As for the whole ppl dropping mk in memphis because of patches, that right there is a whole load of horseshit!
Folks dropped that game one week! After it came out cause there was no patience in learning the game and folks were just tired of wearing that mini skirt and playing the role of bitch.

Game gets announced: oh shit son! You stupid son! I’m so gonna play that ninja dude that spits flames and tels ppl to get the fuck over here. Shit dude i’m so gonna play that bitch with big tities, whats her name? It dont matter she fine. Oh dude i’ve been reading up,this chracter is legit, hes got just frames,wake ups,blah,blah,blah!

Game comes out:
Oh man look at me! Son I got this crispy fiddy percent combo. If I touch you its yo ass chief! Mileena: basic fundamentals,high/low mixups,timed punishes,bites head off,rubs her tities on the screen,rinse wash and repeat. Bitching begins shortly after, oh hey its ae! Its getting.ready to come out! Back to sf, mk dies, game gets patched because hats and bombs make ppl shit bitches and whores. Memphis:oh hey lookz! Game got patched cause hats r us, good thing I never got into it and I play sf4 but no one has noticed so i’ll use the patching as an excuse.

lol shit is so sad but its always like that here. The only ppl here that were playing the game longer than a week was bishop,marcus,mike and myself. Bishop,marcus and I stopped playing the game after cinderslam and would just mess around with it randomly and mike quit after he returned from nashville and started having recurring nightmares of jacob ford dressed as raiden while wearing giant shoulderpads and was flying behind mike while yelling a bunch of jibberish.

So yea excuses=bullshit.
Either dont play the game in the first place or give it a fair try and quit becuse you just dont like the game for whatever reason but dont make excuses and drop the game before it even takes off and you havent even dealt with the bullshit you so bitch about that 9 times out of ten has a way to be dealt with but ppl are too lazy to learn and rather just flock back into whatever magical sf land they live in.

Yes ive tried quitting that ridiculous mess before,yes ive bitched about the game but we can all agree the arguments about that game are valid lol. But the difference is ive stuck with the game,i sucked it up and just deal with the bullshit and just have fun with it(even tho it still brings out my dark side from time to time lol) but most of all ive gotten a lot better and guess what? I get hit by marvel bullshit less and less frequent, just ask any regulars that play me in that game.

You have to do it really late. Think about a SF safejump roundhouse or something and you’ll get the timing.

Also remember that there’s very little emphasis on links (I’m honestly not even sure if there are links in this game). It’s all hitconfirms and cancels.

lol not so much, the problem MK had was that it was patched all the time, they changed stuff left and right. It’s still a very fun game, but they went overboard on the balancing for tourney play, and THAT’s why it failed.

Marvel is a joke, it’s smash brothers. MK’s problem wasn’t the patching. Nobody besides the most hardcore stream monsters ACTUALLY cared. The problem was that there were a few dominant characters and people with self-respect didn’t want to play them and they just got beat up on anyway. This time, the game will fade in most places because people suck, not because the game sucks. Here’s your chance to get out of the ‘salty’ crowd. The ‘scoops’ crew. The ‘pringles’ brothers, or what the fuck ever. It’s adult game time.

KOF just never caught on here in the US…again, same thing with Virtua Fighter 5 and look how long it took Guilty Gear to gain any respect? These are all very good games but they never gain tons of respect. KOF XIII has to piggyback off SF4. If people like it or not, SF4 is the game that is the central hub…remember for years there were NO SF games and Tennessee was Tekken/Soul Calibur/Guilty Gear central…I don’t think there are any issues with it; this cycle has went on before…

Now to have SOME type of KOF hype, we are having two tournaments for it:
Dec 17-AE2012, the last 3s tourney, UMVC3, KOF
January 7 -AE 2012, UMVC3, KOFXIII ($100 extra added to the pot regardless of entrants, $75 extra for 1st, $25 extra for 2nd) and possibly Tekken Tag Tournament HD (Tekken Hybrid) since that’s something sort of old and sort of new…

At least with this there is one training KOFXIII tourney and another one coming up where you have to hope Majin and ShinBlade don’t take everyone’s KOF fight moneys =)

So at the very least we WILL support the game for a bit but these are our next two sets of tournaments…the final details will be coming up soon but the January 7 one will be a much bigger tournament than the Dec 17 one…

Oh lord. Tweetin dat. Mike can you come through? Also Nash peeps interested - we need to organize a trip up to Memphis on a non tourney weekend just to kick it. I have been in conversation with a few people (FlyMike, Eddie, Squab and Bishop in passing when they came down for our last tourney) about this but it needs to happen asap. Our chill sessions are too real and memorable, and they need to happen more often. How about an off-weekend in January? Thoughts?
