up and trust me, there is no way in fucking hell that your name could end up in 20 different places on that bracket.<<<( exaggerating obviously, but it was on there alot, and erased since the brackets were done with pencil.) I wouldn’t necessarily call it right out cheating, but that you manipulated the brackets to a very big extent? YES YOU FUCKING DID! Again, I/WE can eat a dick, but I was there… I saw the brackets, and was one of the guys that was trying to help with that fiasco. You were talking to the TO’s way to damn much and getting that bracket from them way too much! Sorry man, but there really isn’t alot of evidence that is needed excpet for the fact that some of us SAW and HEARD this shit!

dont take my posts as a personal attack. Good shit on placing high, but alot of the people ( Dream, Shawn, Jacob,) that are attacking me/us weren’t there dude! Were there things wrong with that tournament…YES… should we have said something right then and there?..WE TRIED… Should something be said right now for the betterment of the community? YES…and it is being said so that things like this never happen. So yeah, when I run a tournament, I dont let anyone touch the brackets or atleast try not to let you touch the brackets. The only real people that I know how to seed, run, structure a bracket etc…etc… is myself and squabb from this area!
Well, whatever is going on with what you guys in the past few tournament and have been seeing won’t be the case at MWC, I’ll make sure you guys are all seeded and separated so there is no drama about who got beat by who but like I said, random crap happens…look at Astaroth and Boom Cube BOTH getting knocked into losers in MVC in Nashville and having to face each other in a top 10 elimination match.
They want evidence it’s ok don’t worry about it because i have PHOTOS BITCHES! PHOTOS! of the bracket for mvc3 and that is the most fucked up no nonsense bracket i have ever seen in my life and yea a whole lot of matches went down that should have never happened to begin with. Am i accusing Duckie of cheating because of that? I don’t know but everything that DID went down that day will be revealed soon enough,till then ya can keep arguing amongst yourselves lol

I am just trying to emphasize some stuff here not to personally attack anyone. Again, alot of this had way too much to do with how the tournament was actually ran! I am not accusing Duckie of cheating, moreso, why he didnt stop the TO’s from moving him everywhere. Dream has always ran the most honest and efficient tourney’s in this area! The way tournaments are suppose to be ran! Players should not have an say onto who they should or shouldn’t play…unless, you know what the fuck your talking about and there are 7 pepople from the same area playing each other and there are other people that you can play! But that should never happen at tournaments in the first round right??? Well it basically did and the vast majority got screwed by it!

LOL, I have messed up brackets before, we’re all human, but knowing how to MANAGE a bracket if you are trying to handle a bunch of things is what separates the experienced TOs from inexperienced TOs.
handling different regions, accidentally forgetting a player, seeding; etc all play an integral role in running a clean, efficient tournament…

While I’m not saying that there wasn’t any bracket manipulation at that tournament, I will say that it’s perfectly possible for lesser skilled players to place high in tournaments. Like Jason said, sometimes you just get unlucky with brackets. Take for example that MvC3 tournament we all had a few weeks ago. Two people that I outright destroyed placed higher than me. Another example was Final Round, where Mike Ross magically placed 13th in MvC3, and he was utter garbage back then.
That’s all I’m gonna say on the matter, since I wasn’t there, and I don’t know who did what…
Lycan is right, I wasn’t there at this tournament so I have no idea what madness happened there, but my thing is all the stuff AGAINST Duckie as he still had to win his matches to get to 3rd, that’s why I posted but if the TO was playing madness games with the bracket that’s HIS fault (see the Ohio tournament) that just happened IF players asked to be switched, not the actual players…
