The New Tennessee Thread: Our Infractions bring all the mods to the yard!

Here is the trend in Gabe’s posts:

Post 1:
Tells someone they are “slaw”, etc.

Post 2:
U mad bro?

Post 3:
Explains he was j/king, but for real they are slaw, stay free, etc, back to the lab.

Repeat Post 1

So - fight night is starting next Wednesday at T&G tourney place, correct?

Also, COMBINATION H, SON!

GDBell Garbage

Spoiler

Really? How would you know? I would love to hear your reasoning on this. As a matter of fact - I would take Bishop on “random select” vs ANY character you pick in a FT5 MM.

Sev plays Yang better than Bishop? I don’t even think I’ve seen Sev play Yang, ever. And yes … everyone plays Cody better than I do (you’ve already mentioned that) - and it makes perfect sense. But it sure is a good thing you play Balrog better than Cylus, right?

Yeah - that’s completely relevant.

:shake:
Wooow…your titties must be HUGE 0-0

Comment of the thread right here.

Yeah dude. Enemy of the State was an amazing mixtape and I was pissed that he canceled the sequel but now he’s gonna drop it so yay.

I was using sound hound and slacker radio together on my phone one day and I stumbled upon this old school gem:

I’m a sucka for old school hip hop but I never really fucked with Run DMC but I dig this track. Then I found Down with the King which had those classic rugged New York samples and drums I love so much. But it’s hard for me to find new hip hop to get into though. Everything out nowadays is so trash.

It’s not just Hip-Hop though. Everything is trash, major labels push songs that are catchy for the people riding in their cars who feel like that is the only time music should be listened to. For those of us who sit down with each new album and layer it out and find what’s underneath the lyrics and the huge guitar riff we basically have to search underground website’s, mixtapes, and friends to find good music. Childish Gambino, Moosh and Twist, Das Racist, guys like that are taking hip hop in a new but familiar direction going back to the roots, not rapping about cars and guns. For example, Lil Wayne raps a song at a concert about always having a gun on him, never “busting back” because he always “shoots first” and then when they find a gun on his tour bus he calls it profiling. But I have the same problem with rock as well, Katy Perry has more number one hits than Led Zeppelin, REM, and Metallica combined, OFF HER FIRST ALBUM. Music is no longer a platform for launching creativity, its a canvas used to sale records. Also Joe Budden may still be the best fucked over rapper of all time, listen to Ordinary Love Part. 3 Closure. Lupe Fiasco

Also saying Drake is the Future of Hip-Hop is like saying Cable should have let Apocalypse live. Someone has to dethrone him before we are listening to doods rap about wishing they could have periods so their girlfriends don’t have to go through the discomfort.

Joey! New Jag stand up!

With break coming up I’ll be putting serious time into KoF XIII. My hype levels went from non-existent to overflow levels from the character videos and J Freezy. Not dropping, promise! I need something new and different.

Anybody notice run DMC stands, for,Devil May ,Cry LOL----

Also Joe Budden had one of the illest finishers on Def Jam Vendetta. Redman too…Jersey went H.A.M. on that game.

But real talk Zeth knows what’s up. I talk music with this dude daily. He ain’t that white hip hop “scholar” we all went to high school with that onyl listened to wu tang and Talib Kweli and thought they knew everything. And yes, Joe Budden is one of the game’s best lyricists hands down.

Lupe Fiasco’s “Theme Music to a Drive By” is one of the greatest hip hop songs ever made. If you are even the remotest semblance of a hip hop fan and haven’t heard it, remedy this immediately. I’d link to it but can’t seem to find a decent quality one on mobile youtube. Anyone up for an assist?

I know I know KoF XIII pre release hype and all that but man, I haven’t been this excited and eager to try a new fighting game in a longggg time. I guess after my experience with Marvel 3 I’m still looking for a change of pace from SFIV, but something that isn’t as fucking whacky and unforgiving as Marvel 3…

Tomorrow fools…hands will swell, jeans will tighten, buckles will fasten, and niggas will get they drawls ranbu’d off.

Yeah I heard a little about that Joe Budden business. Something about his pregnant, sexy ass wife fuckin some football nigga. I didn’t follow anything after that cuz I don’t listen to the guy but I might get around to giving him a listen after that track. Pretty hot. I checked out Childish Gambino’s video for Freaks and Geeks but I was high and when you high it seem like you peep shit on another level and what the weed was telling me was that this dude is maaaaad gay just by lookin at his mannerisms (“swag” to sound cool) but I just checked him out again with sober eyes and he’s not too bad. Lol. No real substance in this particular song but at least it ain’t guns, bitches… well… guns & bling. There’s only so much of that shit you can listen to until you start craving something relevant to real live goin on in the lyrics. I wish Gangstarr would’ve put more albums out before Guru died. That was one of the most godlike duos in the genre that I can think of outside of Mos Def and Kweli but this ain’t world star so I’ll let it be. Lol

Edit: Yeah that was a good one by Lu but dude, Kweli is STILL a beast. I LOVE Gutter Rainbows. And plus Ed Lover is on it! Friggin Ed Lover! C’Mon Son!

I think the coolest thing in KoF is their jumping system. I’d recommend checking out the KoF 12 intro video. It’s like 20 minutes on the basics of KoF compared to other fighters.

This is what you should watch to learn more about KoF. http://dreamcancel.com/how-to-play/

Yeah, I didn’t fuck with the first song on that album either, but judging someone by one song is like judging a bitch by the crook of her elbow. You have to look at the whole package. Escape Route was a better Budden album, came out a few years ago. Gambino’s Camp is a more personal album than his mixtapes, he talks about real shit more but “relevance” in lyrics is a very vague term. I love Ghostface Killa but I am from a rural Kentucky city that’s claim to fame is it’s corn production. I can’t relate to his shit but its cool to live vicariously through his lyrics, and dude is a storytelling genius. But I’m known to have playlists that follow Inspectah Deck with Vampire Weekend and shit, I’m a little eclectic. Also if you like Kweli you have to check out Idle Warship, him, Res, and Graph Nobel killing it.

Is there an SRK for KOF community? kinda like TYM for MK. Or Dusty loops or BB and GG.

Oh Jus’ to clarify that wasn’t a slam against Kweli or Wu, just a comment on those wannabe hip hop moguls that think they are an authority.

Dammit people stop linking KoF vids while I’m at work and can’t watch arrrggghhhh.

Also lmao at Dax’s post. The cat arm just sent that shit over the top.

The one I found online that seemed well put together was Orochinagi. Check that one out. I’m about to put together a Word document on the basics on the game and the characters I want to use after I get back from the gym and finish my school work.

Sounds good. Will do. By relevance I mean shit that everyday guys like myself can relate to. Positive and inspiring to me personally. Stuff that can make me a better me in the long run. Oh and I definitely don’t mind a good story either. It doesn’t even have to be real as long as that is sort of the idea that the artist was going for and not just some garbage. Example: Spray Paint & Ink Pens. LOVE that beat to by the way…

Yeah I got cha dude. I didn’t take it that way but, yeah. Kweli is that crack.
