You got that right. I knew he wasn’t as bad as some would have you believe.
My bad, then. I apologize.
Is there a video or something of the reference you’re making then?
I think that’s what threw me.
does anyone have the problem of realbout2 showing up as not working and missing files in the nfba game list but when you double click it then it plays? Shit is weird haha
Mmm… it was a noob tourney? Because except for the champion (a turtle in full hands) and maybe (and maybe) Yamaz, all of them suck, include that Rick.
The only match that matter to me, or that I want it, is with Tung. Will be interesting to broke it.
That’s why he won, because is style keeps away every possible attack. Rick is nothing in long distance, same with Yamaz (that style)
I barely watch tourney vids because I think they’re old, but this dissapointed me.
I’ve had this game since it’s release, and by far RB2 is my favorite fighter now. I do love RBS as well, but both games are like completely different, so learning one before the other.
So far I’ve messed around with a fair few characters, and originally I just stuck with Terry and Krauser for ease of play and they were fun. Now I’m thinking of who I would like to run tournament wise, and Yamazaki seems to fit the bill.
I don’t see him listed as particularly high in any of the tier lists, yet in most tournaments I see Yamazaki seems to be consistently played. It also gives me a chance to work on using a zoning character, conducting the battle how I want.
I read his little write-up at the beginning and I’ll have to work on his moves. A,B,C thing is having me confused since it’s not listed as such on the PS2 version but I’m sure I’ll figure it out soon enough.
Anyone had any good match up’s with him? Or used him effectively in matches? I would like to know how he does, since I can’t ask most of the people in the match vids.
Does he work for a win or is it alright for him? Any bad match up’s? Any fucking easy one’s?
I’m having some trouble fighting my friends Cheng, but mostly I think it’s due to my eagerness to get in and do a fancy combo without knowing how to connect them. Most times I try to do his super foot kick and just eat attacks for it.
Cheng can’t really hurt you in big chunks, he has to play patient. Key is to stay patient on him, and use his lack of damage against him.
Yama is considered a strong upper-mid in both, I know in RB2 he has matchup problems with Cheng though.
I think Krauser is probably Yama’s best match up but that is just from my experiences playing Krausers. It just depends on how good both players are but overall I think the match is in Yama’s favor.
no, simply you don’t know of what are you talking about and nobody really sucked.
IMO Franco is even a easier matchup for Yama.
yamazakis worst match ups are against the small characters like mai and andy, let alone tung, cheng and the jins. just hard tough as you gotta adjust you style a little, as your standing C misses the crouching bastards and your medium snake just flies over motherfuckers.
besides them, rick can be a tough match up for yama with his speed and some of his moves going under the medium snake.
p.s. look at the first page, there should be a write up for yamazaki and most other characters in the game.
also truth is truth, the tournament wasn’t anything with noobs or amateurs. though i gotta say, they weren’t all that good either. the tung was a bitch but skilled enough, the rick wasn’t all that IMO and the yamazaki was pretty decent. ive seen better tournaments with better players. these where one of the most disappointing players so far in japanese RB2 tournaments. but either way still enjoyable.
thanx for the vids soh, keep on bringing them in.
Of course I know what I’m talking about. Otherwise, I wouldn’t do it.
I saw once one vid of some Geese against I think one Rick. This player was 2020 or something I think and that was a good player, driving all his cunters very well, but it give me some doubts because maybe he knew every move of his opponent because and after so many matches between them.
These ones, nop.
And musolini, good thoughts.
what happened to all the 2df players
I’m always there
I’ll be there later on =P
That dude is good. Trust me. He’d be a good match for Ghosty if he hadn’t given up RB2 for now.
Which one man ?
The level of that tournament was high (even very high IMO), for what we can recognise from the vids I would say all players are very good for how they use their characters for what they can offer, except the Rick user (who is simply good), especially that Tung is the best I ever seen and words like “pretty decent” reported to that Yamazaki is reductive IMO.
Obviously I could argue why I think in this way but first I would like to heard why Malfreds thinks those players are noobs even because i don’t understand what’s the point with his discussion on 2019’s Geese and his counters.
There wasn’t any Geese in these vids and the only characters seen who has a counter was Yamazaki, who used it once (successfully) against Mai and rightly never against Rick.
Don’t tell me that he should use the counter against Rick.
I fallow the japanese real bout scene from more then 2 years and I think I have every japanese match video ever released since february 2006 (I have even some older), this only to say that I am not a naive.
IMO the “I’m not boy” cups are the bests but I really would like to see those which you mean, if you any vids.
And don’t thank me for the vids, I only upload them, thank those who record and upload them on their sites/blogs.
You.
You are the only one I play with any regularity who makes me tear my hair out right now.
The Geese I’m talking about is not in these videos, but in others. I wrote about him because I was talking about good players I’ve seen in vids and I didn’t mention anything about countering stuff like you say, just “I like that Geese counters”.
Why am I saying those are “noobs”? I regret, noobs is a strong word, better let’s say "not so goods"
I’m saying this because I’ve been in RB2 scene for 10 years, I’ve been saw many players, (most of them retired) I’ve been challenged soooo many times at very high level in arcades so I have won the right to say those japs in vids (particullary these ones) are not as good as they seem, of course, taking note of what I said in my previous post.
And saying that I possible learned some stuff or tactics from their vids, wrong. As I said before I barely see RB2 vids. I have my own style.
Of course, I have not vids for my arcades matches, what was the point at that time?
And do not misundertanding me, I’m not a big mouth who is crappy in game. In fact, I would like to challenge some japanese guys, but there’s the ping wall, and of course, how to contact them.
And thank you arstal. Ghostpilot challenged me maybe two weeks ago and the only thing I remember is I was in a two victory row when the game collapsed. Agressive Franco btw.
OK
I might believe that you and/or your friends are very strong players but with all these words you didn’t explained why you THINK that:
- those japanese are “not so goods”
- you and/or your friends are better than them
About the vids i was talking to Musolini… but when you’ll have vids of you and your friends to show I will be glad to see them :wgrin:
Those players like most of the japanese good players play on arcade only, you’ll never seen them online. You can try to contact the game center where they have their tournaments (Daytona III in Warabi (in Saitama Prefecture)) using the mail option of the site: http://www5.pf-x.net/~re-project/mail/kisomail/input.html
BTW the best thing you can do is participate in one of their tournament and win it.
On the site there is a map which explains how to get there, they gather on average once a month and make an “I’m not boy” cup every 2 months.
ahhh, fuck. if i had the time and means i would love to challenge these japanese players at RB2. even get my MOTW game up again just to play at these tournaments. KOF98 or RB training isn’t necessary. though im pretty sure i would get raped with TS, as i only mastered like between the 3 and 5 (shotoscrubs, chun and urien to a degree) characters and know how to play decently (which isn’t good enough) with maybe 2 or 3 more. then again, having played TS home on only a ps2 pad with no real competition is part of the reason ive never gotten into TS the way i had gotten into the alpha and SF2 series back in the past. or some snk series (some FF, some SS, some LB and of course KOF).
