I feel you Miguel. I really want to like the game and I think building a team won’t be as daunting of a task. In Marvel 3 I think it was the one aspect that ultimately led to me putting the game down. I like several characters, but no team I was putting together seemed to have much synergy. That and my brain just isn’t wired to think of team building in that sense. with KoF I can try some characters more or less independently of one another, then if I dig three of them, slap em together, come up with a punchy name, then we in there with our own hair (Licensed Trademark of Buford Co.). After that then, as you said, I can worry about team meter management, preferred order, etc.
Also on a strictly aesthetic/design note, I have to say SNK comes up with the coolest names for their moves and system mechanics. I mean you go Leader Desperation Moves, Provocations (instead of taunts), DREAMCANCELS (shit was mad crunk in XI when the words came up on the screen in huge text), Hyper Drive, Neo MAX…list goes on.
Unrelated note - Childish Gambino has released one of the best hip hop albums of the year in Camp. I know we got a few Gambino heads in here. NeoDrew? Sev? You heard it yet? I’m gonna go ahead and say it because I believe it 100% and some hype trains need to be derailed:

I kinda enjoyed Rukus’s comment though it was a true flame, had some central truths in it. I honestly didn’t play any of these games enough due to life, but as I have stated before, I have time now since order is being restored in my life, so I will be dedicating a LOT more time to these games. I will get where I need to be by next summer. I honestly believe that. Again, I know I am terrible, one of the worst here (though not the very worst) so it keeps me hungry. The difference between me and say, some of the others here, is that I don’t think I am better than what I really am. I got past that after Squab beat me 9-1.
Anyways, I’m about to go experiment with this “Mahvel” game, and maybe I can make myself feel special if I create a team before Justin Wong. I will call it team Doughboy and smile everytime I see him win grand finals with it…while I continue to struggle to beat the locals here in town…especially ones that wear doo-rags and do MMA… Cuz thats hows I rolls!

Glad Memphis and Bama could come out. I really want to go to the Bama tourney, but the timing is really bad for me. It’s the weekend before finals, and I have 3 on monday. I probably shouldn’t go, but I’m not ruling it out yet. If I feel like I’m ready for my exams, i’ll be there. Myself and everyone else appreciates you supporting the scene.

Yeah man. You’re absolutely right. I ALWAYS dodge decent competition. That’s why I ALWAYS try to go to gatherings and tournaments to play different and possibly better competition despite my personal situation. Fuck outta here with that! Your’re the LAST person in the history of the Memphis fighting game scene that needs to try to talk about someone “dodging” people. How many MMs do you STILL have lined up that will never happen? How many gatherings and tournaments have YOU been to? Winning more than the other guy has always been a goal of mine but most importantly is improvement.
Of course I’ve had my fair share of losses AND asswhippins but I can guarantee I’ve never gotten 40+ streaked by a room full of folks on rotation. I take my losses and try to expand on them through more training and research as opposed to throwing TE sticks and storming off like a child.
As far as me and “not helping people” goes…ask around. Ask Squabb, SRKFADC, Locke185, Jas, Sev, Hiryu, Duckie, FlyMike, Rukus, Dax, Eraser, ShinBlade, and hell even Lil Majin. Damn near everyone. Im ALWAYS sharing information with people whenever I sit down and play them or if there is something someone wants to know that I do. There hasn’t been a single gathering OR tournament I’ve attended where someone hasn’t heard me say something along the lines of “Hey man, you can use this to deal with this.” or “You should block more in that matchup”. If YOU sir have never received any help from me upon request then maybe it was because you ran your mouth like a fuckin ass.
