This tuesday I am getting everyone I know who plays together in my dorms lobby for some casuals. If everyone turns up it would be about 8 people, lol. We’re gonna just start meeting every week or so hopefully and do some casuals and money matches. If it ends up working we’ll try to get a venue and do some monthly tourny going on but I don’t think it will be anything on that level. I’m gonna try starting a Lincoln thread and getting them to post so we can get others who might spot it but whatever happens happens. On the actual topic I’d be so down for some ST and whatever. I’m just looking to have fun, meet people, and get better. It’s hard if you don’t get a scene so thats my ultimate goal. Great meeting some of you Omaha folk!
Yeah I live in Omaha man. I am awful in SSF4. It could be that online is just horrible, and I also just dont understand the game. I’m tempted to just give it up and learn MVC3. One of these days I will figure it out.
Winner of SF4 was Jamar, he’s an Omaha guy. Second was NGamer, he’s an Iowa Smash player.
MvC3 Jamar won that too, 2nd was Kieth a local 2D Fighter player and I got 3rd. 4th was I think Shield?
MvC3 had a decent amount of entrants. But yeah it was only 5$ so 3rd got 10$ 2nd got 30$ and 1st got 60$
Jamar seemed pretty chill. Again, if anyone is hosting casuals on a Saturday, would definitely like to know if they’d post up. I would actually like time with MVC3. SF4 I have no real interest in learning, I play Super Turbo and I’ll be bringing Arcade ST supergun in the future.
Jamar and keith were both at ffc last week. Jamar i believe came 3rd and kieth came in 2nd. That was for marvel though. I was talking to jamars friend mario and he said that thy meet up like once a week to Play
Would be good to get in on that. I know Omaha has had or does secretly have a decent scene or group of players just based on its history with Street Fighter 3. I’m just looking to try and get something like that going again out in the open here. You’d get to a point where maybe tourney results were actually posted on the boards and we can have sessions where folks play, ask questions, communicate, and stop counter picking in casuals. I noticed this while hanging out at the venue, but just to state it:
It’s easy to get in over your head talking about games on paper rather than learning them. Best to ignore your preferences if you want to learn to improve. There’s no prize for being best theory fighter.

I don’t think I saw anyone counter-picking in casuals. I know I played the same team all day lol.
Also I just played with my buddy til 3 AM, we’re kind of spur of the moment about when we get together but it’s usually evenings-late night. 402-541-7356 is my number, just text me with your name or something and I can let people know whenever we get together spontaneously. Otherwise I’ll check and see what I work and see if we can get some games going Friday or Saturday or something.
This sounds real chill, and hell to think about a month or so ago I didn’t even know Omaha had a scene.
I played fei in super sf4 casuals and some dude ran Gief after losing with ibuki once, there’s one example. Sweet poison was there for that cause the same person tried to use ibuki against his sim prior to that. Trying to win in casuals instead of learn is for suckers.

However, I haven’t played as much of it lately and I’m trying to level my marvel game up, so ill keep an eye on here to meet up. Ill probably head to ffc this week.
Got the HRAP EX in the mail. I was playing with it for about an hour today. The buttons feel real whack but I can easily change em sometime. I just have to make sure not to fuck up this time. Anyone want to meet up this weekend? Let me know.
GGs Omaha. I’ll be back as soon as I can. When did Beatmania get taken away from FFC?! I was so disappointed.
FFC got rid of a lot of games. I wish they still had Spawn. I used to love that game. We went upstairs to the mini golf and they have a SF2CE but the control panel is completely stripped. I was sad when I saw that.
Here in lincoln there is a place called the Gameroom that has a MvC2 machine and SF2: World Warrior. It’s a used game store but the owner got the cabinets in. Def worth checking out, even though they got HAPP in it atm.
Yell at him and tell him Happ is ass.
Oh ya I forgot you had an experience with HAPP now, lol.
I was thinking about going to FFC today but I didn’t want to play Happ.
I know my stick doesn’t have Sanwa buttons, but it has a Sanwa stick and that is much better than Happ.
