I basically was in training mode with my characters off and on all night tonight. Yeah I know, play real matches and all’at, but I really wanted to get a better grasp of my characters after Pat steamrolled me with Ralf before I got sets in with humans. Now I think I’m ready to go at it again and see how I fare. I’m also still somewhat shopping for my third character. Terry and Shen have locked spot on the squad. Takuma was at anchor. I know he’s hella good, but, and maybe it’s my inner newschool-plink-footsies-techslawlogy, but damn if I am missing a solid reversal on wakeup. I played around with Robert some before I hopped off and the SFIV in me is loving that DP. Also solid ass blockstrings and hit confirms.

Was looking at Kula and K’ as well. I know K’ is supposed to be king dick in this game, but what do y’all know about Kula?
This game is good because it’s the real deal. This isn’t hacky hacky mash a thon bullshit constant true 50/50 mixup use meter to make your stupid shit safe Disney vs Looney Toons ultimate tag team battle. Hitting supers and hitting neomax isn’t drop of a hat easy. You have reward for gaining meter, you have half a dozen ways to use it. If you get your ass kicked you’re probably not coming back. Unless… awesomeness ensues. And that awesomeness comes straight from your balls.
Shit is the real deal.

Ok, I’ve dropped Iori for Saiki. His mixups off a command grab are sick but I just don’t have the KoF skill to navigate Shen / Garcia with him right now.
Saiki is the shit. I don’t know how GOOD he is because I’m not particularly good. But, man… that is some DBZ shit.
Still on that Skyrim crack. Playing through a quest that’s an obvious reference to The Hangover.
You guys is gay, getting probably much much better than me at KOF because you can play together. I dig this game alot, I just hope it sticks around. My team ( Ash, Liz, Duo ) is tons of fun, although I dunno how great it is as far as tiers go, it seems pretty solid. I definitely want to make a trip up next week some to wherever anyone is gaming. Someone please let me know when there will be a sizable gathering somewhere for KOF and/or SF. Also anyone know how good Saiki is? If he is as good as he seems, I might give him a shot. He just looks like a stronger Ash.
I feel like I understand offense, as in, how to start hitting people… But combos are still a weakness. Honestly I really don’t see anyone other than Ash breaking out hour long combos or anything, it is more about mixups and pressure in my eyes. Also throws… How do they work? I mean, I will be playing Duo, having a nice pressure string going and then reset for a throw and 3-4 times just stand there slapping ol’ boy in the face with a C or D. What the hell? Other times, I empty jump and throw perfectly? I have no idea. Jason damn sure gets them throws. What’s up?
Also… People talking about meaty attacks not being good…like…what in the world are you talking about? Meaty attacks are fine in 4. I mean, yeah its more dangerous in KOF and against someone truly good at 3s… but I don’t understand at all how they are not scary in 4, especially with option selects. You can set up some absolutely stupid meaty shit with something super simple that takes half life if they press a button.
I dunno about Kula now, but she still seems super dangerous and I know she was absolutely insane in arcade. One of the more used characters, and one of the scariest for sure. I would watch southtown streams where people would bitch about that character for an entire match. I would say she is definitely worth looking into. Super cool character, IMO.

Andrew throws work with forward + C or forward + D. Even though it works with pressing back as well I believe. I always just press forward. C will get you a forward throw and D will get you a back throw. Doesn’t matter what direction you are holding, it’s based on the button. It’s harder to throw in this game anyways than SF so keep that in mind.
So I’m out of commission for a little bit guys, I’m certain I have the flu or some form of it. Fever, chills, vomiting, fun stuff. I wil say this though, trying to go through Sen’s Fortress in Dark Souls last night with a fever and halfway hallucinating makes the game so much more ridiculous.

Was one of the best characters in arcade. Still good. Everyone is “good”. This game made him a little funny looking but he’s supposed to really buff. A lot of characters can zone. Depends on what kind of projectile you want, and what you want to do behind it. But just give people a try.
You have to do a small amount of the target actions, or none at all. Then he’ll fight you after like the 4th fight. For Saiki, you have to do a lot of the target actions and he’ll challenge you.
Lmao what? Everybody has swag in KOF, though you could prob see it more in older games with the intros and stuff. I guess play K’ because he has white hair like Dante and Bryan Fury. The other two slots you should just fool around with ppl to see who you like.
It’s not weird. What’s kind of weird is finding a character that DOESN’T have a command grab. Plenty of hybrids in KOF. No character just really sticks to one particular “type” or style, like you would find in SF or other games. So it’ll prob seem like some characters are stacked compared to others in terms of what all they can do. Athena is a boss.
Also, you can’t command grab if someone is stuck in blockstun.
She’s really, really good. Easy damage. I messed with her but haven’t played anyone with her yet. Yea, she was one of the most overused characters in arcade.
Why?? Marcus was the one who didn’t like Claw Iori. I always thought he was nice but we both agreed that EX Iori would just be…better. For obvious reasons. But you should see Bishop’s Claw. He has all the spacing, footsies, and instinct to make that character work. So Marcus respects him now but still wants to play with EX Iori cuz that’s who he grew up with. And other shit.
I don’t know really anything about Saiki nor have I seen what he can do. I might mess around with him too just for this reason.

Nobody wants to play it in Memphis! Even if they do play it, it will only be for 1 fight night, MAYBE 2 if you’re lucky then it’s back to playing boring old Street Fighter. Marvel will pick up every 4 weeks and die off again with just me, Jas, Bishop, and the scrandoms playing on and off.

Yeah but the difference is that this game is good lolol. I feel like people are liking how it has a SF feel but it’s got that speed to make it more interactive. Once I get past landing solid BnBs and BnBs into DM, it’s gonna be mighty fun. Can’t wait till break!

In January we will have a big money pot for KOF regardless if there are only 2 people so practice up, we’ll at least have one tournament where bigger monies are on the line
