I didn’t stop playing Iori for Macus’ benefit. My team works pretty well for me but when I play Iori I just don’t do very well. So, I played around a bit. When I picked up Saiki I immediately started doing better. That got me to thinking that he just more fits my style of play. Also, that teleport shit is hot.
Is it bad that I’ve played KoF against Josh and against the computer (b/c I suck and right now it seems better than trial shit and practice) and still have no idea what the names are of the characters I choose? I know them by the look on the character select screen.
Duo is a mix-up character unlike the defensive play of Sim. The teleport just adds to the frustration of the opponent trying to guess what side you will be on to start your next string of pressure.
Woot & Dream- This game actually good though, if people drop and only means it was hard to play I guess.
Dream- Go ahead and throw a 3 man T6 tournament lol.
Mckool- Lol
P.S. I think I’m going to run the KOF… =)!!!.. ? What.
People said the same thing about Mortal Kombat, look where that is now. Whatever your opinion of Marvel, I think it’s still the most played game (at least in Memphis) outside of Street Fighter at Fight Night.
lol not so much, the problem MK had was that it was patched all the time, they changed stuff left and right. It’s still a very fun game, but they went overboard on the balancing for tourney play, and THAT’s why it failed.
Also, it didn’t really fail, the tourney numbers are down, but the game sold like a couple million copies I do believe.
That and the original netcode was not playable. Patching every other week, DLC characters and skins that change the properties of the characters. Granted I loved playing the game and if things settled down i may pick it back up but the game had more than one problem with it.
Also I’m not saying all this to hate on the game, I haven’t played it yet so I have no opinion on it, but there have been alot of good fighting games released in the past 3 years besides Street Fighter and Marvel that I have yet to see really catch on and stick, so please excuse my expectations for it >.< .
Marvel is a joke, it’s smash brothers. MK’s problem wasn’t the patching. Nobody besides the most hardcore stream monsters ACTUALLY cared. The problem was that there were a few dominant characters and people with self-respect didn’t want to play them and they just got beat up on anyway. This time, the game will fade in most places because people suck, not because the game sucks. Here’s your chance to get out of the ‘salty’ crowd. The ‘scoops’ crew. The ‘pringles’ brothers, or what the fuck ever. It’s adult game time.
^^ I have that bottle of Jack Daniels in the drawer when I wake up for that, must have forgotten it.
Also when did it catch on that its now a thing to call people frauds? The first time I heard it was an episode of cross counter where it was Mike Ross’s favorite word, and now I see it all the time.
You cant blame woot for his stance on this. It sucks to invest time in a game only to have it stop being played in town after a week. Whether or not KOF is awesome isn’t really the issue. I haven’t bought my copy yet either cause I am waiting to see if it lasts. I spent money on BB, both of em and MK and they each got like a week at Fight Night. Yes I know some of these games are played in other places here but sadly fight night is my barometer since I cant make all the house gatherings.
I totally understand this logic. However, you and prob 90% of the rest of the scene here think the same thing which is why the game ends up only getting played for 3 weeks tops. If a certain person doesn’t buy the game, then this person doesn’t buy, 2 people haven’t bought the game yet so this guy doesn’t buy, 3 people haven’t bought it so this guy definitely doesn’t buy, and next thing you know, 5 of the 8 people that actually bought the game stop playing because “nobody else” is playing the game or “It’s just not for me.”. Then eventually the 3 that had the most interest stop playing or taking the game seriously because of the lack of solid comp variety. Trailer comes out for the next shiny and new fighting game that everyone wants to play and the cycle continues.
