One thing I think is being left out of the Memphis people playing MK or at least the fight night people; it wasn’t that the game was patched every ten seconds, though for a while there it was, the issue was that the patches only took effect if you were connected to the internet. As soon as you were not it was a different version of the game. This even happened at Cinderslam where Ace Kombat, who won that event, used the Cyrax unblockable bomb set ups after his crazy good command grab to body most everyone there. For a lot of people that was a deal breaker. Why learn how to play the game at home when you go to a tourney or a fight night and have to play a diff game? I know this is fixed now as patched are saved to the hard drive but the damage was done. People dropped it and then didn’t go back. An excuse…I suppose yeah but a valid one IMO.
People also forget a lot of players here work 40+ hours a week, have wives, kids and other responsibilities outside gaming. When you have all that going on its hard to find time to invest in getting any good in one game let alone 4. I think I have played Marvel 5 times since I got it today being the longest set with Woot, which was a massacre in his favor but a good learning experience none the less.
That being said its all good. I hope KOF makes it and cant wait to see it tomorrow night. I am a Iori fanboy like Marcus so I hope someone shows me crazy shit with him that causes me to leave early to grab a copy from Gstop
You are right too in that the more you play Marvel the less you get hit by some of the stupid shit. Its still there but its a little better in Ultimate. You better still be down for the get mixed up and die matches. I need to level up.

Goddamit you stream, DDTC combo video watching fucks. Cat’s outta the bag, but guess it couldn’t be avoided. I messed around with Kula for a few days, to prob have her on the back end in case shit got ugly, but I’m not gonna do it. I refuse. Power at my fingertips, easy on my hands, but not my style.
Also, MK had DEFINITE problems. But I liked the game. Still, you had to “deal” too much with shit in it. Spent time learning it and all that. Only thing I didn’t do was jump to tiers. And unfortunately you kinda had to in that game if you played anyone who really knew what was up. In that regard, I couldn’t blame people for not jumping on board, or who stopped playing it for that very reason. Plus, the majority of those patches were jokes. I haven’t even kept up with it. Who’s the new terror now? Sub? Reptile? Kreuger or some shit? Learning how to survive Raiden, endure and punish Kung Lao, know the Smoke frame gimmicks, it wasn’t fun. Then the Cyrax shit. It was like wtf? Can we actually fight now? The charas I used, my fights were already an uphill battle from the select screen. But I still played it until it just got erased here. I still WILL play it anytime it’s in. But you can’t realistically defend that game seeing what it turned out to be.
Console XIII might get stupid in time, but I doubt it’ll ever be broken. They can’t do that much damage porting between arcade and home systems, or at least I think. But I also dig why some people haven’t tried to pick it up yet. That longevity and a dedicated scene is important to the majority. But you know what Shawn told me? You really want to fucking know? Flymike: LOL and that Cyrax stuff COMPLETELY got patched out, but that’s the problem, the game had so many things you just couldn’t keep up with and you go to tourneys and versions are all over the place. Even at Nationals we had to use the unpatched version…go figure…the whole thing was a mess…
I would STILL play some MK but everyone stopped…I think Oreos and the Reptile guy were the last two playing it and Jacob in tournaments…Chris probably at the tail end…as much as Richard talked about that game he disappeared…
About the people who I think will STILL be playing KOF a month from now…I think it will be Marcus, Rell, and FlyMike…out in Nashville I think it will be me, Pat, Kris Nelson, and “maybe” Chris…I think in KNoxville only spiralbottom and trippfan…
YAY I made the cut.
We will come to the January 7th tournament. Josh’s 16th bday is the 3rd and we were talking about coming to Nashville then anyway. 
Oh and Jason, Josh wants to play KOF too but he doesn’t have it yet and hasn’t had a chance to get with Thomas yet. He is actually excited about trying it out.

Duckie and I are in the same boat with Graduating this month. I graduate this week and will start full time next week but anytime after 3 would be cool with me.
Congratulations Jeremy! I forgot you were graduating too. Stephanie withdrew from school for medical reasons for the rest of this semester so we will be home. Even if I have to take Stephanie to the doc you can still come by though. Hopefully I can get her to a specialist soon to find out what the heck is wrong with her. 
Thomas may want to come too. You or Josh can ask him.

How do people keep defending MK. The game while moderately fun was filled with problems. I’m pretty sure I actually heard LIJoe talking on an avoid the puddle podcast about the frame data for the game being dependent on when you hit block and for how long and changing the advantage on it etc.
Crystal: Josh wants to play KOF? Last time I spoke to him he didn’t seem interested in it…I’m playing it exclusively until we get v2012 around the 7th then I will go back and forth like I did with MK for a bit until it died…
