i have to say i think the majority of the hate for the layout is because we are used to the old one so this is unfamilliar. black and gray is pretty nice but ill miss the other stuff for a while.
but yeah, loli sigs being gone is nice, guess im going to just have to gauge retards by their posts instead of k-groove

Here is the incentive. You enjoy spending hours on srk doing any given week and you wish to support it to cover a fraction of the price.
It’ll take a little getting used to, but I’m okay with the changes.
I actually want the 09 color scheme back too.
I don’t mind the new theme but the option to choose a theme like in “Old” SRK should still be a option. And join dates and rep should definitely be added back. I would suggest however a better rep system however.

I think the worse parts about this new look, other than the dark, drab despressing colorscheme, is the way the page is so damned cramped & claustrophobic.
Also having to lower the default font to rediculous sizes just to keep the buttons (reply, edit, etc) from smashing into and covering eachother is lame.

New layout looks especially poor on mobile devices.
I’m not sure why that is, but the old site just fit a compressed screen size a lot better, I think it had more efficient use of the horizontal screen real-estate.
Some attention to mobile device support should be given, considering the fact that mobile browsing is exploding right now and shows no signs of slowing down.
I’m a fan of simple layout so I’m cool with it.
Top control part isn’t loading properly on Opera 10 unless I have “fit to width” on.
They are probably still working on it tho.

The layout doesn’t look that bad on a widescreen monitor, but on a crt its way too cramped especially on the top of the page. Also I don’t see the time stamps of posts for some reason. Not having join dates is…strange and unfamiliar territory lol.
Once things get fixed and premium skins come back(and shields), it should look pretty solid. The font is great though.
a reworked Rep system would be nice. Like stated above, something like a “pending approval” or some sort. Or given out in a different way. Somewhere down the road of how nominating a post would go.
the site is fine when it’s daytime though. Cause the outside light makes it a little easier to deal with. But outside of that, the new dark look is not that well. I personally don’t like it still. Almost every nonbig site uses that dark/black layout. It’s like a default.
but I get we’re in beta and shit’s getting worked out on. I honestly think it’d be nice to have the site come out of beta, return to the last version, and have whoever wants to fool around and test the beta site go for it. Though I doubt it’s possible now.
- The text is not white, it is gray.
- Join date does not indicate how long someone has been playing a game, it only indicates how long they’ve had a SRK account. You shouldn’t be using join date as a gauge of post importance. That’s incredibly flawed logic.
