OK…, so I was checking out the O. ken wiki and I noticed that, other than a table of contents, that it’ss completely empty.
Considering that and that he’s one of the better characters in the game, it’s pretty sad. Equally useless is the fact that many parts of the wiki on other games- like 3s, are incomplete or not even started. Being that this is a community dedicated to furthering SF knowledge, popularity, and strategy- and eliminating noobish questions (lol), I find this a failure on our part, and there fore have decided that the best way to remedy this problem is to make a thread for this unfinished wiki- which will be part of a series- and put all “discovered” information within the thread into the wiki. Hopefully this will spread to other characters and games, and the eventual goal will be to finally fill the wiki to the brim, so that any basic question may be referred to it, without any doubt that the information will not be there. Not only will this quell noobs’ desires to know ( and dumb questions) about SF, but this will leave the experts open to do on this forum what was meant to be done: Discuss advanced, competitive fighting. I urge the community to join me in this project, so that we may achieve this goal and return SRK to its ideal state.
…
So without further ado, Old Ken is in the House!
Basically Old Ken is Ken before he was balanced into ST…'s “new” ken. He seems to have more invincibility frames on his SRK, a viable fireball (unlike N. Ken, who has significantly slower, less damaging fireballs than Ryu. His main game is based around his excellent crossups, srks, and throws.
PLEASE FEEL FREE TO HELP ME AND ADD TO THIS. I AM NOT AN OLD KEN EXPERT.
Normals:
Lp: a Jab. Quick and not too damaging. Rapid fire properties.
Mp: A forward. Slightly sower, more Damage, Can Link into various moves.
Hp: A fierce. hard hitting but slow. Links into srk, fireball, and tatsu.
Lk: a rapid-fire kick, low damage, links to most specials and the super if done right.
Mk: same as lk, but slower and more damaging. Part of his mk-hadou bnb.
Hk: used for knockdown and stun. High damage, c. hk causes knockdown. J and c hk can be used to your opponent’s annoyance.
Throws:
Forward HP: Ken throws the opponent over his head. Decent damage, can set up some combos.
Backward Hp: Same. Opposite direction-dur.
Hk throw: ken does a rolling variant of ryu’s hk throw. does some pretty good damage. Knocks down, obviously enough.
Combos:
BNB:
c. lk to hadouken.
c. mk to hadouken.
fierce to hadouken.
c. lk lk to shoryu. (possible?)
